Hester is absolutely amazing. I was completely overwhelmed and feeling helpless with my life situation. I was feeling sad and exhausted all the time. Hester helped me turn all of that around. She helped me regain my confidence, and gave me the tools to handle and overcome my anxiety. I feel like a new person. Hester is truly gifted, genuine, and able to help you understand your feelings. I learned a lot about myself in the process, and I now face life as a relaxed and happy person. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants to improve their situation. She's that good! I had an intro session with Hester 2 weeks ago, and I felt wonderful even after 20 minutes speaking with her. I immediately connected. I started having panic attacts and anxiety attacks in 2021 as the body was constantly in flight or fight response since moving abroad. We had 3 sessions so far and I am learning how to trust life. I am not going to lie, it wasn't easy, but Hested helped me trust her, and sessions little by little. She made me feel seen and heard, and gave me faith it's all doable. We are still working on tools and this is not an overnight fix, but continuing to work with her will help me, help myself and trust life fully. I feel better than 3 weeks ago. It's an adjustement. :) read more

I have had two sets of 3 sessions with Hester, once in 2022 and once this year (2024). I had sought out help for a debilitating nail and cuticle-biting problem. Hester's guidance and treatment made me understand and address the much deeper anxiety problems in my subconscious that I was not even aware of. The night after our first ever session, I had the deepest, best sleep I had had in a long time. I revisited her in 2024 because I had felt I had started to regress, but also did not have the anxiety I had felt before. Hester helped me discover that there were other, smaller internal sources outside of anxiety that contributed to manifestation into a physical habit for me and helped me learn and practice other, healthy coping mechanisms. Her patience, calm voice, and judgement-free zone allowed me to fully immerse and get the best experience possible. I also appreciated that the sessions were over Zoom so that I could take them from a comfortable, safe space at home (she would even encourage me to lie down, take the meetings from bed, or do whatever I needed to do to make myself most comfortable). I highly recommend Hester and her hypnotherapy practice for bad habit and anxiety treatment. Now, I feel a peace within myself I did not know was possible - and my nails are long and beautiful! read more

I worked with Hester last summer on my fear of flying and turbulence. I've noticed a big difference in my anxiety level since completing our sessions. I was able to go on Safari in Kenya where the domestic flights were on tiny planes... landing on DRIT RUNWAYS! I would recommend Heater's services if you are looking to manage anxiety read more

I heard about Hester through a friend who described her sessions as "worth every penny." And it was true. I was going through a transitory phase in my life -- living situation, career, location, etc. I turned to Hester because I wanted to tackle my situation on a different level, not just through talk therapy. What I appreciated about her method was that she was reading in between the lines, I didn't need to explain much to her. She just got it. It was a new experience that felt exactly like what I needed. We had three sessions and by the third, there was a breakthrough. Everything I needed to know was in me all along, and she simply revealed it. I totally recommend Hester to anyone asking questions and not finding the answers. read more

This review is wayyyy overdue and there isn't enough words to say how amazing Hester is at her work. She's truly something special. My best friend recommended her to me as she was seeing Hester herself. She figured that I could use hypotherapy as way to relieve or manage my anxiety better. I took my chance and was glad I did. Hester did more than help me manage my anxiety. She helped me realize my core issues that have wreaked havoc in my life for years and helped me face them. She helped me heal my inner child. Within 4 sessions I feel like a new person and feel like I'm experiencing life as my true self. If you're looking for someone who can help you navigate through the inner workings of your mind and your soul, she's truly the person to see. I promise you that you won't regret it. read more

I sought out hynotherapy when I didn't feel that I was getting alot out of therapy. Not to say that therapy doesn't have its place, but I personally wanted to move ahead with my issues instead of just talking about them and having someone listen. I thought maybe hypnotherapy could help. I am an acupuncturist and I have been in practice for 18 years serving patients so my idea of a practitioner is very high. Thats when I found Hester. I absolutely LOVE working with Hester. She is extremely intuitive and to the point. She is smart, direct and comforting. With each session, I feel more grounded and something transformational happens. I want to be the best that I can be as a person, mother, practitioner and wife as well as daughter and sister. She helps me get through my "stuff". Everyone needs a wellness tribe and she is certainly part of mine. I HIGHLY recommend her. She is the BEST. read more

