I'd been to Coffee Tree before, and thought it was fine. Then I forgot about it, until I saw some recent pictures, and noticed the re-branding. Coffee Tree became Hi Tea x Coffee Tree (HTxCT). It's kind of a mouthful, but sure, I guess. The recent pictures did me in tbh. I saw something about a "Mango Cheezo" and thought "Hey, I like Mango and I like Cheese Foam (most of the time). Surely this will be good, right?" It tasted like... Okay... This is gonna sound weird but hear me out: You know when you're at a resort, and they're really pushing the whole "We're a tropical resort!" aesthetic, and they have body wash or shampoo in the shower? And you open said body wash or shampoo, smell it and go, "Hey, it smells like tropical fruit. Wow, this is a very tropical resort." Well, HTxCT's Mango Cheezo tasted like it may have been a tropical resort's tropical fruit body wash or shampoo in a previous life. It was... not good. It was only saved by the cheese foam. Cheese foam isn't particularly sweet (in fact, it's kinda salty), but the cheese foam managed to make this otherwise un-ripened mango body wash smoothie sweeter (but barely). I also gave the Galaxy Latte a shot, and it had both disappointing and amazing elements. It was disappointing because it was barely sweet; like a poorly made mocha. And I'm not even someone with a particularly sweet tooth that needs a bunch of sugar, but for an item with the word Galaxy in the title, it was... not out of this world. But what was amazing about it was that it had the best tapioca pearls/balls I've ever had in the Greater OKC area. I keep wanting to refer to boba in the plural as something else. Bobae? Bobi? Bobuses? Anyway, these were the softest, chewiest, most pleasant boba I've had in recent years. All said, it was $13 (after tax + tip) for two meh drinks (with excellent boba). But decent service, so "OK" I guess? Edit: Actually, on second thought, this experience was pretty meh (but for some reason I feed bad about making this a [*][*] review). 1st time here. Found this place because I just happened to Google Boba spots. It was a little hard to find only because there are no signs you can see. It is next door to Auto zone. The guy who helped me at the counter was super nice and helpful. He helped me order. I tried this new drink, the frozen honeydew melon , it is very good. A bit fruity and almost takes like juicy fruit gum. I will definitely order again. The price was much cheaper than Teapioca Lounge. I paid $4.50 with tax and that included boba. They have many other drinks and coffee all reasonably priced. Also, they don't do military discount, but they have student and first responder discounts I really enjoyed the quiet ambiance and loved that students can come here to study in peace too. read more

The strongest, and best tasting coffee I've ever had. That's high praise because I am VERY picky about my Joe. The Galaxy Latte was my choice and man, it was fantastic. It's a very bold blend with a good sweet level that's not overwhelming. Be cautioned though, it has a very high caffeine level. I got it for breakfast and was wired until dinner! Additionally, they frozen drinks are very good. It's always a hit or miss if you're going to get something with a lot of flavor or a lot of ice. Here, it's flavor. The only reason this wasn't a 5 start review is their boba was not ready yet.. at 11:30 am. Really makes the drinks and was too bad they didn't have better planning. This place is pretty cozy! Came here on a Sunday for a little study session and this place was surprisingly pleasant. Wasn't too packed for a Sunday, and the ambience was a nice chill vibe. Coffee is okay - nothing to complain about, but also not the best latte I've had. Price is around the same for most of the cafes here, so pretty decent pricing. But the price for the food is a little high for the size though! We also had a turkey and ham croissant and it was insanely small for the price. Like two bites and you're done kinda small. The pros was that the croissant was pretty good! But I only had two bites so...I don't know if the pros weigh out the cons here. Pros and Cons. We had mango pineapple smoothies with boba, Vietnamese coffee with boba, and the mango fruit tea with cheezo. Vietnamese Coffee was good. Strong. Give it a thumbs up. Smoothies weren't very sweet. It was ok. Boba had great texture. Mango fruit tea with cheezo is an acquired taste. It was our first time trying it. The cheezo foam was different and I liked it but it was my wife's drink and she didn't care for the foam. The kids weren't fans either but it's really a personal preference. My wife thought it was fine when mixed in with the rest of her drink. The tea itself is very subtly sweet. So if you want a really sweet drink, this may not be what you're looking for. Glad we tried it all. The restrooms are very clean which most places can't boast about so I decided to definitely highlight it. :) The reason for the 3 stars is honestly cuz I'm not sure the product is worth the price. For 5 drinks, we spent about $30. If you're wondering why it's because the drinks were between $4.80-$5.75 but you have to pay 50 cents extra to add boba. Probably the priciest boba drinks I've come across. If you're curious about cheezo foam, I'd definitely encourage people to try it out. Amazing find! If you are looking for a delicious iced coffee, specialty drink, tea or any other tasty beverage, this is the place you want to be! You are first greeted by the cutest seating area with numerous live plants that create a relaxing atmosphere. The man behind the counter when we came was so so so sweet and eager to help. They are not doing cold new currently due to COVID and decreased business so my mom, sister, and I all settled on an iced Americano. It was amazing! It gave me an incredible amount of energy and tasted like a sip from heaven. Unfortunately, the location is in north edmond and not super convenient for me or else I would be frequenting this place ALL the time! There were a few people studying inside and it was definately an atmosphere that I would enjoy doing work in. If you happen to find yourself in Edmont and want a delicious energy kick, you must try this place out, you will not be disappointed! I love this place. The atmosphere is cute and trendy. The owner and staff are always so friendly and helpful. Only thing negative about it is the parking. Not a lot of parking spaces and if it's full, you'll have to park in another parking lot across the place. We love to come here for the drinks and the food. This is my go-to spot to buy freshly roasted coffee beans by the bag. They have a nice variety of light, medium, and dark freshly roasted whole bean coffee (which they will happily grind for you, if that's your preference).The staff is always willing to help you find the perfect roast for your taste. They serve certified fair trade, USDA organic, Co-op America approved coffee in 12 oz bags. Their coffee is always freshly roasted (within the past 30 days). Though, most of the time I find roasts that have been masterfully roasted within the past week or so. Use your Keep It Local card to get 10% off your order of whole bean coffee. Wish list item... They've recently switched to new coffee bags. You can no longer see the beans through a window on the bag. I recently picked up a bag which I didn't realize was a light roast because I couldn't see the beans and it wasn't indicated anywhere on the bag. I prefer darker roasts. It would be great if on their new packing they could list light, medium or dark roast so I don't make that same mistake again. read more

