This location in Cherry Hill NJ has the most unprofessional and rude employees I have ever seen at any Rental location. That being said I am a Hertz gold card member and book a car from the web site which they do not even or similar car at this location that would be a corporate Hertz problem. I left without a vehicle and went to other rental car agency and was treated very professionally by the staff and the similar car was actually less expensive to rent for a day. Who would you rather rent a car from? Hhhhhhmmmmm. Save your time go to Enterprise in Maple Shade, NJ ask for Austin. Just wanted to update this posting, this location billed my credit card as a no show when they could not supply me with the car I requested. What an awful experience. 1. Didn't have my car, tried to upsell. 2. Car I got was great, no issues. 3. Computer was down when returned, on time, with a full tank of gas. They didn't even look at the vehicle. My credit card was hit with fees for three days after and no receipt sent. 4. After being on hold for 20 minutes was run around. 5. I hate this location , I recently went this week I gave him 1 of my cards and within seconds I decided to give a different card , I got charged multiple times on 1 of the cards and that should of never been on file he assure me it wasn't I had the correct charge of $368 on my PNC but then my American Express card was charged $28.41 twice I went in to speak to someone because they never answer their phone !!!! don't know how they are still in business ! after speaking to the same guy that did this b.s he also assured me that it would disappear after I turned the vehicle it never did I'm currently disputing through my bank . Hertz Rent-A-Car in Cherry Hill New Jersey has the worst and I do mean the worst customer service ethics!! I have been attempting to have a rental dropped off since Monday. The reservation was booked by my insurance company, so there should not have been this many challenges with trying to get this rental. I was originally told that two people would be able to drive the vehicle to me at the location of the auto body shop. Well, went there Monday at the scheduled time... no vehicle. Every time thereafter that I attempted to contact them, I couldn't get through! I had to call my insurance company and have them tell Hertz to call me. The vehicle was rescheduled to be dropped off to me today at 10:30 a.m. . The same thing that happened Monday happened today. They said they never received confirmation of whether I still wanted it. Are you kidding me?! The reservation was confirmed and I told them several times that I needed the vehicle and how important it was for me to receive it ,because I am a therapist and have to travel to my clients. Needless to say, I told them to cancel the reservation and that I was going to get my insurance company to book a reservation with another company. I will never... ever ever ever, use Hertz Rent a Car out of Cherry Hill New Jersey again..... Not for any occasion at all!!! Zero stars! They did not have any mid size SUVs! Which is what I had ordered and payed for! I had an appointment time to pick up the rental. UBER`ed to their location, to be left without a car. I hate to give one star ratings on Yelp, i really do, but the lack of good customer service at this location really needs to be addressed. After an awful car accident I had to rent a vehicle. My insurance covers Hertz rentals so I came to this location to get a 'comparable car.' This location could only offer me one vehicle. Yup, you read that right....they had one car in the lot. Wasn't comparable, but whatever I needed a vehicle. Take it or leave it. I had no choice so I took the car and had it for the 20 days (which was covered under my insurance). I promptly returned it (to a different location) and thought I was good to go. Approximately 3 days later my credit card was charge $56.00. I called to ask about it and this location refused to take responsibility for the charge saying "the other location charged me because that's where I dropped it off". Back and forth phone calls with both locations, speaking to the manager at the drop off location, and then having HER call the Cherry Hill location to clarify exactly "who" charged me came to the conclusion that Cherry hill charged me $56 to fill up my tank. I had given the car back how i received it (half tank). It is also acknowledged on the contract that I received the vehicle with half a tank. They acknowledged their mistake and ensured a refund. I kept calling about the "status of my refund" and no one could ever give me an answer. 2 weeks later, no refund had been issued. 2 MORE weeks later after calling the 1800# and complaining that Hertz was quick to charge me for the rental but they cant refund just as quick, the corporate customer service woman issued the $56 (to be back on my card 3-5 business days). It cleared in two and I finally got my money back. Why did I have to go through all these hoops for a simple refund? Why was this such an unnecessary headache? I don't understand how you could basically 'hold on' to my $56 without refunding me quickly and honestly it's this type of service that gets me so mad. Other businesses like Target, Home goods etc. can refund a customer the NEXT DAY. You are a huge international company. Get it together. read more

I will never rent from here again and Never with Hertz! They rented me a car that smelled like smoke, was not offered another rental, the adviser stated there is a strick policy against smoking and a fine is attached to the renter. She made note of the smoke, at least I thought she did. I expressed I have a hard time with the smell of smoke and yet nothing was done. My mistake was driving it off the lot like that, it was late and I needed to go I was already there for 40 min that should have taken 10 min. I called the next day to report someone hitting the car, mentioned the smoke again(surely they would give me another car) NOPE. I drove this smelly car for a week! When I returned home I reached out to customer service... What a Joke, according to them there were no complaints noted and they said I needed to report it to roadside assistance. This email with customer service went back-and-forth several times telling me that there was never a complaint made and to have a nice day so they have a non smoking policy that when it's broken, nothing is done and the client renting that car is the one to suffer through it, so it becomes their problem! Just had the most horrible experience here. I made a reservation online that was redirected to this branch by Hertz corporate. When I got there they made it seem like it was my fault that the reservation could not be fulfilled at the original branch and basically teamed up together to make me feel stupid when it was clearly a mistake made (or they would rather have an annoyed customer than lose money on a rental?) on the Hertz corporate side. The district manager and both assistant managers were there and were proud to tell me their titles while they said, in few words, that they didn't really give a damn about my experience. I will continue to see why my reservation couldn't be fulfilled but they didn't have to be so rude and unaccommodating about it. read more

