This restaurant feels a little hidden, I wouldn't have known it was here if my daughter hadn't been invited by a friend. The food was good, restaurant was clean, but some things were not desirable. For example, no refills, you have to pay if you want a refill because they use canned drinks. They don't tell you this ahead of time, but there is a $10 minimum to use your credit or debit card so if you want a refill you have to pay $10 or have cash. In the end, if you like this type of cuisine, the food is great and you should check it out, just be aware of some of the other charges and required minimum to use a card. read more

Just had an excellent experience with one of the owners of HEW. Following a threat to have a vehicle towed, the female owner came out while discussing the lack of courtesy regarding how a vehicle was parked with the vehicle owner, about how one of their misguided patrons was threatening to call a tow truck instead of a 10' walk to an adjacent business to ask for a vehicle to be moved, the owner came out of the business and decided it was appropriate to throw around the f bomb, including flipping off both myself and the owner of the vehicle in question, after the vehicle had already been moved without incident. I will also note that HEW regularly uses spices from the plants in front of their business where cigarette ashes are deposited and people spit, on their food. Before I decided to no longer give HEW my business, I also found what I have to assume is buckshot in a dish containing chicken. The food is overpriced and the owners are nasty people who hold a grudge against the adjacent business for being more successful. I wouldn't recommend even my worst enemy to eat here. Note: the reason I decided to stop taking my business here is because of an incident where an elderly couple who needed a cane and walker to get around parked in a parking spot reserved for customers of the business, the same female owner came outside and asked if I knew the elderly couple after holding the door for them, then asked me to go inside the adjacent business to ask the handicap elderly couple to move their vehicle when there were no spots available in the parking lot. The lack of humanity alone is reason enough to take your business anywhere else. read more

Housed in an unassuming strip mall in the middle of nowhere Midway, GA, 30 minutes from Savannah, Hew was an unexpected made from scratch family-run Asian fusion surprise for somebody who's been craving authentic Thai cuisine in the Savannah area. The name is inspired by the Thai word for hungry, and make sure you are when you come here. Because you are going to want to try a variety of their yummy dishes - from Thai (green and red curries) to Korean (bulgogi and kim chi) to Japanese (tonkatsu) to Vietnamese (pho), there is something for everybody, and they even have a specials board. I was impressed with the fact that they serve Thai green milk tea, something which I have rarely found outside of Thailand. And they even sell some imported Thai snacks. The food was fresh, flavorful and delicious, with a punch of spice that cleared out my sinuses, although the owners informed me that they are able to adjust the spice level to people's requests. Clearly, I love it spicy! The meat was tender and it tasted like everything was made with attention to detail. Added bonus for you bubble tea lovers: they serve bubble tea and make the popping boba with fresh fruit juice. On talking to the friendly family who owns and runs this local eatery, I found out that Ann, Brian and Brianna pay attention to good quality ingredients, do not use MSG and value authenticity. The decor is absolutely delightful, and the gorgeous colors are reminiscent of Thailand. This place is well worth a trip from Savannah because it's actually tastier and more authentic than any of the Thai places I have found in the Hostess City. This is a very welcome addition to the restaurant offering in this area. The food is wonderful - flavorful and hand made whole you wait. The staff is exceptionally attentive and make the experience as wonderful as the food. Am a big fan of the bulgogi and the roasted pork soup, but everything I have tried has been tasty and hearty. Have been coming for months, and just heard they got their beer/wine license. So can recommend for lunch or dinner for sure read more

I reviewed this restaurant several months ago and was very impressed. So today my wife and I decided that when church ended we would invite our pastor, his wife and four children to lunch here. Wow, we were not disappointed! The moment we walked in the owner recognized me from our previous visit and welcomed us with open arms (how can someone remember anyone that's been there only once, plus it's been several months?). We all got seated and she brought an electronic menu over to show everyone what her food looked like! It all looked so delicious, it was hard to choose. I chose the garlic shrimp with rice and a sunny side up fried egg. Others chose bulgogi, beef chow main, beef lo mein. When my garlic shrimp came out it looked exactly and I do mean exactly what the picture looked like and the taste, flavor would just plan knock your socks off!! Everyone commented how great and wonderful their food was! As I said in my earlier review, this is a small out of the way place but with HUGE flavors, WONDERFUL home cooked food. You cannot find anything better anywhere than this place! I highly recommend this restaurant, I promise you can't or better said will not go wrong coming here and enjoying this cute wonderful place! Not much to see from the outside but once you open the doors it's as cute of a place ever, the owner and staff are great and so welcoming. Try them out, you won't go wrong!!! read more
