Words cannot express how bad Hertz has become. I requested a vehicle to be picked up at 9:00am so I took Lyft service to this rental location on Memorial from downtown Tulsa. When I arrived I was told they didn't have a vehicle for me because they were out of cars, but there appeared to be plenty of vehicles parked in front of their office. and they would call if a vehicle becomes available. I was also told the vehicles go to customers who book first for that day, which I never heard heard of that before. Anyways, I called their 800 number and the agent told me there was vehicles available at the Peoria Ave location so I took a Lyft to that location only to be told that location only rents to people who are sent by the insurance companies. I tried calling that store before going over to the Peoria location but nobody there answers the phone. So, I figure I'd trust the customer service agent and go down there. Of course, it was a wasted trip and money going out there. I ended up spending nearly 70.00 using Lyft service going to these locations and back to downtown. Nothing like the day starting with a car accident-no fault of ours-and then having to deal with the worst customer service here to try and get a rental for work tomorrow. They don't give full information of what you're being charged for until you're ready to pay, didn't know about the 500$ deposit neither an 80$ plus charge whenever you're supposed to get the 20 dollar insurance. Whenever I got the car back the next day I got charged an extra 480$ out of no where and when I called they didn't know why and told me that that some times happens with debit cards wtf? Plus the guy that answered told me he was gonna transfer me to de billing department and instead of that he transferred me to de main options whenever you call, they just don't care about the customers!!!! Kelly was visibly upset with the number I was given, He offered no help or assistance at all. I asked if he would rather we go somewhere else. He said "yes, go somewhere else. Do not rent from Hertz at 44th and Memorial in Tulsa, Oklahoma, if you care about your money, sanity, and time. I was in an accident 4 hours from my home, was not at fault, and was provided a rental by the other person's insurance. I called to extend my rental as agreed. I was told I owed 700 dollars and would be charged to my card. I tried to explain I was not paying for the rental; the other person's insurance was, and she told me to call the numbers on the back of the rental agreement. I asked for phone numbers, and she just kept saying, "Look on the back of the agreement," and refused to provide the numbers. I finally found the agreement, located the numbers, and was on hold for 90 min and could not get ahold of anyone in "customer service."I called back, asking for another number for resolution, and the young lady said, "We're closed," and hung up on me. I should have known this would be a disaster because I was emailed and asked to sign an additional rental agreement regarding the other person's insurance before I left town. Fortunately, I checked my email before leaving for home, four hours away. I said, "Why did you not call me, and what if I had left town?" The response was, "I guess you would have to come back." That is a weird and rude response. Fast forward six weeks later, I returned to Tulsa to pick up my car and drop off the rental. Again, I had to explain, that this bill was not on me. The lady who "helped" that day me was the only one there and answered six phone calls while I was talking to her. I called back today because I left my garage opener in the vehicle, and my relative could pick it up. I asked if there was a lost and found. I was told, "Yeah, but stuff gets left all the time, you'll have to come by and look." I told her I lived 4 hours away, and she said, "Oh well," and hung up. I then tried to call "customer service" and asked for a district manager or store manager. I was given the store number, which I recognized, and I said, "This is the store number, what's the district manager's name and number." Then, I was hung up on again. Not surprisingly, Hertz corporate numbers are difficult to find and are "no longer in service." This all sounds absurd and unbelievable because it is. Given customer service and corporate are reluctant to speak to anyone, I would say this is par for the course. NEVER again, not that anyone who works for this company cares. Worst experience ever! Unreal. I thought I was on candid camera. First we got there and there were 3 customers waiting and no employees in sight. After about 20 minutes and employee walked out. Beth helped us. Beth is like a mime. She barely talks, and she does not seem to comprehend what you say. I showed up with my reservation, and she said that there are no cars. NO CARS! This was a typical Wednesday in the morning. I said "isn't that the point of the reservation?" I finally talked to the manager Sherri, and she located me a car, but after loading the car up with my kids and bags, I noticed that the tire had a nail in it and was completely flat. If we had driven with that tire, we could have been injured or killed. Shocking that they would not inspect the car before releasing it to customers. This place is the absolute worst! I really am not the type of person to leave a review however I've been trying to resolve an issue that took place in May of 2019. It's currently the middle of November... Here we go. I needed a rental car because I was backed into while waiting in a drive thru line. I used Bill Knight Collision on Memorial to repair the damages, so being super close to the location I decided to use Hertz for the rental company. Important part: I was not at fault and the other party was paying for my repair and rental. On April 29th 2019, I was picked up from Bill Knight Collision and taken to go do the paperwork at Hertz for my rental car. Everything went fairly smooth, no complaints about the process so far. On April 30th 2019, it was raining very heavily. I attempted to used the wipers in the rental car, they were garbage and made it more difficult to see. I pulled over to a Quiktrip and called the Hertz office on Peoria to ask if I would be reimbursed if I had purchased new wiper blades. The woman who answered told me to call the location I got the car from to make sure there wouldn't be any problems. I call Hertz on Memorial where I got the car, I have to wait a while for an answer, get put on hold for quite awhile, whenever they come back I finally get an answer. The answer was YES I would be