Practice must have been sold??? Don't know for sure. Called for an appointment to clean my teeth. Was told after all the paperwork X-rays and check of my teeth NO can't be done. They said I needed over $8000 worth of work before a cleaning could be done. Recently traveled to Illinois and went to see my old dentist. Not all of that work was necessary! My teeth were cleaned, fillings were taken care of. No caps were needed and my total bill was $650. Something like this happened to me 15 years ago in Bradenton Florida. My dentist sold the practice. After my first cleaning with the new dentist I was told I needed over $6000 worth of work. I was leaving the next day to visit family in Illinois and Saw my cousin who was a dentist. After they took their own x-rays and checked by two dentists, I did not need any work done other than getting my teeth cleaned. It's cheaper for me to fly and visit my cousin or a friend in Illinois then have dental work done in the Florida area!! read more

Let me start off by saying that if you are reading a bad review about this place, I can almost assure you that it is from a very very long time ago. I have never, and I repeat NEVER, had an experience like I had today at a dentist. Not only did I get the best deep cleaning, but they "scanned" my mouth for oral cancer (free) and completed a comprehensive neck and jaw evaluation. My registered dental hygienist, Hira G., is a perfectionist. She was so kind and took her time making sure that I left there with the cleanest teeth. I cant recommend Lake Park Dental enough. I will be sending referrals there in the very near future. Thank you for all that you do Dr. Guerrero and Hira!! I have been a patient of Lake Park for years and always had good service...until recently. I've noticed small changes over the last year and believed they must have changed admin. Sure enough, I went in to have the second part of my procedure done and they came in with an different plan Claiming my insurance would not cover it...this is after I confirmed with them the first visit that my out of pocket for the ENTIRE PROCEDURE was paid...their answer was yes! I will also say that I have had multiple implants and crowns, everyone of them have broken or come loose several times each! In the past, I would have recommended them...Now, I suggest you use extream caution when working with them! read more

The billing staff is unprofessional, this office has changed environments since Mrs Sarah has left. Unprofessional dentist. The billing staff was too lazy to do her job stated she couldn't get a hold of my insurance, over charged me and has yet returned my money. The text messages she has sent are unprofessional as well. Do not go here! Laser dentist lasered my gum! Never had an issue with recession! Have before, after photos! Went to their referred periodontist and he recommended replacement after putting me in a temp to get the graft. Dr Jockin, owner, would not approve this! Had to pay out of pocket to another dentist! Periodontist was shocked! Just had to get a graft! More money because of Lake Park!! Cerec material is sub-par, too! Colors are off. My new dentist will not even use Cerec!! Dr Jockin and her staff are incredible. The dental office is very soothing, and relaxing. Dr Jockin is very gentle and patient and she really takes the time to explain the problem and procedure to you. There are 2 waiting areas with comfortable chairs and one of the waiting rooms has train sets for children, so you can safely bring your children here while you get treatment. I love that this dental practice is completely paperless. It really is truly green. Before your visit, you are asked to fill in a medical survey and privacy notice online, and at the office, Dr Jockin will go through it with you on a computer screen and all you have to do is sign it electronically. Everything here is electronic and state-of-the-art equipment. The dentist chair is so comfortable, it would put to ease even the most apprehensive patient. Not to mention the really professional and calming staff here who really go out of their way to make you feel at ease. Truly one of my best dental experience! read more

