Absolutely fantastic! Dr. Jerry and hygienists, Emily and Lexie, took excellent care of my young children. It was our first time at Dr. Jerry's practice and I was beyond impressed by the ease of in-take (thank you to the front desk ladies), how the hygienists explained the tools to my girls, and the depth of care and time-spent with girls' teeth. I honestly feel like we found a "secret diamond" of dental care in Tampa. Dr. Jerry took his time explaining everything to me (he is considerate and warm, and doesn't make you feel rushed), and on the FUN side, he wears silly Ninja turtle socks and tiger stripe pants! After the cleaning, your children get to pick their own toothbrush and bag of goodies, and at the very end, the kids get a token to pick something from the machine-my girls LOVED it! I switched my daughter's dentist recently and came here. A friend of mine has been taking her kids here for the past year and they love it. I can see why. The staff is welcoming. Today Amanda helped my daughter. She was very thorough in explaining what was going to be done. She walked us through each task and made sure my daughter was comfortable the entire time. As my daughter finished, she came and got me and told me how everything went. We checked out and she was given a token to pick out a prize from one of their machines. We were able to schedule her next appointment right away and was told we would also get a text reminder when the appointment was near. read more

Dr.Copeland and his staff are so kid friendly... you would think duh of course this is a pediatric dentist but he wears crazy paterned pants, they give lots of prizes, and explains the whole process to help keep your child calm. They are also patient and give the child time to make the process easier for all. This was my daughter's 3rd dentist appointment and the first 2 were at a different dentist. This was her best appointment ever. They have a red car in the waiting area that also made the experience less "doctor office like" . The paperwork is all electronically done on tablets. This is also one of the only pediatric dentist that takes my insurance and I'm so happy we found him! Highly recommend this office for all your pediatric dental needs. read more

I can't talk enough about how great this dentist is. You would expect a kids dentist to be friendly and kind but Dr Jerry goes about and beyond, getting down to eye level with the kids and really connecting. After a particularly long procedure, he even followed up later in the day just to check on my son and make sure he was alright. You don't get that level of care very often anymore but he's consistent with both my boys every visit. read more

My 4 year old has her first appointment and it couldn't have been a better experience. The dental hygienist did a wonderful job explaining all the tools she would be using and made her feel extra comfortable by giving her a paid of sunglasses as they overhead light came on for her to clean her teeth. Dr. Copeland came in and the first thing I noticed were his fun pants and orange vans. You could tell he was there to have fun with the kids but was very professional. I'm glad I got to bring my daughter to a pediatric dentistry after this experience and would recommend this establishment to anyone who might be on the fence. read more

Five stars for this establishment. This is the only place my young son has been able to go tear-free!! This has been my third attempt at a dentist and I finally found one!! The front staff is competent and welcoming. They are happy to work there! The doctor is really wonderful with kids. There is a huge car in the waiting room and cartoons playing!! After a visit, the child receives a gold coin to get prizes! My son loves that part. He has taken a great interest in brushing and flossing his teeth since his last visit. The doctor talks to you after each visit and explains what is happening. I felt very informed. I even felt comfortable enough to send my child back there alone but I was certainly welcome to go back. Admittedly, I was nervous about my son's first dentist appointment. He is 2 and is quite persnickety, so I knew it could go either way. I'm happy to say, it went way better than expected! First of all, there is a car in the lobby that kids can crawl through and play in. My son had a blast "driving" and I knew we had picked the right place from there. Once back in the room, my son was at ease the whole time. Dr. Copeland was kind, explanatory, and really easy to talk to. He was patient with my son and made sure he had lots of toys to play with while he was chatting with me about dental hygiene techniques. Even the examination part was not a big deal. My son truly had fun at the dentist and when it was time to leave, he started crying. This is certainly not what I expected from his first appointment, but I was pleasantly surprised. This dentist is amazing! I had to wait a month for our first visit because he's packed, but it was worth the wait. From the front desk, to the assistant, to when you see him, everyone is efficient, courteous and there to make you and your child(ren) feel welcomed. One of the best pediatric dentist. Entire office is caring & understanding, always smiling & accommodating. Dr. Copeland is incredibly nice & professional & my kids love him & actually look forward to going to his office! Surprise!!! I was fortunate enough for a friend to need some help and ask me to take her daughter to the dentist. She had made the appointment 2 months in advance and did not want to wait to reschedule. I happily stepped in and we were off to see Dr. Copeland. I have never been to a strick pediatric dentist and was not sure what to expect. I know that I have a healthy fear of dentists & did not want to scar her child for life. The office and staff are very child friendly, so that helps keep them calm. After meeting Dr. Copeland, he really does have a great chairs idea manner with the kids ( where was he when I was growing up). My friends daughter loves him, a dentist & has no fear! He preformed a routine procedure on her and we were on our way. No tears on her part & no threats on mine. I would have to recommend Dr. Copeland to anyone with children, needing a dentist. What's a girl to do? Ya gotta help your friends out whenever you can, even if it means a dentist visit. read more

Don't ask them to tell what your dental insurance will pay and what you will have to pay because they wont tell you. They will however charge you way more than what your insurance covers. I don't expect any dentist to match what your insurance says they allow, but come on lets be reasonable. We ended up paying almost $600.00 out of pocket for 4 surface cavities. That is unreasonable and had we known we would have gone else where. Money doesn't grow on trees! read more

Originally I took my 3 year old son to a difference dentist that was recommended by his pediatrician close to our house. That dentist (who is awful) said that my son had a bad cavity in one tooth and that he would need a silver cap. I hated the sound of silver in his mouth this day and age and him so young, so I asked her if there was any other kind of treatment that I could even pay more for to make it tooth colored, and she told me no, not that she will do. I left there unhappy and lost as to where to go with a gut feeling I needed a second opinion. I was then referred to Dr. Copeland by someone that had a similar experience and they said they were so happy with him and that their child didn't need half the things their first dentist recommended. Needless to say, I took my son to see Dr. Copeland for second opinion and cleaning. And guess what.... yup you guessed it... all my son needed was a partial root canal with a two surface filing and YES, tooth colored fillings!!!! NO SILVER CAPS!!! Dr. Copeland's office was clean, well decorated and inviting for kids. The staff was super nice and yes, Dr. Copeland himself was a extremely nice, knowledgeable and conservative. He only recommended procedures my son needs and knowledgeable on how to complete the procedure with results we are all happy with. Not just trying to use the easy and lazy way and just putting a cap over the tooth to avoid it. Thank you Dr. Copeland and staff!! You have a loyal patient from here on out.
