We decided to shop around for a new dentist. Based on a number of recommendations we wound up giving Suncoast Pediatric Dentistry a look. Wow, what a breath of fresh air. Dr. Amanda Velazquez and her crew did an amazing job. Since we were visiting in the time of Covid, we started our appointment waiting in our car until they were ready for us. At that point they came out, took our temperatures and then escorted us in for our appointment. My son (who was also getting a check up) and daughter were placed in chairs beside each other in a huge open room. This made it easy for a solo parent with multiple children to be able to monitor them both at the same time. Love this setup versus the single rooms at other practices. Those old fears cropped up with my daughter so it was suggested she move into a solo room. She wanted me with her. The staff assured me my son would be fine, so I moved with her. Thanks to their calm demeanor and transparency, Dr. Amanda and her team were able to x-ray, clean and flouride my daughter. Afterwards both her and my son were showered with gifts. They both loved that. I used to dread dentist trips with my daughter. Thanks to Dr. Amanda and the rest of the team at Suncoast Pediatric Dentistry I am cautiously optimistic about our next visit!

They said I needed over $8000 worth of work before a cleaning could be done. Recently traveled to Illinois and went to see my old dentist. Not all of that work was necessary! My teeth were cleaned, fillings were taken care of. No caps were needed and my total bill was $650. Something like this happened to me 15 years ago in Bradenton Florida. My dentist sold the practice. After my first cleaning with the new dentist I was told I needed over $6000 worth of work. I was leaving the next day to visit family in Illinois and Saw my cousin who was a dentist. After they took their own x-rays and checked by two dentists, I did not need any work done other than getting my teeth cleaned. It's cheaper for me to fly and visit my cousin or a friend in Illinois then have dental work done in the Florida area!!