I know boba has been a big thing for quite a while now, but up until a couple months ago I hadn't even tried a tea before. My wife and I are now hooked and had not deviated from the first place we really discovered boba. That is, we hadn't deviated until we came across Hi Tea! We were in Edmond one evening and were both craving a boba tea. I hopped on Yelp to find somewhere more local than our normal place, just to try something different, and we happened to stumble on Hi Tea. What a blessing. My daughter and I ran in to get drinks and we're welcomed warmly by the staff who was extremely happy to help us find what we wanted. The drinks came out almost too fast! We loved the atmosphere of the shop and I knew it would be a great place to bring my toddler daughter again on a daddy/daughter date. A few days later I got the chance to do so and though it was a completely different staff than the first time, they were equally as sweet and helpful as we looked for something she would enjoy too! I have visited the Coffee Tree on Danforth in Edmond every Friday for about 9 months to conduct meetings. Typically I or the family I meet with order drinks and food in the middle or towards the end of our meeting. Today, as I walked in, I Set my stuff down and went to the counter to get a cup of water and was told that this establishment does not allow loitering. I explained to the man behind the counter that I and the family was likely about to purchase a drink and just wanted to get my stuff set up first. I also explained that I have held meetings at this coffee shop for months and have always ordered. He then gestures to signs behind me and says that "No loitering is posted everywhere and that if I want to hang out, I should go to the library." It's really unfortunate to know that as a black woman who frequents an establishment, I do not get seen as a regular customer and is immediately accused of loitering upon entering the business. The family and I Have decided to no longer support this business due to racial discrimination, and I would like for the company to be made aware of the type of people that they hire. Update: Apparently two cars are "too many spaces" in their parking lot and you are also not allowed to take up one table for one hour weekly! My student and family also had reward points system at your business, (from ordering so frequently at the end of our meetings) but instead of waiting for someone to order, you acaused me of LOITERING as soon as I entered. As you mentioned, you recognize me and the family, so you might have also recognized that we were going to order at the end of our meeting! I will mention that the girl who works there, always knows to take care of us at the middle/end so we appreciate her. Not only is that bad customer service from the owner of all people, that is racist, and you are a terrible business owner. And for anyone wondering, this is man I mentioned and the owner apparently down below. read more

I've been there numerous times now and while I do keep going back to my same order of either a large black coffee or a Matcha Green Tea Latte, I'm excited to venture out and try a couple more items they have. I have been on a desperate search for a decent cup of joe since moving to Edmond last year and I think I struck gold. It's not bitter and burnt tasting like Starbucks. It's brewed right in front of you so you're guaranteed fresh coffee. Prices are incredibly reasonable for an every day purchase, if you so choose. I had to get some studying done and for whatever reason I just couldn't focus in my apartment at the time. I looked up places to study nearby and came across Coffee Tree. When I arrived I was immediately greeted by a staff member who was very attentive and polite. On the inside it's small but not to the point where I felt like people were right on top of each or in each other's personal space. It was about 4 pm and there were only two other people there which was nice. Later on more people came in including others who were studying for school and a bible study group. Typically I like to study in silence but there was some music playing. The music wasn't too loud and it provided a super chill vibe. I actually really enjoyed whatever that genre was and it put me in the zone while studying. I don't think I've ever typed faster in my life. Coffee Tree is open until 10pm which is great. Lastly, I have to mention that this place had one of the cleanest public restrooms I've ever seen. I definitely will be back to get more studying done soon! read more