reimbursed for the wiper blades as long as I had the receipt. I make my way home, go to my local O'Reilly Auto Parts and I purchased new wiper blades. $59.65 for wiper blades. They were kind enough at O'Reilly to install the new ones and I had asked to keep the old ones as well. I put the old ones in the trunk of the rental car just in case Hertz wanted them or needed them for anything. Fast forward to May 2nd 2019. I was informed my car was ready from Bill Knight and I could pick it up. I called Hertz to let them know I would be dropping off the car and that I also had my receipt from replacing the windshield wiper blades. We finished the paperwork and then I hand them the receipt apparently there's an issue with the fact I didn't pay out of pocket and the other insurance party paid for the rental. They weren't able to refund me that same day. Bummer, but not big issue. I'm told they need a copy of the receipt and they had to send it to a main office in Oklahoma City for processing. I would be getting a check for the amount in 4-6 weeks. Time goes by, I don't have an exact date but I call in to Hertz to check on the status of my refund and it became a hassle. At this point I'm frustrated. Every time I have tried to call and check on it I get put on hold for long amounts of time. Finally when I get through I'm told by the manager my refund was rejected, and that he would push it back through. No reason why, no update, no contact, nothing. I asked out of curiosity what would happen if it was rejected again, I was assured that wouldn't happen. Well, here we are in November, I have never once gotten a phone call from Hertz. No mail, no type of update what so ever. They have the absolute worst customer service. Any time I call I get put on hold, it's never quick. I always get told the manager is out of office. I always get the same story from them and no results. Save yourself time and effort, go somewhere your business is actually appreciated. This was a horrible experience today. Rented a car from Hertz through Expedia. When we arrived, they did not have any car in the type (we were renting the cheapest car for budget purposes) we had rented. So, they offered an upgrade at an increased daily price which made the rental outside of our budget. Unacceptable. So we asked them to check to see if we rented for less days if that would help the cost be the same... Nope... they checked and the cost would have been hundreds of dollars MORE for less days. I then asked if they would give us a free upgrade, as that is what has happened before when I have rented through Expedia at Hertz, as well as other companies. NO DEAL. They said their policy was to NOT give free upgrades when they didn't have the car type available. Wow. Never coming back here. Other companies (Avis and Budget, and even Hertz in the past) have offered free upgrades when the type was unavailable. Super disappointed with Hertz. Now we are scrambling to find transportation. I will say that while the employee we spoke to was pleasant, and she did make an attempt (finding higher price options), she made no attempt to take care of us under the same pricing... and only said it wasn't their policy, which is the opposite of what I have found other times. read more

Awful experience. I originally had an appointment for the body repair of my car at 8, Hertz then told me they wouldn't be able to get there until 9 (that's when they open). I changed my appointment time to 9 and Hertz never showed up. I have been waiting here for almost an hour with no one having shown up. I will be missing a meeting at 10 and assume I will be having someone from the collision repair take me to Hertz rather than Hertz picking me up as they said they would do. I had a reservation for a Toyota Corolla or similar. When I arrived to leave on a long driving vacation, I was offered a Kia Sol which has no trunk and exceedingly limited space for any luggage at all. I have a Corolla, so I know what similar to a Corolla should be and a Kia Sol is NOT it. We were going to be on our vacation for nearly 3 weeks. I told the employee how disappointed I was. He gave me the option of taking a "luxury" car for an additional $18 per day. I cancelled the reservation and we ended up taking our own Toyota Corolla. I will not rent a car from Hertz again--at least not the Hertz location on Memorial. Other Hertz locations may be much better. I don't know. They have the worse customer service in person and online. We rented a car came by to pick it up unable to get the car because of additional security deposit, and they were unwilling to open late for us to run home and come back. Came back the following day to pick up car and Once again unable to get the car because we didn't come at the "pick up time reserve." The person help us said we could come back any time to pick up car, why would I come at an earlier time to pick up car if I wasn't told I could come back anytime. Ask them to see if there was another location we can pick up at they said "they probably in the same boat as we are". I call customer service to see if there was a car at the airport, the person on the phone check there was a car ready for us in 30 minutes, however they did not honor the price we had originally reserve for and was not willing to work with us. We ended up waiting 4 hours. My hubby call an hour before we went to get the car to confirm if there was a car ready for us they respond yes. When we got there and check in we had to wait an additional hour for them to clean and "make sure" everything was good to go. As we were waiting a different clerk was helping a customer and the customer ask, am I going to get it for the same price as I reserve the Corolla for? The clerk responded "I can do it for you". I was piss. You can honor it for him but not for me. Secondly two ladies come in to get a rental because they had a rec, and got their car right after checking in. Plus a lady who check in after us got her car already. I am still waiting here while writing this damn review. Don't come here to this location. All the clerks here sucks! ***update 2 hours later we have no car and Samuel the manager ended up helping us cancel our reservation for a full refund and no cancel fee. I contacted the local hertz dealer and they traded it out for something that had cruise control and better features. they were all very nice and gave us a secondary drop off location due to we were running late and it was a lot closer to our current location. read more

