They are so friendly here but don't ever count on them being on time or not having to reschedule because you appliances aren't ready. I have never had an appt where they are on time. Plan on your appointment running minimum 20 minutes late every time. It is frustrating having to wait when you schedule an appointment. Apologies are not enough. Be on time. read more

hi, I am one of their patients for almost 3 years now. First they put me on Invisalign instead of braces even though I had a rotated tooth and then they were going to switch it to Braces and charge me $800 but I am talkEd to Dr.Hess and he continue to do my treatment. The problem with this place is that they don't pay attention to anything less if you don't tell them. like today I supposed to be done with them but then yesterday I watched a YouTube video and explained that your teeth should be aligned. My teeth are not aligned and THEY completely ignore that and wanted me to move on and finish my treatment. so now, after 3 years, I have to wear my braces for another 4 to 6 months so they can fix my alignment. ugh! also another issues that you have to wait forever in the hall during your appointment. for example, if your appointment is at 2;00 PM and they will take you in at 2:30 PM or 2:45 PM. From the minute we walked in to the minute we walked out of there...5 STAR SERVICE ALL THE WAY! I am so pleased that my sons dentist referred us to Hess Orthodontics. I was impressed the moment I opened the door. We were greeted by the receptionist that had a smile on her face the entire time. She was extremely helpful with getting my paperwork in order and even scheduled our next appt to another referring partner of theirs that does oral surgery. As I sat there filling out my paperwork, an assistant came out, introduced herself to the both of us and explained to my son that she needed to take him to the back to get all of his images taken. 3-D and all!! Yes! So off he went for a few minutes. They have a great little coffee area for the patients/parents to enjoy...I'm talking GOOD coffee selection. Look through the selections, touch the screen and voila...you have instant coffee, hot chocolate, latte or flavored coffees. I noticed that on the neon board to my left was all the names listed for their new patients. I was surprised to see my sons name on it! Very cool. He enjoyed it also. I made sure to show him once he came back from getting his fancy photos taken. A few minutes had passed and we were both escorted to the back to talk to Kristi about the procedures that take place to get the braces and what options we have. What I really enjoyed was that everything was revolved around my son. They all made sure to build a good rapport with him. Kristi is the one you'll see to discuss the photos that were taken and pricing details before the Doctor comes in and talks in more detail on what he will be doing to improve your smile. My son had an issue with one of his baby teeth and Doctor Hess pulled it out THAT day while we were there for the consultation. That was awesome and such a relief for him. Dr. Hess was thorough on the procedure, the images that were taken and what to expect throughout. It's a relief when everything is explained. Once my son left the room to get his tooth pulled, Kristi and I discussed the cost, dental insurance to be applied, and payment options for the braces. Now, as every parent knows....braces are not cheap. However, they DO work with you and have payment options...so you DO have something to work with. These brackets are custom made and take roughly 6 weeks for them to be completed. My son is so excited to finally have them placed and I can not wait to see the end result. After all, the money being spent is going to be well worth it. I trust Dr. Hess and his associates to give my son the perfect smile! read more

This place is the most expensive place I have found! I was referred by my dentist so I just stayed with them the amount of my sons braces were 6,200.00. That being said the staff was always amazing and the doctors spent time with my son when had questions they had answers and always very pro.pt when showing up for our appointment. Used to be great, now total scamsters. My first son went there 8 years ago for normal braces. 2 years later, pretty nice straight teeth. Cost = $5,000. Fast Forward 3 years, we took our second son there. Dr. Hess proceeds to tell me that they don't do normal braces anymore and my son will benefit from their new style braces because they no longer take 2+ years to straighten teeth, it can now be done in 1 year or less and oh by the way, it's double the price ($9500) 2 1/2 years later, there we were with braces still on. When we finally got them off, they don't even offer 1 free replacement retainer like my first son got. Instead, they now offer a lifetime subscription plan so you can always get another retainer. They tried to convince me that they don't give the 1st replacement free anymore because their lifetime replacement plan is much better. Don't be fooled, all it is a way to ensure you literally never stop paying them. EVER. Total garbage and scam. Previously I would have recommended, now absolutely not. Don't be fooled by the sales pitch. It's totally inaccurate and a scam to get you to pay twice what you would pay elsewhere. read more

i am a senior citizen who has always taken excellent care of her teeth. my first profession was as a registered dental hygienist many years ago. therefore, i am very informed about dental care and make a special effort to seek out the best care. i experienced a hard fall on concrete a few weeks ago, breaking one of my upper incisors. i have been concerned that it might have affected my bite, so i scheduled a consultation with hess orthodontics. i was amazed at the professionalism and the extreme interest that the staff and dr. hess showed me. i must admit that i was a bit concerned that they might just tell me i needed care, even if i did not--especially since the exam, including photos and panoramic x-ray were totally free of charge. much to my delight, the staff and the doctor spent almost an hour with me and assured me that my bite was still intact and that, if anything, i need to have a lower incisor smoothed down slightly by my dentist. otherwise, unless i wanted to correct some very minor esthetics of my teeth, i do not need orthodontics of any kind. even if i had been charged a large fee for the exam, i could not have been treated more professionally and with such sincere attempt to give me good advice. they certainly proved to me that this is a reliable and trustworthy dental practice. i highly recommend hess orthodontics to anyony contemplating orthodontic care. connie m. 2/08/2020 read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND. My insurance company was overcharged for services rendered by this orthodontist in 2017 which capped my benefits. The issue was found this year when my son began treatment with another orthodontist and the insurance company didn't have a balance to pay. I have sent emails and called Hess' Fishhawk office multiple times and while they verbally acknowledged the error, they refused to respond to my multiple follow up emails. It has been 3 years after the incorrect charges were made and I am still waiting on a resolution. read more

This place is amazing! We love the staff and the atmosphere of the office. They work hard to make my child feel comfortable and and happy in spite of the fact that they deal with orthodontia. After a car accident in 2011 my left TMJ suffered traumatic nerve damage. I went to 3 specialist to try and fix the nerve issue, all suggested major invasive surgery. After spending close to 15,000.00 I finally made a last ditch effort to avoid surgery by seeking the advice of Dr. Hess. Thank goodness I did! I went from 2 to 4 migraines a week to about 1 every 2 months on adverage. My braces came off today and I could not be happier, from start to finish this office has been nothing but a blessing and I would reccomend them to anyone in need of an orthodontist. This office is BEAUTIFUL and clean. Everything a germaphobe could dream of. Staff is polite and professional and goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. The orthodontist is great and very candid. The only downside is the pricing. Prices for "express" and "full" braces/Invisalign are outrageous. read more