Hester is an absolute master at her craft, I am grateful to be working with someone who has a unique perspective on life and the life challenges address. As someone who has been working on their mental health diligently for 10+ years, I can still say I leave each session feeling like I've learned something new about myself! read more

I am very thankful to Hester for working with me through some things I had difficulty processing on my own. We did a few sessions and I felt that I made progress from every session with Hester, and was certainly able to get deeper than I would have- had I not gone to her. The perspective and support she offered to me was gentle and enriching, I felt safe, and what was important to me is that in these sessions we would go deeper into my own experiences and universe of imagery -rather than sourcing from outside (something I felt cautious about, going in)- while she also offered helpful tips. So I can truly say for me these sessions enriched my life and were so worth it. Virtual connection was not an issue. For anyone looking, based on my experience I would really recommend Hester. read more

I'm new to hypnotherapy and Hester made me feel really comfortable in our sessions together. I came to her with issues I wanted to solve thinking that going into my past lives would be the solution, but Hester guided me and helped me understand that what I expressed has to do with my current life. Hester helped me dig deep to understand my feelings and through that I found peace I was looking for. I learned so much about myself and relationships and would recommend Hester as she's truly gifted! read more

Calming and intuitive, Hester will give you the space to exist and recall the truths you've forgotten. She is able to pick up on something stirring within you, and has the courage to ask what you might not have answers to yet. With her seemingly infinite patience, she will guide you through exploring these feelings. Throughout the sessions, and with her guidance, you will learn to do the same. You'll have the ability to form a resonant connection to these feelings through hypnosis. Hester will guide you though journeying within, and with these connections, you will gain the insight to be able to activate, dissolve, or transmute whatever comes up I came to her feeling lost and disoriented, apprehensive of my feelings and dubious of the decisions I would make as a result. Through only three sessions, I've already been able to begin incorporating what I've learned about myself to help me navigate the significant and difficult relationships in my life Book the free initial consultation with her... you'll see for yourself read more

I went into hypnotherapy without any expectations and what I learned is that the process helps to uncover *what you already know.* Right from the consultation phone call, Hester helped me identify information that was so readily available in my subconscious and visual world. My background and practice are art based and I have always had trouble with talk therapy but needed an outlet so badly. Working in this way, so focused on visuals, was incredibly helpful to me and made ideas I thought were so lofty and unattainable seem very navigable and realize that I already had the tools I needed. Hester is patient and human and I am so grateful to have worked with her and to know this practice and person are here in the future. Thank you, H. read more

My 3 sessions with Hester were amazing and I recommend doing the package. I was interested in Hypnotherapy, but I wasn't sure what to expect. I had a session with Hester recently with no particular expectations about hypnosis and how it's supposed to be done. Hence, I let it happen naturally. I was not disappointed at all because of this and because Hester is a wonderful person and makes you very comfortable and "at home". She made me realize something about myself that is truly important and helpful. I think every person should try this at least once in their lifetime! I am sure there are other wonderful professionals out there but I highly recommend Hester. read more

I had amazing sessions with Hester. She really understands to root out the core problem and then work on a solution that works for you. She taught me several super helpful techniques, that allow me to keep working on myself even after the sessions. Hester is very knowledgeable, intuitive and supportive. In only three sessions she guided me to understand key issues that I did not even consider. Hester made the most of every minute we had together all my questions and pointed the way for me to continue on my path with so much wisdom. read more

I've been struggling hard for years to get past some major creative resistance & mental blocks around a particular big, long-term project - it all felt so paralyzingly emotionally loaded for me, but important enough to push past. Going into psychotherapy again didn't feel like the right solution, and I looked into creative coaches and no one really impressed me (I didn't think they could handle my demons - ha!). My beloved chiropractor mentioned hypnotherapy offhandedly and something clicked for me so I looked into it. Hester came recommended by another highly regarded hypnotherapy expert, and when I read about her approach it just felt like exactly what I was looking for. From our very first session I experienced a major shift in perspective, attitude, and effectiveness, and after the second session I had an even bigger shift. She was able to help me identify the major issue beneath my articulated issue, and then to address that head on. I don't fully understand how it works (although Hester does explain things clearly and answers any questions I may have) but I know that it's made a big difference for me and I don't want to break it! I can't recommend Hester highly enough. read more