In responding to an ad in Tampa Bay Dental Implants magazine mailed to my home, I went to Lake Park Dental to hear my options for either partial dentures or implants. I noticed this "magazine" ONLY featured Dr. Jockin and Lake Park Dental---maybe not a magazine....but a veiled advertisement? (***1st RED FLAG.***) I responded to a Special Offer of Oral Exam...3D dental scan...consultation with doctor...discussion of treatment options..."ALL MY QUESTIONS ANSWERED!" Ha. Nice office. Receptionist made me a coffee. And my experience rapidly declined from here. When in exam room....1st dentist came in to discuss dentures. Not Dr. Jockin....but a different "Sara." I did have to show "Special Offer" to get around staff pitching differently priced exam specials from $99.00 up. FOR AN ADVERTISED FREE CONSULTATION & EXAM. (***RED FLAG***) After helping me fill out computerized patient forms, they did x rays. When Dr. Jockin finally appeared, she went over my x rays....and offered a few different options. It basically came down to partials on upper and lower....either traditional or implants. Even though I felt it was upgrading my treatment plan....I opted for partials on implants----according to Dr. Jockin the best and most permanent option. She worded around any specific guarantee or warranty (never would actually directly answer concerning either guarantee or warranty on her work) on this expensive treatment and finally said $15,000 would be fee. I had already asked several times for TOTAL OUT OF POCKET costs. I was lead to believe $15k was my total out of pocket----(I had asked for only total costs, so I could budget the cost of substantial dental work.) But, she said it was best option and left to have a different person arrange details. The next woman to come in exam room was indifferent and a bit cold. She stated it was $15,000 EACH---upper and lower....NOT $15k...but $30,000! BIG DIFFERENCE! (***RED FLAG****) She refused when asked to see Dr. Jockin again to clarify this "misleading impression" she gave me for "the TOTAL OUT OF POCKET AMOUNT I would be charged.....which magically DOUBLED!!!! I asked for a written treatment plan so I could study, pray, and compare my options. This person told me the "only way to get written treatment plan" was to PAY for a consultation exam....(***RED FLAG***) and the DR. never gives out free treatment plans. What???? So I asked her about the costs of having my partials made without costly implants...and was told (AGAIN) that I would need to rebook an appointment and pay for a consultation and exam! (***HUGE RED FLAG***) Unconscionable...unprofessional...inappropriate....immoral....possibly illegal...and extremely poor business method. I already had the consult and exam....now I was refused a written treatment plan or an actual total cost breakdown. How do you "nickel & dime" a potential client who was seriously considering very costly dental work at over $15,000.00??? FOR A WRITTEN TREATMENT PLAN AND ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET COST???? In my 60+ years of life, never has a "professional" refused to produce a written estimate....from having my knee replaced to having a new roof put on my home. ===========WHO DOES THIS????============= I WOULD CAUTION ANYONE NEEDING DENTAL WORK TO AVOID THIS OFFICE----UNLESS YOU HAVE COMPLETE TRUST AND DO NOT NEED ANY PAPER WORK TO COMPARE YOUR VERY COSTLY OPTIONS. One of the "1st requirements" of any potential business arrangement---"GET EVERYTHING IN WRITTEN FORM." Erases most confusion and eliminates guessing. I have been trying for over a month to get service from Lake park Dental. I have called twice trying to get my new insurance verified & both times told someone would call me back, but no one ever did. Each time you try and get in for a cleaning they tell you they are booked for months, finally there was a cancellation and I was able to get in this morning at 7am & when I arrive they send me away and tell me there is no doctor and they left me a message yesterday. The place is super clean and clearly run by medical professionals who truly care about patients. Ahhh this place was so amazing when it first opened. Everything was great! From the check in process, to the minimal wait, to being taken back to the room and asked if I wanted the massage chairs on, which channel (Netflix movie) I wanted to watch, what music in my headphones I wanted, etc. honestly it was the absolute most amazing LUXURY dentist place.....fast forward 2 years and it has become everything but nice. My appointment has been getting rescheduled almost every time, either the dentist is at available or the hygienist. There's always a reason it needs to be rescheduled. Very frustrating. Also my second to last visit, I swore I was going to go somewhere else. The new hygienist they had at the time was absolutely awful!!!!! I love going every 6 months for my cleaning. I've always enjoyed it. This time however, I feel like it was her first time doing anything remote to any sort of teeth work. She was pushing down so hard on my teeth I've had to ask her several times to stop. Eventually I told her to stop completely because I couldn't take the pain anymore. My gums were completely swollen for 3 days after this cleaning. It was awful! Once she stopped, I waited over an hour in the chair waiting to be seen by the dentist. All in all it was a horrible experience. One that made me understand why people hate going to the dentist because this experience made me feel that way. I feel so sad that this amazing place has gone downhill so quickly. We've referred countless family, friends, neighbors here who all "used to" love it like we did. What happened?! Why is there so much turnover? Every time I go, I see a new hygienist, compared to seeing the same one every time when they first opened. We ended up moving our kids to a pediatric dentist and leaving lake park because one hygienist kicked my husband out of the room because our 7 year old son has really bad gag reflexes and he was trying to explain it to her but she was annoyed about it. So he sat in the waiting room and she came out after 2 minutes to tell him our son threw up and she couldn't finish the cleaning. All the "luxury" perks they used to do are also gone. Dr Ashely Nati and her team are phenomenal! From the moment I walked in the door I was impressed. Very friendly staff, spotless office, they are open early and have late appointments (perfect for my schedule). My cleaning was wonderful, I'm very particular about my teeth. I unfortunately had a cavity that I had to come back in for. They showed me my X-rays so I knew exactly what they were looking at. Scheduling was easy.....they made any out of pocket costs apparent so you aren't stuck at the end wondering what was covered by insurance and what wasn't. Little to no wait time for both appointments and I was in and out in reasonable time! They even offer you coffee and an assortment of chapsticks to choose from! It's sometimes the little touches that count :) My husband was also impressed saying 'he loves how clean it is, makes him feel at home and the dentist was cool' (haha!) So far so great! Staff is so sweet. Dr. Morganti is just raw and real...but also kind and sensitive. Sounds like an oxymoron but she's the real deal. Won't sell you that you need a ton of dental work, she really takes the time to give you a professional opinion of what really needs to be done. She's young and has a fresh look on dentistry. We're grateful we found her. Shannon (her assistant) is the sweetest ever. I adore her! They will say whatever it takes to get your money and then once everything is paid for up front if there is a problem with your claim AND believe me there will be, then they will tell you "it's the patients responsibility anyway". The work is good I definitely will not deny that but the deceptive way they go about billing peoples insurance and collecting a good portion up front (as per their policy) and then telling you that your insurance will reimburse is all a complete scam. This used to be a great dentist and office to the degree that I also referred friends and others within the community. I agree with another reviewer that this dental practice was awesome a few years ago, but now it is a complete turnaround. The difference for us was with the office help and the dental assistant. Dr. Nati is still the awesome honest dentist that she used to be. The staff at the dental office has changed drastically; goodbye to the straight up, honest dentist office who got the treatment plan and patient responsibility right on the first try. This new staff does not communicate with each other, and does not provide billing transparency. Be sure to ask questions and communicate with your insurance company directly before agreeing to any procedures here. Staff said that my insurance ran out, and that I'd be paying out of pocket 100% from now on. After talking with the dental insurance company and digging deeper, the office came up with another treatment plan that reflected the insurance. Previous to the above, I was told that I'd be paying 100% for any cleanings because of using up my dental insurance, which the insurance company re-buked. How can my dental insurance be used in 2 visits within a year? Instead of traveling an hour to get to a dentist, we will find a closer dental practice. read more

