I first visited Hi-Tech Nails about 6 weeks ago as a walk-in for a pedicure. Ly was very attentive and I was thrilled overall with the result. I returned to see Ly a couple of week later. As a 30 year acrylic nail wearer I had decided to stop having my nails done. But they broke, cracked, looked horrible so I went to Ly to try JUST a gel polish manicure. He was very methodical and I enjoyed the "manicure" part which I never got with any of the acrylic fills I had gotten elsewhere. His filing and polishing was excellent and I was amazed that my nails did not break or split. I went back two weeks later to have another manicure (I could have waited another week but was in town so I went ahead with it). I made the appointment and had to change it twice because of weather and they were so nice to do so. However, when I got there I found out that Ly was on vacation for a month so Tommy did my manicure. Much more talkative than Ly, I enjoyed his sense of humor and his joke telling! He also did a fabulous job on my nails and after three weeks, I only have one slight break. I will definitely be going back. This week as a matter of fact! I would recommend this salon. Although the service was speedy, I was disappointed to find that my gel nails began to peel after only about a week.

Charged me $90 for gel tips. Very rough, did not listen to what I wanted and I was very disappointed overall.

This is my nails. I had acrylics on. I asked for a new set. Tiffany didn't listen she just shaved them down half assed and started putting new acrylic on. Well my old acrylic was an ugly yellow shade so that's why I asked for a new set. She the proceeded to get rude and used cuticle cutter to cut all my corners off and shove a fake nail under to PRY them off! I expressed she was hurting me an she didn't care nor stop. This went on for 45 mins. When she got the last one off I told her you have hurt me I'd like to pay for the removal and leave. She then told me I am not welcome back! I went in expecting great things as it was recommended to me by friends and came out extremely disappointed. they didn't give me what I wanted and they didn't even pain the entire nail. the corners were left unpainted and the nail looked rough in all. i wouldn't ever go there again (expect to fix their mistake and get some money back). I have been to this salon numerous times whenever I am in town, and I always left feeling happy and satisfied with the overall service. Tiffany usually does my nails, but I occasionally get Tommy when Tiffany is off. They are both excellent, have many years of experiences, and super friendly. Tommy, however, can be a comedian if you really talk to him. He may sound abrupt and rude if you first speak with him, but he just loves to joke around and makes you laugh when you are there as if you are a friend of his. I love this vibe since you don't get the usual Asian shops where the technicians only talk among themselves in their language. Their shop was recently renovated and reopened back in April. It looks completely different...new spa chairs and tables, layout is different, and more up-to-date look. Must visit spot and I'm definitely coming back. read more

Beware that if you go into this business to have a pedicure they make you spray your hands with Lysol (which is toxic) and then make you wash your hands. Not sure what they feel the Lysol is doing when they are asking you to wash your hands afterwards. Not to mention they are working on you feet not your hands. Totally ridicules! read more

Lynn did my pedi but ignored my ingrowns even though I was very clear about my wants. The massage was short, weak, and directionless. The shape of my toenails varied from round to square. Polish (mine, brand new) was applied sloppily. For the high end of $35 I expected better. Totally disappointed. read more

I was going to give them the benefit of the doubt even though a friend mentioned the terrible service the day before. Unfortunately, my friend was proven correct. I called ahead of time for a mani and pedi appointment, arrived and explained again to the gentleman what I was requesting to have done. Get in the chair, the gal completes my toes, then I ask if the nails are next ... baffled by the request she says to come back the following day ... even though it was only 6:30 and their hours say to 7:30 and I made an appointment for it ... super annoyed as I was getting both completed for a wedding two days later... This was the worst experience at a nail salon. It was very dirty, they filed my skin with the buffer and made me bleed, didn't clean up my cuticles and the polish was uneven. The guy had the dirtiest longest thumb nail that he would dig in around your nail on every finger with every coat. I'm never someone to write a Karen review but this one was really bad. read more

Love the owners and always have such an enjoyable experience every time I am here! They have a great selection of colors and Tiffany does very detailed nail art that always looks so neat. First of all this was the worst manicure I've ever gotten in my entire life. Not only did they not follow all the steps necessary for a gel manicure, they just threw the polish and got it all over me and my friends skin and didn't take it off after. My nails are bumpy, uneven etc. then we get to the payment. 173 DOLLARS FOR A MANI PEDI?!? Plus $5 each for their "service fee" AND $3 more for a mask THEY DIDNT EVEN TELL US WE NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!! Not to mention the lady who did my nails told us it was $193 until the guy came and re calculated it to 173. They are all absolute SNAKES and try to scam you of your money. DO NOT COME HERE. Update: the female nail tech that did my gel polish SEVERELY DAMAGED MY NAILS. Now that the gel she applied has been removed my nails are thinner than paper because she hastily power-tooled off my previous gel polish. I won't be able to get another gel manicure again for many weeks until my nails grow out further because they are too thin to prepare now. I also forgot to note in the first review that she was fooling with her smart watch while giving me a manicure, very rude. THANKS A LOT LADY, YOU RUINED MY NAILS. read more

Upon my recent visit which was a disaster, I noticed that they used the electric filing device. It is my understanding that this is not to be used on natural nails. My natural nails are paper thin. I experienced numbness and burning in my finger tips for a full two weeks after having my nails done here. Needless to say, I do not recommend this place, nor will I ever go back. read more

Nail tech was very rough, no massage, file job was terrible, cut nails way too short (I will take responsibility for that as I should have been paying closer attention), and they charged WAY more than any other salon I've ever been to (referring to the salon I normally go to in Whitefish AND the salon I visit while conducting business in the Los Angeles area). Clean, basic nail salon. They did a good job with my walk-in polish change. The chemicals in the air, however, were so strong I almost had to go outside for air. I wouldn't have lasted for a full service. If they fix the ventilation problem, I would give them another star. Twice I had a really good experience here. Tommy got me in quickly both times. Once, when they were really busy he let me soak my feet in the massage chair until they could get to me. He is friendly and conversational, a comedian of sorts. They are on the spendy side for nails around town. You can get it cheaper at Nailtoepia downtown or Foxy Nails. Tommy is the only tech, though, that has wrapped my nails in tin foil to take off the previous coat of gel polish AND the only tech that wrapped my newly painted toes (not gel) in saran wrap since it was winter and I had boots on. I was impressed with both techniques, because most places let you walk outside with those flip flops that fall off and/or sit you down with a bowl of nail polish remover with a towel on top, which I'm pretty sure is not good for your hands and body as it absorbs on your skin AND it wreaks to high heavan. The tin foil and saran wrap tricks are sweet!! It shows that he knows what he'd doing and thinking ahead. I go to Nailtoepia now because they are cheaper and closer to where I live, but I'd go back to Tommy if Nailtoepia wasn't around. read more

Other nail salons in the area have such limited hours and days that as a working individual I appreciate the flexibility of Hi Tech Nails. Their artwork is also superb!
