Made an appointment online, completed all the paperwork prior to the appointment. Dr. Gray, Yolanda and Kate, the care team for my chipped tooth, were wonderful. They were all very patient, kind and professional. Dr. Gray and Yolanda were exceptional in the care they provided to fix my tooth. From check-in to check-out, the experience was friendly and thorough. I go back in three weeks for my permanent tooth replacement, and am currently considering switching my regular dental care here visits even though it's a bit further away.

I honestly feel like we found a "secret diamond" of dental care in Tampa. Dr. Jerry took his time explaining everything to me (he is considerate and warm, and doesn't make you feel rushed), and on the FUN side, he wears silly Ninja turtle socks and tiger stripe pants! After the cleaning, your children get to pick their own toothbrush and bag of goodies, and at the very end, the kids get a token to pick something from the machine-my girls LOVED it! So happy to have found a new home for our girls' dental care!

Today Amanda helped my daughter. She was very thorough in explaining what was going to be done. She walked us through each task and made sure my daughter was comfortable the entire time. As my daughter finished, she came and got me and told me how everything went. We checked out and she was given a token to pick out a prize from one of their machines. We were able to schedule her next appointment right away and was told we would also get a text reminder when the appointment was near.

Dental procedures have always been on the back burner for me unless completely necessary. Today's initial overview of my dental health contained everything under the sun: Cavities, swollen gums, fillings that were cracked, bite issues, questionable bridge work...you get it. Basically a 4/10. I got X-rays and tons of "before" photos/scans with cool high tech equipment, Hygienist came in and did her thing as well. After the doctor reviewed everything, she gave me my options of highest priorities to take care of and what they could get done while I was there. Today I got a deep cleaning on my right side and afterwards got a TON of mini fires put out on my right upper teeth. It was a marathon appointment. They worked quick and although I was there for a few hours, they really fixed so many years of neglect. I couldn't be more grateful to them. I've already called friends and told them they need to switch to this dental office. I have never experienced better customer care in my life. The sweetest staff you can find and that is especially important when you have 'dental insecurities'. I have a few more appointments to go to get to that healthy smile, but I am so excited I found these guys and just trusted the good reviews. I thought all day about writing this for them because they truly deserve every good praise in my opinion. Side notes: The building is beautiful! Make sure you follow their parking instructions so you can get validated parking. They bought me a smoothie because they knew I'd be hungry being there for that long. They have the best rating for a reason!

Before I ever came in, I called the office and asked directly: will this visit cost me anything? I was told no. Then at the front desk, I asked again -- and asked specifically whether they had verified my insurance. They said yes, verified, no cost to me. Two separate confirmations, two separate conversations. Weeks later, a $125 bill arrived. When I called to question it, I was first offered a "courtesy discount." Then, suddenly, the story changed: oh, actually, insurance covered a portion -- you only owe $25. Read that again. The bill went from $125 to $25 only because I called. So which is it? Either they never actually verified my insurance before billing me -- meaning the "yes, it's verified" I got twice was false -- or they sent me an inflated bill and hoped I'd just pay it. There is no third option, and neither one is a "mistake." When I pointed out I was told there'd be no cost at all, the answer became "we don't guarantee insurance coverage." Then why did your staff guarantee it -- on the phone AND in person? Nobody said "we can't promise coverage" either time I asked. That disclaimer only appeared after the bill did. A policy you invent after the fact isn't a policy. It's a cover story. To be clear: this is not about $25. I can afford $25. This is about an office that told me one thing twice, billed me five times that amount, and only corrected it under pressure. If I hadn't called, they'd have my $125. How many patients just pay? And it fits the pattern of the entire visit, which was one long sales pitch. I was told I needed gingivitis therapy, antibiotics, AND a deep cleaning at premium prices. They pushed a CT scan, which I declined -- thank God, given what their billing looks like. They even tried to sell me Invisalign, which I never asked about. So I got a second opinion: another dentist told me the antibiotics were not necessary and quoted the deep cleaning at a fraction of the price. The treatment plan wasn't built around my teeth. It was built around my wallet. The front staff is polite -- I'll give them that. But polite is what a sales operation is supposed to be. I've been to Aspen Dental, and at least Aspen never told me twice a visit was covered, billed me $125, and then "discovered" it was $25 when I complained. This is the first dental office I've ever ranked below Aspen Dental. Let that sink in. I've since switched to Bay Premier Dentistry: honest pricing quoted upfront, no surprise bills, excellent work, zero sales pressure. Night and day. What happened at this office isn't "just how dentistry is" -- it's a choice this office makes. To be honest, I wouldn't go to this dentist at all. But if you come here anyway: get every cost in writing before sitting in the chair -- verbal assurances from this office meant nothing for me, twice. Check every bill they send against your insurance's explanation of benefits, because mine was five times what it should have been. Decline anything you didn't come in for, and get a second opinion on any treatment plan. I am reporting this to my insurance company. Not for the $25 -- for the next patient. I understand people are in different financial situations, and I don't want someone getting screwed who can't afford it. A surprise $125 bill built on false assurances could really hurt the wrong person. Shame on them.

I was concerned for my daughters teeth as a new tooth was coming in behind her current teeth, I exchanged consult messages with them and photos (My child was a current client) and was advised the earliest they could get me in was two weeks, and they needed an xray to confirm the new tooth was not absorbing the old roots. As a parent, not knowing anything about dental, this made me freak out worse and feel the need of a sooner appointment. Two weeks later and my wife took my daughter to the appointment today, she was in and out in less than 6 minutes for the grand charge of $150 plus my insurance is being billed. My wife was told this is very common and nothing to be concerned with. The consult messages only mentioned this may be common AFTER they booked an appointment and scheduled X-Rays. I then started to research it and it is very common, called "Shark Teeth" and unless the child is feeling pain there is no need for a dental appointment or alarm. I was never asked about her feeling pain, or told of just how common this was, instead they used a parents concern for their child to schedule a meaningless appointment to milk us for money. This was 100% a cash grab, and prior appointments were the same. They bill insurance, then hit you with 2-300% what the typical cost for services are, and I would assume its solely due to the location in South Tampa and the expectation we are willing to be taken advantage of or pay more.

The consultation was very comforting and informational. The date came around and I was nervous but they made sure to comfort me beforehand. Such a smooth easy process! They offered to play music to ease me and it definitely worked. Went by so fast and they even showed me what my teeth looked like after. Such a nice staff I will definitely be in contact for my other wisdom teeth in the near future. Thank you Dr. Salmon & staff!