I had a very unpleasant experience with a dental hygienist at this dental office. She was new to me and replaced my previous hygienist who was very nice. This woman was extremely rude, treated me like an idiot, and demanded that she do what she wanted to do in my mouth rather than discuss what was best for me and what I wanted to do. If I had an employee like this working for me, I would fire her. Needless to say, I refused the service that she insisted on and left the office five minutes after I was seen. Lake Park Dental is absolutely the best dental office I have ever used in my 64 years, and that includes dentists both in Westport, CT and here in Tampa, FL. Dr. Nati is my dentist in the office and she is incredibly nice and very thorough. My teeth have never been as good. She explains everything and is also very gentle when she does procedures. I have also used Dr. Jockin and Dr. Spear, and they are also fantastic. Their staff and hygienists are also incredible. It is also so nice to be able to get your crown the same day as they have their own lab, and it is fantastic that they do not need you to do any of those icky molds that so many dentists use. They have the newest technology that makes the whole process so much easier. In the several years coming here I have only had one time where I had to wait a short while do to an emergency, but otherwise they are right on time. I read some of the negative reviews and I cannot imagine they are talking about the same office. My first visit I did have one hygienist that I did not care for, but just asked for another and absolutely love her. They have many so easy to find the one that is best for you. This is the absolutely the best dentist office ever. I have had crowns, three implants, a couple of fillings, and other than that routine care. read more

I am overwhelmed by the compassion and warmth demonstrated by every single person in Dr. Jockin's office. From the moment you enter you are taken care of. The doctor truly listens to everything you say and provides solutions without trying to "upsell" other services and products and without passing judgement about the state of your teeth or your financial concerns. After being told repeatedly that I would need bone grafting and months of recovery for my dental implants, at a tremendous cost, I had given up on ever having a normal smile again. Dr. Jockin listened to my concerns and offered the mini-implants as a solution. She did a CAT scan and should me exactly what could be done.....in 1 day! The day of my implant appointment was amazing! I truly had NO PAIN! The massage chair is soothing and I was given tinted glasses so I did not have to squint into that big light. Dr. Jockin is so calm and comforting. An hour and a half later I got tears in my eyes when I saw a full set of lower teeth....the first time in 15 years! I left expecting a rough night but I never felt anything more than a dull soreness. I would encourage anyone who has a fear of the dentist to RUN to Dr. Jockin.
