Just moved to the area and needed to find a new groomer. Went by HI doggie via yelp and decided to schedule an appt. Didn't see any website but I might have missed it so we called to schedule. They were nice to open up a spot on the weekend for us and were honest and up front about what the cost might be. The only reason it isn't 5 stars is just because there are kennels full of dogs on the side when you enter behind a gate and it was a very stressful environment for my pupper. Not their fault but it did give us a bit of worry for our high anxious dog. They did an overall awesome job with the groom. Been taking my dog here for a couple years. I used to go to moochi's but their prices kept raising. Hi doggie costs me about $40 to get my dog fully groomed. It takes a very long time I drop her off at 11 AM and sometimes pick her up at 6 PM. Shows she takes her time to do a good job though because my dog is very clean afterwards she puts a bow on her or a bandanna. It looks kind of sketch because the dogs are kept in small cages and they're in there for a very long time and it's a very small store but there is a cap on how many dogs she takes per day. She knows what she's doing and the lady also gives advice for my dog when she has itchy spots. From my dogs reaction, there's not much difference from going to Moochis going to hi doggy she hates them either way. read more

I was disappointed in this place. I called in the morning of for just a nail trim. They were able to put him in an hour before closing. What was disappointing was that he came back bleeding. Not 1 but 2 of his front paw nails were bleeding. Its a simple nail trim... i know its cheap but it's not worth it to see my dog get hurt like that. The guy denied that there was any blood, when there was obviously blood all over his white fur. The lady with my request put iodine and cleaned it up. It was still a sad and tramautic experience. A follow up on the actual teeth cleaning. The teeth cleaning was great! Dropped off my dog at 11:50AM and got a text message at around 1:30PM saying I could come pick my dog up along with saying how much the cleaning was. The cost of the teeth cleaning was $100 flat. I'm not sure how they tally their cost but totally worth the price when comparing to what I was quoted at another place ($400-$500, depending on the teeth and no medication). I forgot to take a before picture but my dog's teeth were very plaque covered. Now they're completely white! Great experience, will come back again. read more

DO NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT TAKE YOUR DOG TO THIS PLACE!!!!! If I could give a negative star I would. I brought my dog for the first and last time last week and Winnie was not friendly at all. She took my dog by the neck leash and put him in the cage directly. She did not ask for his name, nothing. I dropped off my dog at 12pm and she called at 5pm to pick him up. He was in the cage for 5 hours! I don't think that was right. When I picked my dog up, he was traumatized and had a drugged out look. He snapped out of it 6 hours later. This week, I took my dog to the vet for severe bleeding under his arms to find out that he was cut/nicked by the groomer under both! On top of that, Winnie cut her nails too much and he was bleeding. The vet said it was a bad, bad groomer. He had to give me medicine cream so the wounds will heal. I've attached pictures of my dog's cuts.... You can see how bad it is and these pictures were taken a few days later, too. Will NEVER return.. You have been warned. Don't risk it. read more

