The restaurant interior is cozy and pleasant, with nice lighting and several booths and tables nicely situated about. I enjoyed a dinner bento box (yes, they have those here) with salmon teriyaki as the protein selection and white rice. The miso soup and salad with ginger dressing is a really nice start to the meal. The miso soup was flavorful, as was the ginger dressing which was bursting with flavor and fresh tasting atop the cold, crisp salad. I was also given a really nicely made California roll, which didn't skimp on ingredients. Also accompanying the salmon and the rice were pork gyoza and spring rolls. It was a great amount of food at a fair price. For dessert we just could not decide on one so we selected the crepe cake (a kind of specialty) and the mango mochi ice cream. Both were very enjoyable, and the mochi stood out with its authentic mango flavoring (I think). I will definitely be back to try more of the menu. Thanks, Kiku!

Started out with one of the best miso soups I've had with a deep flavorful broth and lots of scallions, and the seaweed salad was delicious. The Bushido rice was a good choice, different, garlicky with a little jalapeño kick, and they give you a yummy pink sauce on the side to cool it down a bit. Good selection of regular sushi and specialty rolls. We got a sashimi roll and bushido roll. Both fresh and filling. Nothing was too special to write home about but I would recommend it for their clean, quick, casual vibe, and good service.

We love the Indian place a few doors away so when this came up on a Yelp search I figured I would drive over from Lake of the Woods/Jacaranda West area and pick it up. By the time I made the trip I did not expect the food to be kitchen hot and fresh: my review is not about that. I suspect to make things even more challenging, they told me it would be ready in 35 to 45 minutes.....and I was there in 30. I think it had been sitting already for a bit...the place was FULL with people waiting. There were 4 drivers in queue for Door Dash and Uber Eats I suspect. We got the Chicken Satay as a common item, which my wife really enjoyed, the chicken was tender and properly cooked. Sauce and seasoning very nice. 8/10 We got the white rice. i am NOT a fan of white or basmati rice or any white rice for that matter, even brown is suspect with arsenic and chemicals and processing and packaging issue. But I would have gone for brown but that seems to be NOT an option here???? My wife selected the Spicey Basil Shrimp which was also nicely prepared and a healthy variety of vegetables lightly cooked and seasoned, a very nice job. The shrimp seemed a good product and not too scary (smile). She could not finish it and is taking it to work/school tomorrow. 8/10 My daughter rolled with the House Fried Rice with double egg but no meat/chicken. She really enjoyed this and this is here "test" entree. So simple and yet when its poor......you really know it!! Hats off this gets a 9/10 I got the Garden Vegetable Fried Tofu. This has a nice wide array of vegetables nicely firm but amply cooked. The sauce was also very nice. The tofu was cubed and fried on all sides but perfectly done and not greasy and oil charred blocks or rubber. Good tofu product!! I really enjoyed this! I will order this ON SITE when we dine in just to see how much better it will be kitchen to table fresh and hot!! 10/10 So for take out, this was pretty good. 10x better i am sure freshly served and not sitting on a shelf and in a plastic bag.... then driven 20 more minutes to the house..... great job Star Thai & Sushi. Till we meet again to dine in..... Good job!

Our server, Kevin, was extremely friendly and gave us great recommendations since it was our first visit. To drink, I had the lychee sake while my husband tried the apple sake, and both paired perfectly with our lunch. For appetizers, we ordered the Fuji Roll and the Yummy Yummy Roll -- both were fresh and delicious. For my entrée, I got the hibachi dinner combo with filet mignon and shrimp. The salad that came with it was amazing, especially with the ginger dressing. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the yum yum sauce since it tasted a little too sweet for me, but everything else was very good. Overall, we had a great experience and I would definitely come back again with family and friends!

I popped in there with my 10 year old daughter today for a late lunch. The place was completely empty and appears to be mainly a take out place now although there are several booths. I told the young lady behind the counter that we were eating in so she brought us a menu as we sat down. I walked up to the counter to place our order of miso soup, California roll, and hibachi style steak udon. The soup & roll came out almost instantly served in take out containers complete with lids on and flimsy plastic cutlery. It seems to me that if there are multiple booths for eat in customers there should be regular serving dishes and utensils available for those diners. The miso soup had a strange flavor like it had absorbed the smell of a refrigerator IYKYK. The rice on the California roll was dry and crunchy on top as if it had been rolled hours earlier and left uncovered in a fridge to dry out. After a few minutes my udon appeared also in a covered take out container with a cheap flimsy plastic fork. I ordered it "habach" style so I expected that lovely browness you get from sautéing on a very hot flat top. There was none of that. The "steak" was gray and impossible to chew, most likely some cheap cut of roast that if treated properly might have passed for steak but as prepared was just cubes of grey tough flavorless muscle. The vegetables of carrots, broccoli, cabbage, and zucchini were cooked to mush with not a hint of seared flavor. The noodles were gummy and pasty and whatever small amount of sauce was at the bottom and watery and bland, didn't cling to the ingredients at all. I added a ton of soy sauce to try to enhance what little flavor there was but even that didn't do much. When the cashier approached to ask how everything was I, very nicely I promise, explained some of the issues. All she was interested in was telling me that everything was fresh not reused from yesterday and that I was wrong about my assessment. She offered no refund or remake although a remake wouldn't have been accepted anyways. I ate a few bites of the noodles because I was starving but we threw everything else out. We will not be back and I cannot recommend.
