I had good service today at Hertz. Jaycee took care of everything from start to finish. Our vehicle died while passing through town. Jaycee & Frank both worked their magic to assist us with a rental & discount programs that we are a part of. She didn't seem bothered to handle the extra time and effort. She even arranged to have us picked up where the car was stranded. The driver was super friendly, too! My two daughters were tired, bored and hungry and they offered them food & drinks. Customer service is nonexistent. Rudest associates ever had the displeasure of dealing with. I reserved a vehicle and somehow the name was changed in their system which incurred fees after I've already paid for the vehicle. After a couple hundred dollars in charges that were added by the amazing employees I can now go to a funeral. Thanks for nothing you terrible people. Update they charged us twice and couldn't give us an actual answer why. read more

Absolutely a horrible place!!!! My wife was traveling back from DFW, had a mechanical issue and needed to leave her car in Waco for repairs. Went to this place to get a car to come home to corpus. Customer service person could have cared less about the unfortunate situation she was in. Charged us $559 for one way and the car had to be turned in same day. You should be ashamed of doing this to people !!!! Stay away from this car rental company!!!! read more

State Farm is paying for this rental, yet I still had to come up with a deposit, that, since I didn't have a credit card (not to be confused with a bank debit/check card), so I had to give them a cash deposit that they said could take 8 weeks to arrive - AFTER I return the rental. That's going to be about three months that I don't have the money to pay other bills! The car I got is a white VW 2019 Golf. It's a good little car, though. The agent was very polite and pleasant, but the policy of making the insured person come up with the deposit is frustrating. Not sure who to be unhappy with: Hertz or State Farm. But all the rental companies seem to require something like that but I think that they return it faster, like when you return the car. All because I don't have a card with a credit line. read more

Got in a wreck, hertz was supposed to call me they didn't i had to contact them. I set an appointment for them to pick me up at 830 the next day no call no show. I called them at 9 they said they didn't have any cars for me even though they said they had one for me already. Finally picked me up and gave me a car that smelled like someone smoked in it. Called them complained and they changed out cars when i went to turn in the smoke smelling car they tried to charge me for gas. Awful experience avoid at al cost use someone other than hertz!!! read more

I had the most wonderful experience here! The people are so kind and accommodating. I even called halfway through my trip because I couldn't figure out the gas pump (silly me) and they were more than happy to help me figure it out. They are very time efficient and I'm definitely using this Hertz location again. read more

They were nice I rented a car for spring break. I did spend about 20 minutes past my appointment time time to get my keys for then rental. The lady was very nice though and apologized for the long wait. When I returned my rental I dropped the keys and left. They sent the email within 20 minutes and I had no extra charges. I have rented from other hertz before for example the one in Killeen tx and the people here in waco were easily 20 times nice to me and they didn't charge me an extra $150 like killeen tx did. read more

Went into Hertz as a last minute option to rent a vehicle. This is after having already been charged, over-charged and filed complaints multiple times about this company at multiple locations. I didn't really have a choice due to my situation so I hesitantly rented from Hertz again. It's been 3 weeks and I just now got a charge for $31.74 for some outsource contract that they do with a company called PlatePass. Go ahead and look them up and see all of the complaints on their website! I apparently went through a toll at some point, $1.98. I've never been to Texas before so because I don't permanently live in this state I had no idea how they worked since they did not have booths on the road where you could drop money or pay a person. Just a sign. I was told by the Hertz associate who I spoke with (did not give me her name, just said it wasn't Jennifer which is who I asked for based off of the card I had saved). Not Jennifer kindly informed me that it was in my rental contract (oddly, in the 5+ times I have rented from Hertz have not heard of once) that I agreed to pay a fee that is supposed to "cap out at $27.00" for going through a toll. A toll that normally costs $1.98. And to top that off, because the fee occurred randomly on a Wednesday after I had taken out a large sum of my money for bills and other things and was not expecting the extra charge, I will now be charged $35 dollars from my bank for over drafting my account! THANKS HERTZ!!!! That was a $67.00 toll I just paid thanks to your poor customer service and your scam-esque outsourcing. Is it too hard to pick up the phone and call me so that I can just pay the damn toll fee? Or send me a letter? Or an email? Or would you just like to continually take advantage of people who trust you include all the necessary information regarding how and when they will be charged at the point of pick up? I don't think I need to say it but that was definitely the last time I will rent or recommend using this as my go to company for rental cars... read more

My car broke down on the side of the road in 90 degree weather with a baby in the back seat and a tow truck couldn't get to me for another 72 minutes. I understand that they couldn't help me but the lady on the phone was VERY rude and showed no sympathy at all and had quite an attitude with me when I expressed my concern for my child. I returned a rental car from Hertz last week. I had no problems with the car. However, I inadvertently left a piece of property worth $450 in the back seat of the car when returned it. I spent 4 days looking for the it and realized today that it must be in the rental car. I called Hertz and they told me I could come pick it up. Relieved, I went to the location. The staff was extremely rude to me and told me that they knew it was mine and they had been waiting for me to figure out that it was missing. They also said that they were just going to throw it away. They made a joke that I should have known that it was gone. They were aware the property was mine and that I had left it, but they made no efforts to contact me and let me know they had it. They would have thrown away $450 worth of my personal property even though they were aware of the owner's identity. I am aware I made a mistake in leaving it, but I would expect better customer service and at least a phone call. I certainly would not expect such a rude response and threats to throw it away without even an attempt to contact me. This property was extremely expensive and I would have no problem seeking monetary recovery for it if the very rude employees had thrown it away knowing whose it was. I will be using a different car rental service in the future as this behavior is unacceptable. I hope you can use this experience to better your customer service for others, as you've permanently lost my business. read more

Never will use Hertz again. I had a rental appointment and requested a pick up. The office called me at the time of my pickup to confirm if I still needed a pick up after finally arriving at the office I went into fill out my contract and the employee that pick me up loaded my stuff into the rental car from the vehicle that I was picked up in. I noticed when arrived at my destination the back seats were terribly stained and gross. When I returned the car the manager checked it out and milage gave me my final total then 2 days later I noticed the charged me a 100.00 more. Got the run around for days, couldn't get to the contract to see what was charged then I was they have it for me tomorrow. Then it was when I came back from another rental I'd already scheduled. Long story short I was charged for a detailing that should of been done before. read more

I would never go here again. Not very friendly. Charged me for a tire with a nail in it. The catch was that the check tire light was on when I drove away the first day and I let them know. They insisted that the tires and light were perfect because of an oil change. Yet no tire caps were on. Anyway why go somewhere like this when there are other friendlier companies available. read more