We've been coming here for about 3 years now. I used to live 5 minutes away making it very convenient to drop off and pick up but have since moved almost 20 minutes away. We will continue to make the drive here because Winnie takes great care of our little "coward lion" Julian. She checks for all the little things and tells us if it'll be a problem for our little prince even though he's just there for a bath and lite trim. I think it's also great that she remembers Julian and what we expect him to look like after a visit. She never fail to deliver. We've taken Julian to two other groomers around the Monterey park and Alhambra area before here and both times they messed up. One time i didn't even recognize my own dog.... One of these days I will actually make an appointment for Julian's visit ahead of time (highly suggested if you want a spot on the weekend). Due to the hectic nature of my occupation, Winnie is actually very accommodating and I truly appreciate that. We've also referred our friend to Hi Doggie for his dog. My princess was so lucky to get groomed by Winnie. [Hi Doggie] is usually booked solid and best to bring your dog in early. I had no time to do it myself when I noticed my dogs nails were so long on this vacation, so a friend suggested I bring her here. Winnie was kind enough to squeeze my baby in for a bath and nail trimming the same day, but she had to wait since she had several dogs in front of her. I totally understood and dropped her off at 1 and was out at 7. She works alone and had several dogs to groom that day. (Booked Solid) but knew I was from out of town and made the exception. Price was very reasonable compared to NorCal. So ask about pricing beforehand as reasonable to me could be different from yours. She was very attentive to my dogs needs and when I picked her up she was did perfectly. Smelled great too. Now I know why my friend brings her dogs here. After talking with Winnie, I found out she really loves dogs and also provides boarding services for little dogs there as well. It was 7pm and closing time when I picked up my princess and I sat in my car to make a few calls, while doing so I saw her walk the dogs from boarding individually around the block before she went home. However, I recently visited this place and eek....it was small, messy, and smelled terrible (way worse than the usual pet places). I don't know if it's standard but I felt so bad for all those dogs in cages that are part of the store's "doggy hotel" service...its just tiny metal cages with no cushion or padding and the small space makes all the barking sooo much louder...you can see several of the dogs visibly stressed and/or scared. I've been going to Moochi's @ Atlantic since my baby Meeko was a puppy. He got his first nail trim there, first bath and first cut. But because Moochi's is a bit far from my home and this place is just down the street, I decided to come in for an estimate and check this place out. WOW.. unbelievable. yelp hasn't really dissapointed me ever but this place really did not live up to it's reviews it's received. I walk in expecting to be "welcomed" and received the complete opposite. There was a man and woman in their early 20's.. both did not say hi or anything.. I tell them that it was my first time and I just wanted to check out what they offered/services. The girl (who was working on a dog, on a single and what seemed to be the ONLY station in the entire small store) walked out to meet Meeko. She seemed to be emotionless and had no smile on. She yanks and pulls on my dog's leash, forcing him to come near her and after pulling for a few seconds she tells me "I cannot do your dog". Uh, lady what do you mean you cannot do my dog? "I cannot help you, he is scared, go to your vet and get him a drug to make him not scared and come back". W-T-F!? I wasn't even going to come here anyway after walking in and seeing how small and disgusting this place is but add in some b*tchy girl with an attitude and you get an unhappy yelper who's going to give you a bad review. Not cool, you do not tell me to drug my dog and come back so you can do something you are not good at. How ridiculous and unprofessional. Go to MOOCHI'S over in Alhambra (on Atlantic St.) They're so friendly over there. Meeko still gets frightened every time he goes there but they take such great care of him.. as for this place, HA. Here's another Yelp find. I usually take my dog to Petco to have his nails trimmed since he runs away when he sees us with the nail clippers. It was raining out and I decided to search Yelp for a local place in the neighborhood and voila..up come Hi Doggie. Called the shop and she said bring him down and in about 10 mins, my dog's nails were trimmed, filed with the dremel tool, and the excess hair trim between the footpads along with an ear cleaning. All for a very reasonable $10. That same service is like $15 without the ear cleaning. The owner is a hard worker and very much an animal lover. I highly recommend this place if your dog needs its nails trimmed. Based on the other reviews, she does a great job cutting and grooming. It's great to be able to support a local small business. i started bringing my poodle here since 3 months ago for dental cleaning. a groomer from super pets in temple city recommended this place since they are one of the few pet parlors that does dental cleaning. The 2 dentists come once a month, every 3rd thursday. so if u miss it, you'll have to wait till the next month. first time i came, it was $70, which is kinda expensive, but my dog never had real professional teeth cleaning so her teeth were stained and ugly. after the first time, her teeth were bright and white. i was so impressed. so now i'm going back every month for maintanence, which is about $15/visit. this place is super tiny, and you can barely notice it. but it really doesn't matter, cuz all the dogs that goes their get their own cage, locked up. service is excellent, and price is reasonable. read more

Grade: F- I went to drop off my two dogs and had to walk out the door because she was obviously trying to rip me off and mistreated my dogs. I would have been fine with paying extra if she would have been more gentle with my dogs. She was very rough with one of my dogs in particular. Instead of trying to gain my dogs trust she yanked his collar and my dog let out a little yelp. Then she grabbed him and put him in the cage and slammed the cage door in his face. The cage could have hit my dog in the nose! After words were exchanged she was more gentle with my other dog. Then she told me the price and from the way she treated my dog, it was definitely not worth it. I would rather pay extra and go to someone who actually knows how to treat animals. Lesson Learned. The asian lady that works there is the owner. She pretty much does everything herself. I brought my medium sized golden doodle dog (35 lbs) there a few times. She does a fairly decent job and is very reasonably priced. It was $40 for bath, grooming, and nails. Initially she said she no longer wanted to groom my dog because he's "too big" for her to handle. Definitely not her fault, she's a small lady and my dog probably had too much energy. We made a deal with her where I would take my dog to the dog park before I took him to groom, and that settled it :) I feel she does a decent job on the grooming, and its a great price. I notice she does an especially good job on the paws of the dog. My dog is not easy to groom, so I give her all the props in the world. If you have a smaller dog (toy to small size), I would recommend this place. read more

