Email Proof of the coordinator asking for $200 fee

False advertising about the Free Consultation on the website, just to speak with someone at the clinic the charge is $200 not FREE. Such a BS and unethical way of giving false information, who knows their treatments are also the same way (false and unethical).

DO NOT GET YOUR SURGERY HERE!! If things go wrong, they will not help you, instead they will ignore you, and lie.

I found the procedure to be quite efficient/well-executed, the facility quite clean and well kept, and the staff fairly courteous and professional; considering that the surgery took place at the height of the Pandemic, I consider these virtues to be all the more admirable. I have since returned three times for annual checkups (following my post surgery follow up visit); the duration of my first checkup was 1 to 1 1/2 hours, my second checkup was 1 hour, and my third 1 hour and 45 minutes. There is a sign at the front desk on the 5th floor informing that checkups are 2 hours in duration; a possible reason for my first two checkups having been considerably shorter in length is due to Covid concerns, as I found the wait areas no more crowded during my third checkup than they were during my previous two visits. Again, I have received courteous and professional treatment at each one of my checkups. I have also received a 'clean bill of health' for my eyes at each of my checkups; 20/20 vision, no scar tissue nor glaucoma.

After a couple of weeks somebody called and asked if I can come in Aug. 24 at ten AM - I said yes and they said I will get a phone call a week ahead. Indeed there was an automated reminder on Aug 17 2024 confirming my appointment. I went, as scheduled, on Aug 24 2024 and was told that I do not have an appointment that day and there was no appointment for me at all. The office manager worked on this with me for a few minutes and then told me that the person likely to have made the scheduling (that they never found) was not there and can I call her on Monday. I will never call and don't want to see that place again and will ask my primary care person not to refer me with these people ever again. I understand mistakes happen but what you do after that counts ... how you fix it ... they didn't care about fixing anything, didn't offer another appointment, they thought I'll call the person who likely screwed up. I am disappointed ... was mad about it but that went away ... they don't care, why should I care?

I got a referral from my Doctor which they said they didn't receive, yet my Dr.'s office sent another referral for another Doctor the same day and interesting how that office seemed to get to that referral fax. I finally got through to the office after 7 tries and I was told that the referral might be on his desk for approval to see if he'll take my case. I've been having intermittent eye pain. The referral was sent on Apr. 14th and it is now Apr. 26th. When the person from his office said that I'd have to wait to see if he would take my case, I said to her that this guy must be way too arrogant and I let them know that there are a number of ophthalmologists in this city that would actually care about getting a new patient. I would bet that if I said I wanted elective surgery for intraocular lenses....I would be contacted STAT! BTW, I am also considering that surgery. Dr. Weisbrod can keep that silver spoon in his mouth. I'm moving on!

The clinic locks the door and the staff lets patients in or out. The older lady sat down on a chair to wait for the door to be opened. The woman who works there (could be a nurse since she was wearing scrubs) chastised her to another patient in the waiting room. The nurse said to other patient in the something along the lines of 'omg, I can't believe she sat on the chair, I told her not to! people just don't listen.' It seems like the issue was that the nurse would have to disinfect the chair again. To me it didn't seem like it warranted that type of an exchange with another patient right in front of the one that's waiting to leave. If the nurse had unlocked the door sooner than the older lady would've left and never felt the need to sit on the chair. I could see that the clinic was very busy and everyone was working nonstop but having a bit of empathy will go a long way.

FInding a family doctor is hard, so when I moved downtown 10 years ago, I discovered that I couldn't find a family doctor, but I could be assigned to a Nurse Practitioner at WCH Family Practice. For those reluctant to opt for a Nurse Practitioner, I can tell you from my experience, it is better than a family doctor. Anything they can handle on their own is done quickly because you can see them sooner than the overbooked doctors, and when there is something they can't handle, it is referred to a doctor in the clinic or a specialist, so it is the best of both worlds. My Nurse practitioner retired last year and I ended up becoming a patient of one of the doctors in the clinic, and while she is a great doctor, WCH is a teaching hospital, so she is only in the clinic twice a week, so appointments are hard to get. However, WCH family practice offers urgent care appointments in the evenings, so if a doctor can't see you that day, you can see one in the evening, instead of going to a walk in clinic or emergency. The clinic is very accessible, something I appreciated after my knee surgery.
