Terrible Experience with Refund and Customer Service I had an extremely frustrating experience with this company. They have been a nightmare to deal with. I informed the company I was not moving forward with my laser treatment plan with one of their affiliated laser clinics and canceled my subscription before undergoing any treatment or service - so I received no actual service from any entity. I was issued an official refund receipt from the laser clinic via email detailing that I was entitled to a full refund back to my original payment method. However, 6 months later, I still have not received any actual refund back to my credit card. I've made countless attempts to resolve this issue by calling Healthcare Finance Direct, their affiliated financing company, but their customer service is unresponsive and dismissive. I've made all efforts to provide supplemental documentation. Every time I call, I'm told someone will "get back to me soon," but no one ever follows up or provides meaningful updates. It's clear they have no intention of prioritizing customer concerns or resolving issues in a timely manner. This lack of accountability is unacceptable, especially for a company dealing with healthcare and financial transactions. I regret ever doing business with them and strongly advise others to look elsewhere to avoid the stress and wasted time I've experienced. read more

I reported them to BBB and they refunded me the first time and then double charged me again in February and I reported them to the attorney General of California, which directed me to the Department of business oversight in Sacramento. You are much better with crooked teeth than allowing Smile direct club to finance you through these degenerate abhorrent utter thieves. They double charge everyone twice a month it seems from the comments preceding. They have the worse customer service, who are really incompetent. Every month I see bogus charges on my Bank card coming from these hooligans. Because you can only do autopay, they take whatever money they want, whenever they want, from customer accounts. Then they send multiple threatening emails and texts of past due and your past due amount increases exponentially every single day. So on Monday your fake "past-due" amount would be $80, but on Wednesday it would be "190" and on Friday it could be "$350". Its a total scam they are running out of their office down there in California. Doesnt California have any business regulations? I came in contact with the company by using Smile Direct Club. I have called them 3x in the last 3 months regarding an issue the Smile Direct Club not cancelling my membership. Each time the representative from HFD has been clear, personable and connected me to the proper person at SDC. They have also kept a clear record of my calls. However today, my representative Alexis whose supervisor is Dora went ABOVE and BEYOND!!!! Alexis recognized my stress and need to try to get things cleared up by SDC. She stayed on the connected call with me to SDC for 1 hr, through 2 representatives. She was professional, calm, and compassionate. Huge THANK YOU Alexis!!! You were so important to moving my concern forward and represented your company with empathy and excellence. If there is a way for Alexis to directly receive appreciation or credit from HFD, she is deserving. If she is any indication of employees hired by HFD, what a good job and kudos to the company. read more

I had financing with them through Smile Direct. Initially was great, but I made a large final payment in the full amount and then it still showed a balance of 21.17. When I called to ask why they said they had a monthly fee associated with the account, everything but that fee was included in the total and that I would need to make a second payment to close the account. I didn't mind paying the fee if it had been disclosed initially, but to pay the whole balance and then show a remaining was frustrating. I had to call, wasted an hour on the phone, they wouldn't get the manager, they just left me on hold. Every other fee was disclosed except this, and it felt very misleading. At the very least they could change around their format so they don't keep upsetting people this way. They were not helpful is resolving, just left me on hold until I hung up. read more

I lost my wallet on vacation and ended up having to cancel all my cards which resulted in them trying to pull a payment for Smile Direct on a bad card. I used the online chat and spoke with Alexis, she put a note on my account and let me know the past due balance. Once my new card comes in I'll be able to make a payment online and update any payment details. Very quick and easy resolution to a stressful problem I had been dealing with. read more

The people at HFD, and especially Kandace Kranenberg, are very helpful. She went above and beyond to help solve my issue and was pleasant and prompt the entire time. I was admittedly a bit cranky at first because I was charged for a fee that I did not owe. She didn't lose her cool with me, but was calm and helpful.
