I wanted some electrical work done, I called three different companies. Mike was the only one who returned my call and came out to give me an estimate. He then emailed me the estimate. Since I still haven't received a call from the the two companies. I told Mike that he got the job. Mike and his two man crew showed up on time and I was very impressed with the quality of the work and I ended up paying a lot less than his estimate. That to me is unheard of! We hired Hi Amp Electrical to repair some broken switches and overall problems with our systems. On the second day of work, an employee began to loudly complain about the job and rant and rave to his assistant in front of my mother. He even went so far as to call her a "pig" and make judgements about our home and lifestyle. This left my 75 year old mother in tears. To be upfront our home has a large amount of clutter inside due to an ongoing medical situation, but it is unacceptable for anyone, let alone someone who calls themselves a professional to treat people in this manner. And the work being done was actually outside the home not on the inside. The owner stated that he would be letting the employee go and I can only hope this is the case. Just be cautious. read more

061524 I really appreciate Mike's electrical service from HI AMP Electric. I had developed faulty wiring in my septic system, between the house outside panel and the pump chamber pump electrical box mounted inside the riser under the green lid. He quickly diagnosed the problem, we both had hoped it was a faulty breaker, but that was not the problem. I had called other electricians before I found out about Mike, but one after the other, they never followed through on coming to the house to actually do the job. In addition, he was referred by my septic company who originally came to look at the problem after the 'very loud':) outside pump chamber failure alarm went off. ( mounted on the outside of our house with the little red light on top) and the septic guy said we would need an electrician to come and take a look at it. Mike kept in touch with me via text . Confirmed we were still on for the appointment and time, showed up on time with his helper, and in this particular case, he was done in about 40 minutes with the wiring. He came over initially on his first visit before, earlier, to diagnose only because he needed to come back with a helper to pull the wire. He did not charge for that first visit in this case. For both visits he was on time, friendly, courteous, very knowledgeable, and he was willing to take on a very small electrical job, with a smile on his face. And I thought his final price was very reasonable given everything I said above. I would use him again in the future and I can highly recommend him for all the reasons I went over above:). read more

We thought we needed a 3 phase Generator for our 3 phase well pump but Mike was able to get a switch that makes our single phase generator run the 3 phase well pump by just plugging into regular generator. Mike called me after hours. After I explained the problem I was experiencing he made a suggestion for a simple fix that worked flawlessly.

We had Mike install 2 recessed lights in bathroom, 3 recessed lights in kitchen and install lighted fan in bathroom. Mike's bid was reasonable and he showed up when scheduled. When he made the bid he forgot to measure size of recessed lights in kitchen, so when he showed up for the work, he brought the wrong size fixtures. It took a couple of weeks before he was able to finish the job. And for some unknown reason he switched parts on one of the recessed lights in the kitchen so that particular light was recessed significantly more that the others. The good: prices are reasonable, he shows up on time. The not-so-good: lacks attention to detail and to the finished look of the job. read more

Very unprofessional. Came out to the house to fix 3 outlets. For some reason ended up digging in a light switch that he wasn't asked to get into. Ended up losing light in two of our rooms. Left very abruptly with a vague comment that he would have to come out the next week. When my mom called him that same day, he never returned her phone call. Emailed him the following Monday to ask when he would be able to return. Immediately received a response that he was out of state and that I should hire someone else to fix the problem that he created. When my mom called him and said she was going to make a claim against his bond, he started texting her at work and emailed me a highly rude and harassing email. Clearly this is not a good electric company. Highly unprofessional and harassing. Would not recommend at all. read more

I had a shadow day with these guys, so i got to see how they work behind the scenes and these guys know what their doing. The customer they were working for on a large project seemed to be extremely happy with the way things were going and i could see why. They work hard all day long and had everything planned, and on top of all that, they didn't skip steps to save a buck. If anything, they played it safe and did things higher than code asks for just to be sure. If i was getting electrical work done on any scale, i would hire these guys. read more