I have rented at this Hertz through Expedia twice in the last month. The second time was last minute due to a funeral out of state and they even upgraded my car. The same staff was there both times. They were very welcoming and did not have me waiting long. Both cars I rented were clean and had no issues. I was even able to drop off the car during closing hours since they have a key drop. So I was in a car accident that someone driving without a license was in a Hertz rental car and totaled my vehicle. They offer to put me up in a compact car (after totaling my F150 pickup) so whatever but omg they don't have any available they only have SUVs so I call my adjuster makes some changes and then omg no more SUVs or anything!! They need to be a little bit more prepared when their careless drivers cause accidents that then make our days impossible because of this inconvenience. And just so everyone is clear I live in SJ and was willing to go anywhere's in NJ to pick up a car but not one Hertz had one. I will not be a returning customer. Rental was for a 5,000+ mile (2 week) roadtrip: The car I reserved (Class C) was not available on the day/time of pick-up. I was not notified of this issue, despite speaking with a representative of the location the day-of, and the day prior. The representative said they had 10 reservations for the day and only 2 available cars on the lot. They were unable to procure me a vehicle from another lot. They did, however, offer a car with a check engine light and said I could take it to Pepboys for an oil change!!? Is this protocol?! I wound up taking the available smaller car (Class B) versus none at all. While normally this wouldn't have been an issue, I was renting the car to drive 5,000 miles and was concerned about the comfort of a small car on such a long drive. The car did the job, but I was disappointed at how Hertz runs it's business, with too few cars at a location and no warning to customers as a courtesy to cancel or look elsewhere. read more

This review is not only about the Cherry Hill Hertz, but the PHL one and the whole enterprise. I picked up a car at 11 pm from PHL. As we started driving we realized it smelled horrible of cigarette smoke. Since it was so late at that point we figured we'd air it out. This didn't work, so the next day we traded it in to the Cherry Hill location. They gave us a car with an empty gas tank. The guy said we can fill it up just leave it empty, but his documentation showed a full tank of gas. Since he lied on the receipt Hertz is charging me over $100 for another tank of gas! There is no way of actually talking to the location, so they would rather just rob us! DO NOT RENT here. They ruined our vacation! read more

I called on my way their and the woman I spoke to Alicia Richardson was the most rudest person I have ever dealt with. Her customer service skills lack everything. Do NOT rent a car from this business. Not only was I erroneously charged an extra $51.90 for returning my rental car with "not" a full tank of gas (returned it full and had them recheck the car the next day to validate that it was), but also it took their branch manager over 4 weeks (with me calling back every week) to fail to credit the return back to me. To fix the problem I ended up calling Hertz customer service (1800-654-4173) and had my refund processed; I saw it in 3 business days, as oppose to several weeks. The service here is incompetent and customer service is poor. I wish they had rectified the situation and I gave them numerous chances but was disappointed. This is my second time renting with this location. I have not had an issue with the employees or the cars. I am frustrated at the timing and the wait required. The first time I rented was on a weekend, so I was not in a rush. But I arrived at the time I specified and was told that my car was getting washed. I waited about 5-10 minutes before my car arriving back from the car wash. I just rented a car today and arrived at 7 30am, which is the time I specified. I completed my transaction, then learned that my car was one of the ones they had just sent out to get washed! I was told it would be 5 minutes, turned out to be about 20-25 minutes until I got into my car. I wound up being late to work and required to take leave. Like I said before, I do not have an issue with the cars or employees, management just needs to be better at scheduling so that the car is ready for you when you arrive. read more

FUMING but NOT smoking !!!! HERTZ rental 6 Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill NJ! 1 month after returning the rental to the body shop, our credit card statement had extra charges of $300. We hadn't received any receipt or call about issues regarding return of vehicle/condition. We called Hertz corporate & they emailed a receipt showing the fee was for "outside body washing". Next morning, we went to see mgr., where the story changed to; " fee was for smoking in car". We don't smoke! They had I-phone pictures; you couldn't tell what the white spots on carpet were. Picture also showed some long hair, and only my husband drove the car; he is bald! We returned the car to body shop, and Hertz picked it up the next day, so we weren't present for inspection. Why didn't they call us if there was a problem? Why did they charge the fee and not send a receipt? Shady. Also, asked for a small car and they brought a Murano, bilk the insurance for a more expensive car? Hertz corporate is taking care of issue. HERTZ is fine, but don't use this location~! read more

I didn't give the fifth star only because there have been a couple of occasions when the car I wound up with was not as nice as the one I requested in my online reservation.
