I financed through HFD and have made every payment on time since the beginning of my loan. My account is set up on autopay directly through my bank account. At some point, a payment failed to process due to an issue on HFD's end. When I received notice of the problem, I immediately contacted HFD my phone and was told the issue had been resolved. It was not. Since then, I have made multiple attempts to resolve this issue. When I log into the HFD website, my account says that it's current and up to date... but I am unable to add or restore my bank account information, which appears to have been removed - which I did not do. I also contacted my bank directly, and they confirmed that nothing has changed on my end and that there is no issue with my account information. Despite this, HFD continues to send late notices and threats of collections. I contacted customer service again and was once more assured that the issue had been fixed. Again, it was not. The late notices continue, and late fees are being added to my account. What is particularly frustrating is that HFD claims they do not have access to my banking information and that my account information is incorrect, but they've been charging the same account late fees. The explanations I have gotten via email have been inconsistent and have not addressed the problem at all. They just keep telling me to call - which I will not do because, as we've learned, it's futile... and now I want everything in writing for when I need to report them or take further action. I have written documentation showing that I have repeatedly contacted HFD in good faith and made multiple attempts to make my payments and resolve this issue. At every step, I have been met with inaccurate information, failed resolutions, and a lack of any real assistance. This situation reflects an alarming level of disorganization and poor customer service for a company responsible for managing money. All I want to do is pay them and they won't let me! I want to share a serious privacy concern about Healthcare Finance Direct (HFD). After applying for financing, HFD emailed me and asked me to send a photo of my Social Security card by email. As a software engineer familiar with security, I consider this very risky. Email is not a secure way to send something as sensitive as a Social Security card, and if that email account is ever hacked or mishandled, it can expose a person to identity theft. I raised my concerns and asked for my personal information to be removed, but I did not receive a clear confirmation that my data. This practice shows poor data-security standards. read more

Absolutely Predatory and Deceptive Lending If I could give zero stars, I would. Healthcare Finance Direct facilitated a $9,000 loan through my dental office without providing any loan agreement, payment schedule, or disclosure of terms beyond one email. I was hit with an APR of nearly 18% for 72 months, and later discovered that part of the loan was applied to an Invisalign treatment I never received or authorized. When I tried to dispute the loan or reallocate funds to actual services performed, I was given the runaround. I ended up paying over $4,600 out-of-pocket on top of the loan -- for treatment I thought was already covered. They make it intentionally difficult to cancel or pause payments. For those looking to regain control, I discovered that changing your bank and routing numbers to placeholder values (e.g., all 0s or all 9s) in the portal will break the auto-draft until you can resolve the issue another way. (Obviously, do this at your own risk and be prepared to call them or report to collections.) This company takes advantage of patients at vulnerable moments, with zero transparency, terrible customer service, and a strong whiff of predatory lending. I've filed complaints with the CFPB and will continue pursuing formal remedies. Avoid this lender at all costs -- and read every word of your dental financing documents before signing, if you manage to even get them. Better yet, ask for a copy of everything in writing. read more

This rating really is only a reflection on Jessica Garza who helped me in the end. She really deserves a 5* but I did not want to forget the 5 other individuals I spoke with prior. One of the other 5 was good but still did not get to the root of my issue. 4 of the other 5 were slightly rude and did not really listen to my issue and then repeated the same information to me several times almost annoyed at me as if I were stupid. Jessica listened, figured out the issue, and although I ALSO had to send a copy of my Social which felt very uncomfortable, it did resolve the issue and my loan which I had been paying on was now at my access for my son's dental work. This company is a rip-off. They abuse elderly people by telling lies. I had 2,000 dollars from my Health Insurance, and I went to Sage Dental in Orlando, Florida, for a cleaning. This procedure was covered by my Insurance but the dental hygienist told me this procedure was not covered because I needed anesthesia. I owed them $368.00, and according to them, if I get a loan with them for any other procedure that I needed to do, I will get financed the portion that my insurance did cover, and I will NOT be charged interest for two years if the balance amount is paid in full within the two years. But I never finished my mouth with them because THEY NEVER used the money that I have with my plan, even though I have $ 2,000 to spend. I called my Insurance and they said that my Insurance NEVER received any paperwork from them. The interest Rate is almost 30 % even if I have been paying every month, and it looks like I haven't paid because of the high interest. I deeply regret financing through HFD (formerly Healthcare Finance Direct). I was steered into this company by my dental provider, even though I was ready to pay out-of-pocket or with my own credit card. They promised 0% interest and a $1,000 discount, but it was all a setup. I never received the treatment I was financing. My trays weren't ready, appointments were delayed, and when I asked to cancel, I was told I couldn't because it was a "lab case." HFD assured me I wouldn't be charged during the dispute process, then charged me anyway. Worse, they used a different billing name to sneak past the stop payment I placed with my bank. Then they changed my interest rate to nearly 29% without my consent, despite the 0% offer they used to lure me in. I've filed complaints with multiple agencies and had to close a long-standing bank account just to stop unauthorized access. Neither HFD nor the provider ever investigated or cared about my side. They continue billing for services I never received. This company is predatory. Their rebrand doesn't fix their behavior, it hides it. If you're being offered financing through "HFD," do yourself a favor and use your own bank or credit card. This has been a nightmare. I have only just started working with HFD and can already tell, I made a mistake. I was trying to make a payment and it wouldn't allow me to and said one was scheduled. I figured it was on autopay automatically so I called customer service to ask to be taken off of auto pay. The customer service representative, Alejandro, informed me that was Not Possible. I paused and thought maybe I heard him wrong so I repeated it...You mean I cant pay my bill when I want too?, He said no. I asked, there is no way to be taken off auto pay? Again he said no. I paused once more and said, that is madness. He asked if he could help me with anything else and I said no but I will take the survey and he hung up on me. I have been making all my payments, even though I didn't finish my treatment because they went out of business.. my balance never seems to decrease and then when I called, they said that I've missed payments and I had late payments which is totally not true because my bank statement says they are all paid. I subscribed to Smile Direct Club in March of 2023, and began using their liners that summer. By the time I was scheduled to finish my liners, the company had declared bankruptcy and ghosted all of its customers - I was not even able to fix my teeth because without the retainers required by the company to 'ensure' my success with their product, I would need their retainers. But they did not provide those, instead ghosting their customers - and now HFD is harassing all of their former customers, demanding funds for something that Smile Direct Club did not live up to. This is a predatory finance company. I will never finance through them again. They financed my account with Smiles Direct. I set up auto pay and paid with my Health Savings debit card. 2 payments from my work were lost in the mail and did not post to my HSA. Thus my payment with Healthcare Finance Direct declined. I was charged a $25 late fee (understandably) I was also charged a $25 NSF (excuse me!) A debit card decline costs them $0. So now I have $50 in fees on top of my $89 payment. I didn't have the money to pay the payment plus fees and my account remained past due as I tried to catch up. I was charged 2 more late fees $25 each and 2 more NSF $25 each before I could get caught up. I'm a single mom, this company profited $75 in fees that they didn't actually incur. This is wrong. Not only that, but even though they are partnered with Aspen, they refuse to help me with any of the problems I've had with Aspen. Aspen pulled teeth that were never supposed to have been pulled. I was supposed to have dentures made, which the first set didn't fit at all. Never made me the second set, yet charged my for both.