I'm surprised I didn't see any review or listing for this place on Yelp. Anyways, I brought my dog (Shiba Inu) here for grooming a couple months ago and was very pleased with the results. I requested for just the basic bath and nails for my dog. Brought my dog in an hour or so after they opened and was already 3rd or 4th on their list of clients. Regardless, they had no problems accepting my dog when I walked in. The original time estimate was typical (pick up around or after 5pm? I forgot) but I was very glad to get their call a couple hours early to tell me that my dog was ready =) Got there and picked him up and paid. The pricing was good, better than his previous place, so I'm happy. I'll be bringing him back here again next time for sure =) read more

We had to take him to the vet because he was throwing up blood and foaming from his mouth. However, the next day, he was fine. So, after taking him to get groomed the first time, we actually didn't think much of it, besides maybe he ate something bad. BUT after the second time with the same problems, it was no coincidence! I seen another review saying their dog looked "drugged up" when they picked their dog up hours later. My dog is well behaved, friendly, and loves to go everywhere. "horrible experience" because dogs bark?? seriously?? dogs were caged normally, nothing strange or inhumane. i've been taking my lhasa apso and pug here for few years now and i love this groomer. small business owner and one-woman show, she does all the washing and trimming. yes, she doesn't give my lhasa the cutest puppy-cut, but my lhasa comes back smelling great, clean, trimmed, and tangle free all for less than 40 bucks. my pug comes back shedding a lot less and her nails are trimmed perfectly. i've been to several groomers in the past for my two dogs and hi doggie is the best. its inexpensive and gets the job done. read more

Took my little yorkie here twice and I thought the service was great! The owner was really nice and did a good job in cleaning my baby :) I dropped her off super early on Sunday around 10ish and was about the 2nd person in line. I got a call to pickup my yorkie before 1 so she totally exceeding my expectations. I've called other places and they make you leave your dog for like 4-5 hours.. so this place is definitely quick! Just make sure to go in early. The owner is just 1 young asian lady and she is always busy with a bunch of dogs. The place is pretty clean and doesn't smell like yuckie dogs which is a plus because I did go to another place to check out the prices before and IT STANK!~! The prices are very reasonable and she has a bunch of photo's with different hair cuts for you to choose from. She also has a bunch of cute doggie accessories. I wish I can give them more stars but I just can't! It's super close to where I live. Practically hop and a skip away, but my recent visit there was quite traumatizing. Usually my boyfriend drops off the dogs for grooming. We have 2 dogs that needed desperate attention in the hair department: my dog Machie and this dog Butter. This time I went along to help pull back the reigns on our crazy, hyper dogs. When we got there the place looked small, much smaller than I would have liked. What I disliked the most is that there was cages right up front where everyone can see. I understand the dogs need to be housed somewhere when waiting for the their turn for grooming, but the cages shouldn't be in the front reception area. The lady there knew we were coming in, quickly cleaned out a cage and put my dog in there. I didn't want to let go. He looked so sad in there. He didn't bark or anything, he just sat there and looked at us through the cage until my boyfriend made me leave. It was THE WORST feeling ever, felt like I was abandoning him. She quickly cleans out another for the other dog, and the poor thing was so scared he peed on the floor as the lady took him away. The lady was nice and the place is really busy, so busy that we had to wait a week for our appointment. But the main reason for the 3 stars instead of 4 is because my dog came back with spots of really long hair. It's super obvious too, not just my perfectionism kicking in. They were literally 5 inches longer than the rest of the cut and now I got to wait until he's tired for me to snip them away. On top of that, the nails were wayyyy too short. I know she's really busy and all running a one woman show, but I wish there was more attention to details and that she didn't hurt my dog. Price was decent, my dog had really bad knots so the cut was around $40ish. More if he had a bad temperament, but he doesn't. When I came up to the counter to pay it was $100 (not including tip) for all three; I was surprised since 2 of them were very hairy and one very tangled.