If you have been curious about hypnosis or maybe been wanting to try a different method of therapy, you really should book a session (or 3!) with Hester! I have tried a few other types of therapy for my anxiety in the past, and though helpful, the things I learned didn't seem to stick in a way I needed it to, which is why I decided to give hypnotherapy a try. I wanted to wait until I had 3 sessions with Hester to leave a full review of the experience I've had with her. I had gone to my first session with no real expectations and an open mind and I was blown away! Hester was immediately warm and inviting, and I felt completely at ease with her. She has a very great spirit and was very attentive to my concerns. Each of my sessions for me felt like a natural conversation, which was pleasantly calming and different to what I was used to. Hester was able to help me find the source of my concerns and after our sessions, I honestly felt calm, light and ready to take on the world with a new perspective. Since starting our sessions, my thought process and behavior has been so much easier to navigate and I'm so thankful. I am SO happy I took a chance, this by far has been the most enjoyable and successful form of therapy I have experienced to date. Hester truly is a skilled woman who has a real gift for hypnotherapy and deserves to be raved about! read more

Hester is a gifted hypnotherapist and I am so glad that I decided to bite the bullet and give it a try! Hester is amazing. She is one of those rare people who understands how to be in sync with another. She is all about her client; never about herself in this process. I just go with it and come away so much more relaxed and clear headed. read more

For quite some time I have been wanting to see a hypnotherapist in the hopes that I could gain a greater sense of awareness and control of my trauma. I was given a gift voucher to see Hester and at first I was nervous because I knew I was ready to delve in deeper and find the root of my trauma but its hard enough accepting that in order to solve the problem you have to face the issue let alone with a complete stranger who knows nothing of you or what your circumstances are. That was not the case in any way when it came to Hester. From the very instant I walked into her office she welcomed me as a friend and helped me to feel safe and comfortable through every phase of the session and for every other session (3) I had the pleasure of sharing with her. As I expected, I was able to finally gain a deeper awareness and acceptance of the situations which caused me so much pain thanks to Hesters' warm and empathetic nature. She guided me through each pivotal moment and made sure I knew I was not alone and safe. She is absolutely amazing and I am blessed beyond measure to have been able to work with her and be freed of my trauma. If you are looking to find closure or gain more stability in dealing with your trauma in a safe, professional and relaxed environment then you will be in the right place with Hester. Thank you Hester. You are a blessing and beyond. Namaste xo read more

I have to say, I was very skeptical, as is probably quite common. However, I had nothing to lose as my concerns couldn't get any worse. I try to save my yelp reviews for amazing people and spaces. Hester Lubin and Leap Ahead hypnosis are the perfect example of both. Upon meeting Hester at her space in 29th street I knew I was not going to regret my decision of trying hypnotherapy for the first time. Hester is friendly, warm and professional. She answered all of my questions and guided me through the process of hypnosis. After the session, I left the space feeling renewed and free from an emotional weight I had been carrying around for quite a while. Hester changed my life completely in JUST TWO SESSIONS! For the last 5 years I had all the time this strange and very uncomfortable feeling that I am unsafe, without really knowing where that feeling came from in the first place. That feeling made my life miserable. I tried psychotherapy, medication, yoga, acupuncture... That all helped, but only temporary. With Hester it was completely different. I was very skeptical at first, and I had a lot of prejudices towards hypnotherapy. But she healed me in JUST TWO SESSIONS. That feeling of being unsafe is completely gone now, today I am a new person! I wish I haven't waited so long to try hypnotherapy. Don't be afraid to try it: even if Hester guides you through your deepest memories, you'll be completely aware of everything and in total control of your body and of your mind. It is more like meditation, and you can stop anytime you want. read more

I found Hester through Yelp. Wow! She is amazing. Having never been to a hypnotist before I didn't know what to expect. Her warm demeanor immediately put me at ease. The process is very organic and natural - nothing like what is portrayed on tv. You do the work while Hester is a more of a catalyst to guide you in the right direction. I went three times and I found it life changing. A new perspective on my life. I found my behavior changing in positive ways without really making a conscious effort to change those behaviors. Hester provided methods that I can use on my own to tap into all of the resources I have within me. I'm grateful to Hester for what she has provided - a life changing experience! read more