This was my first and most definitely my LAST experience with Hertz. As you will see this is not just for this location but for all Hertz. I rented this car to take my family on a trip to Chicago. First off check out was extremely difficult, I won't go into details but I was there for over an hour. The car itself (2013 Ford Edge) was nice but it was not being maintained. The last oil change was due at 26,000 miles as noted inside the car and the mileage at time of checkout was 39,200 miles. The car was not shy to remind me that it needed an oil change immediately. I mentioned this at check in and they told me it must have just expired because they cannot rent them out if they have a service do... oops... In addition, as we soon found out soon after leaving Tulsa, we were given a key that had restrictions on it. Ford calls this their "My Key" great for if you don't want your new teenage driver to drive too fast or listen to the radio too loud, but not if you are driving down the interstate! The car would not go above 80mph and would start constant beeping and muting of the radio if you went 75mph or above... the speed limit was 75... After calling this location, they were aware that this happened from time to time but apparently don't check that kind of thing first before handing over the keys to their customers. They directed us to call the roadside assistance service...which is an absolute joke as well. Long story short... after being disconnected 7 times and having to wait on hold for a total of over an hour and a half, one agent was able to secure a new SUV in Springfield, somewhat on our way to Chicago. However after we made contact with said Springfield location their statement was "yes, roadside called us to make a reservation but we told them we didn't have any cars available"... We called back (waiting on hold 45 minutes this time) to find out that the agent had secured a small car for us, not an SUV... He failed to mention that part. No way to fit the whole family and luggage in a small car. I requested that they coordinate an SUV be brought to a location on our route, to which they replied... "We don't have the ability to do that" they told me I would have to work that out with one of the locations along the way... So here we are driving to Chicago trying to fix Hertz's problem and having no luck doing so. The locations told us that this is not their problem and we needed to call the emergency roadside number...yes... the one we just got done dealing with... We are now back in Tulsa and I just dropped off the Ford Edge at the Hertz location, we paid several hundred dollars to rent a car that would not drive over 80mph, volume on the radio was disabled over a certain level and muted if you drove over 75mph, several radio stations were restricted due to the "My Key" settings, the car also has a recall having to do with the rear drive train the Hertz again failed to mention. As for compensation, I was offered $50 off my next Hertz rental in the next year... I said that was absolutely not good enough and I needed something to be done about this rental. He told me he was unable to do more and his manager was on a conference call, he would have her call me within the hour to work things out. That was two hours ago and still no call... Never again Hertz, Never again. read more

There were not enough employees available and had to wait over 45 minutes to receive car. For most of the wait there was not a single person at the counter to greet other customers. When the car was returned the counter was again empty and had to wait over 20 min. for some one to show up. At return asked for further explanation on an issue and the employee raised her hand and told me to just listen to her... extremely rude. I then did not receive a final receipt because of some insurance issue on the day of drop off (the issue that was never fully explained to me). It was finally emailed to me 3 days later after several phone calls. I will say that the man I spoke with on the phone to obtain my receipt was very courteous. read more

Ive had the worst experience with Hertz this month. Everytime I call I'm transferred to 6 different people before someone tries to assist me. At one point the rental location didnt have record that I had already paid for the rental. That was a nightmare to fix. Now I needed to change my reservation dates. Even though I used the correct prompts when calling, the individuals that answered couldn't help me. Neither could the next 4 people I was transferred to. And everytime I was transferred I had to go through the entire process of my name, reservation #, etc. Even though I would start by telling them what I needed. This last time I had to call for an issue was the last straw. I was hung up on by a very disrespectful man when I asked for a manager because the price he quoted was way higher than online was currently telling me. I had to call back and the next guy offered an even higher amount. He went to transfer me to a manager but sent me to the beginning of the prompts instead. A man answered and asked where I would like to rent a car from.... UNBELIEVABLE! This man offered me to rent the car for half the rental period, return it, and rent it out again. Which is just crazy but I understand he's just trying to help. Problem is we need the car to travel so it's not even an option. Finally, I just want to cancel the whole thing because I'm stressed from the experience. I am now using Avis and saved over $100 on the same car even after Hertz $50 cancel fee. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE!!! AWFUL!!! This was a bad experience. I had a rental car from here when someone ran into my car. The other driver's insurance covered the cost of the vehicle but I needed to purchase insurance for the rental car. Number one, they tried to hold a $500.00 charge on my card for the insurance when I only needed the car a maximum of two days. Number two, I only actually had the rental for less than 24 hours and my car was ready the next day. I dropped my rental off at the body shop with a full tank of gas. (remind you I only had the car less than 24 hours). Hertz tried to charge me for a full take of gas and extra for the insurance. I have called several times and spoken with Andy where I was told I would get a refund and they would adjust the charges....We are now going into the second week where no charges have been refunded and no one has called me back. No one seems to know what they are doing here, and everyone tries to up charge you like you are an idiot. I will never use this place again. You are better off getting a cab or an Uber.
