So disappointed, having Bought over a dozen New Chevy trucks for my business in my lifetime , but this will certainly be my last truck from General Motors. My new go to mechanic!…read more I had been going to Ventrice Auto for years but unfortunately the owner Rocky passed away and the service hasn't been the same since so I decided to give my local Mr Tire a try. I was not pleased with them either as they recommended work that wasn't needed and their prices where high for the work provided and not to mention, items were stolen out of my car while it was there so I desperately needed a new mechanic! My wife was referred to Kalven by a good family friend. Her car needed a state inspection and some brake work done. We made an appointment and dropped her car off. Kalven promised that her car would be done later that same day as she would need it for work the following day and it was! He showed us the condition of the old rotors and pads compared to the new ones. I was so impressed with his work that I decided to let him work on my car as well. I needed brakes as well and was told by Mr Tire that I needed a new wheel hub as I had a strong vibration when I would brake heavily. Kalven let me know that it was my brake caliper as it was rubbing against my rotor. He said he would try to fix it instead of just putting on a whole new caliper to try to save me some money. When's the last time a mechanic tried to save you some money? He was able to repair it without having to change out the brake caliper! I also had Kalven do some suspension work on my car as well. It now drives even better than the day I bought it! Kalven is a very smart man as he has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He has even given me a discount on work he has done multiple times! He is a honest and ethical mechanic and does not try to up sell you on work that you don't need! It was nice talking to him about his family and life while he finished up my paperwork. If your are in need of a good and honest mechanic I highly recommend him! Kalven and the guys at Pitt Stop will be the only ones working on my and my wife's cars from now on!

When you don't have a pick in a service due to roadside assistance you kind of hope for the best…read more However, some times you get left on the side of the road, yes, that was a bad pun. Recently had a bit of car trouble and called up roadside assistance. They set everything up for me, which I thought would translate to quick service. That was completely a lie, wish that would be a complimented by a Maury clip. With the roadside assistance you got text updates and a tracking app to let you know where they are at and when they will arrive. This is kind of where it went downhill. The app never updated, at first I thought it was the company I was dealing with for roadside assistance. Turns out, no, it was the tow truck company. It was 45 minutes and no one was there yet. I was sitting near Delmont and they were coming from Cheswick, I understand there was going to be a bit of lag in showing up, but there was no indication that anything had happened. The app still showed that they were at their place of business. At the hour mark I called the company and asked what was going on. Turns out that the driver decided to go pick up a buddy first, then stop and get fuel, then head my way. Thanks man, no worries, it was just cold out, the people in the neighborhood were worried about me and checked up on me more than you did. Mind you, I was attempting to get to the dealership before they closed to get everything in order. Also to try and get myself a rental/ride since I was between home and work. They showed up a hour and 45 minutes after I first made contact for assistance. I am now massively late for work and doubt I would get to the dealership in 15 minutes. Whatever, I talked to them on the phone and told them my dilemma. When we get to the dealership I told them where to put my car down at. That was disregarded totally. They sat it down where they wanted. I then had to right a note with a description of my vehicle and where it was parked on the lot to leave with my key. It was a headache that was topped off by an awkward ride to the dealership. Like I said at the beginning of the review I was hoping for the best, but ended up in a near nightmare.

I was told to swing by the day before to talk to Justin, the service foreman, to determine if anything can be done as a stopgap until repairs can be made. Justin came up with a game plan, but he knew he'd be off the when I brought the car in, so he talked to Robert and some other guys who were on that day about the game plan. They agreed that bolting the bumper to the frame would keep it secure and follow inspection requirements. When I showed up to get the work done, Noah was looped into the plan, and the 3 of those guys literally saved my sanity and ability for my daughter and me to get to work while our insurance company now battles with the trucking company. Robert was the guy who made the repair that allowed them to proceed with the inspection. After 11 days of getting ignored and being given the run around by Western Express trucking, I seriously could have hugged all 3 of them and when they lent a hand. My husband and I have always had excellent service from your dealership, but these 3 men went above and beyond yesterday at a time of great need, and I can't thank them enough.

I misunderstood the sequence of the steps, and appreciated Cameron taking the time to explain it for me, even though other customers were waiting. When I got the paperwork done and returned for the inspection, it was quick and very clear. For my second service, I scheduled an appointment online for an oil change. I got a prompt email follow-up, plus a reminder email the day before. What I didn't know is that the online tool schedules for drop-off service only, which was not what I wanted. Zach explained this to me as he checked my car in. Despite not having an appointed time slot for my car's service and me stating that I was fine with waiting however long it took, the team worked it into their schedule. It was completed in a very reasonable time for a scheduled service. TLDR: I'm a very satisfied customer. The shop takes care of my car and me. They also replaced the side mirror, but when I got it back, the door was a mess. It's actually a simple procedure to replace the mirror, by taking the door panel off, but it was a mess when I got it back. I had to take it back and have them do it all over again. Meanwhile, my truck kept stalling while in operation and the oil cap was stuck on there... me and three grown men couldn't get it off after leaving their shop, including AutoZone. Also my locking gas cap isn't working the same. Cameron said that he was going to charge me AGAIN to look at the reason why my truck keeps stalling while in operation and I hit the roof. Then he said he would charge me if it wasn't his fault, leaving me vulnerable to another pathological lie, to look at it. So then when I took it to another shop, they replaced the oil cap for free, I only paid for the part, then, on the way home, my check engine light came on so I went back to AutoZone and the code says it's the fuel pump sensor. Cameron said that AutoZone doesn't know what they're talking about. So I contacted some other mechanics and they said that the fuel tank needs to be dropped again to get in there and replace it. So I have to start all over again, get it towed, drop the tank, which is now 3/4 full. I haven't had use of my vehicle since the beginning of the year. I've filled a small claim against them, but so far, Cameron hasn't stated that he's going to show up. Zach did. And Cameron also told me to never come back, and I'm blocked from all Protech websites. So he's completely disregarding the warranty and is really such a sheister, obviously. Really bad place. Never again will I allow those morons to touch my vehicle. I hope the court gets my money back for the parts, labor, and aggravation. According to Pennsylvania law, I'm supposed to get back treble damages and the Bible says seven-fold, so I hope so. I have a small farm and I need my truck. I can't even go to church without it. Really bad place.
