UPDATE: I went back in March 2024 and bought a brand new 2024 RAV4 Hybrid and I couldn't be happier…read morewith it. I once again sought Brett out to help me and just like last time, he was courteous, patient, and not pressuring at all. It took me a good two weeks to come to a decision, as this was a much bigger purchase than the last RAV4 I bought from him in 2017. We called and exchanged emails throughout those two weeks and he was patient with me all the way through. I got exactly what I wanted; model, trim level, and extra packages and accessories all at a fair price. I got a very fair price for my trade-in and the transaction was smooth as butter. I once again recommend anybody looking for a Toyota to visit Kinderhook Toyota for their needs. It's the only dealership I will buy cars from. Thanks Brett!

We are shopping for another vehicle. This dealership is not on our list…read more This is why: Several years ago, I brought my then two year old Toyota CPO vehicle in for service- an oil and filter change w/ tire rotation, as per the CPO maintenance agreement. The service manager, at the time, described to me how I must be mistaken and, further, that I had purchased a third-party warranty from the Toyota dealer who sold me the vehicle which Kinderhook Toyota could not possibly honor. He said all of this while looking at a 4' x 6' poster hung on the wall extolling the benefits of purchasing a Toyota CPO vehicle. Apparently he was, somehow, under the impression that only this particular dealership sold CPO vehicles... Toyota NA got him straightened out on this point, and I did proceed to have a couple services performed and did purchase parts/supplies over the next year or so. Those basic experiences were generally acceptable. At the mileage recommended by Toyota for coolant and transmission fluid services, I called to inquire if it was something Kinderhook Toyota could perform. Because I generally maintain my own vehicles, I like to know what somebody else will be doing to my vehicle when they service it. The new service manager had what can only be described as a meltdown in response to me asking him what these services consisted of in their shop. Expletives were invoked as he shouted that they hook it up to a machine which 'sucks out the old stuff and pushes in the new stuff', and why did I need to know. This is behavior I will not tolerate and certainly not reward monetarily. So, I went to another dealer, asked the very same question and received a detailed explanation given in a courteous and informative manner. Obviously, I chose to have that dealership perform the services. A positive customer service experience pays lasting dividends. I have subsequently purchased parts/supplies and have had one minor repair performed by them as well. We have avoided Kinderhook Toyota ever since. A negative customer service experience leaves an impression which lasts forever. My negative experiences at Kinderhook Toyota sprang immediately to mind when we begin discussing where to go vehicle shopping this time around.

The employee processed me and quickly pointed me in the direction of my vehicle. He was polite, helpful and wasn't pushy when trying to sell me extras that I didn't want. When I dropped the vehicle off at noontime on Saturday, nobody was there, but a drop-box made it much more convenient. This was my first time using Avis after having previous bad experiences with Enterprise. One advantage with Avis is they always start you off with a full tank of gas, as opposed to Enterprise which could start you off with a quarter of tank (it's very difficult to judge your fuel mileage so you return it the same way). Avis' policy of starting you off with a full tank avoids that problem. The car was very clean - it looks like they must clean it after each rental. Instead of getting a ride there, I parked my personally owned vehicle in the airport parking lot (didn't trust it for the long-distance drive I was making). Since Stewart Airport chased away all of the major airlines and hardly does any business, the long-term parking lot was nearly empty, and I was still able to park close enough to walk to Avis and only paid $10 to park for 24 hours.

I get to SWF to find out they are only open when they have a reservation from an arriving flight. UGH! There is no one there and when you call Alamo 800 #, they say, oh yes, sure they are open, have airport security page them as they must be just away from the desk momentarily. Clueless. I call the number listed on the notice pasted at the desk. They tell me to get to the Enterprise location 5 miles away, they will honor the reservation. I wait 30mins and pay $12 for a cab to Enterprise at 63 Route 17K in Newburgh, only to be told they will honor the reservation, but not the price. Two very unfriendly, very unhelpful men could not have cared less about my predicament. UGH!! I call Alamo 800# again and they are sorry but since covid has effectively closed the airport, they are not offering what they call local rentals to anyone not arriving via plane. When I tell her hotwire/priceline/kayak are still offering rentals at SWF, she says she is sorry, but cannot control what they do. I learned my lesson NEVER RENT from ALAMO or ENTERPRISE.

I had a major issue at Bradley airport between what I was quoted online and reserved and the price I was given at the desk. Well I had an issue as it was almost 30 bucks more or so. The manager Carl was extremely accommodating and professional and gave me a very fair deal on the final price I ended up paying. It was even a bit less than originally quoted. Thank you Carl and all the people at the Pittlfield Hle location. Very personable and human. I felt heard and not like a number. Sad considering this location is only a very small hertz. It is more of an automotive repair that runs an very small rental area. But they were way better than the dedicated hertz place at Bradley Int.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Hertz in Pittsfield, MA…read more I drove over an hour to this location with a confirmed reservation, only to be told by Nicholas & Julie that the vehicle I reserved was not available. We all confirmed that my reservation existed, yet instead of honoring it, I was offered a different vehicle at a substantially higher rate. This felt like a classic bait-and-switch situation, which is unacceptable. Rather than providing a comparable vehicle at the confirmed price, I was told they might have something available in "a day or two" and that they would call me when ready. Considering I live over an hour away, this was already extremely inconvenient. When they eventually called, I answered and could hear that someone was on the line, but no one spoke. I had just finished another call moments before, so I know my phone was working properly. Instead of handling the issue professionally, they blamed me for the failed communication. To make matters worse, Julie was extremely rude and told me that if I did not arrive by the next morning, the replacement reservation would not be guaranteed -- despite the fact that my original "guaranteed" reservation had already not been honored. At no point was I offered: A comparable vehicle at the original reserved rate A temporary replacement vehicle Any meaningful customer service or accommodation for the inconvenience The staff's handling of this situation was unprofessional from start to finish. Based on this experience, I will not be using Hertz again in the future.
