Terrible customer service when we picked up the car. The ladies that helped me when I returned my car were super nice and helpful.

I've been a loyal customer of Hertz for years, but this specific location continues to disappoint me every single time. What makes this even more frustrating is that this is the only Hertz location near me, so I don't have much of a choice. It's becoming increasingly difficult to justify renting here when I leave dissatisfied after every visit. There's a clear gap in customer service, attention to loyalty members, and overall execution at this location. I genuinely hope management takes a closer look, because right now, this experience does not reflect the Hertz brand I've trusted over the years specifically for President Circle Members. read more

Was scheduled to pick a car up today at 2 PM. I get to the location at 1:50. The doors are locked and there's nobody in the building. There's also some kind of lock box on the outside of the door. I would never use this place again. They have horrible reviews and I see why. read more

If I could give this location a zero, I would. Worst experience. I scheduled to be picked up and it took them 1 1/2 hours to get to me when I would call for the status no one was picking up the phone and when I finally got someone on the line instead of apologizing, they were just rude about how they couldn't do the things they're set up online to do. I finally got to the location and I was just handed keys. They didn't even come with me to do a walkthrough. The car had hair on the seat and suspiciously red stains, the mats and dashboard were sticky and dirty. Told the agent and they only vacuumed off the hair and brought the car back around. read more

This is in the old Walmart shopping center across from IHOP- I had to take my car in for service and her just came out to the dealership and pick me up brought me back and wrote up my ticket, and got me on my way. Good stuff people were on top of it and made it easy for me to get in and out. Good car, returning it today I hope but wanted to get a review in quick as many don't know hertz is here. Try them out. This rental car facility called me a day before my Christmas pickup to tell me they had no car for me. They told me that all other Hertz in the area did not have any either. Happy holidays to me. I was unable to find a car and my family is now scrambling to find transportation. Very poor CS and last minute cancellation, and I booked my car 1.5 months in advance! I would not recommend this facility for any rental. If they will overbook and then cancel without adequate notice they are not trustworthy. read more

This is Not a reliable location. I rented a car for two days and paid for the protection insurance, and put the pick up time at 8am so that just in case I can find a break time some time in the morning, during my work I can go there. At noon, someone from my family went to pick it up, surprisingly, found out that they have given my car to someone else, without giving me even a call. When I asked if he can show me in their policy that they can do that, he refused to answer. Unprofessional enough the manager said he is not going to argue with me. If you are renting a car with them make sure you factor in the chance for such random behaviors. read more

There is no wonder this locations rating is so low. Other than extremely slow service, my husband and I have rented at this location several times for business and pleasure without any major issues until now. I made a reservation for Memorial Day weekend because my daughter has a tournament in a neighboring state and we like to avoid unwanted excessive mileage to our personal vehicles. The reservation was pre paid and scheduled for 4:00. At 3:30 a gentleman (Jalen) calls and tells me he apologizes but they are out of cars. I ask him what exactly does that mean, since I had a pre paid reservation which I made two weeks ago, and what was I now supposed to do to secure a rental on a holiday weekend at the last minute. He says, online overbooking is allowed and happens so there is nothing he can do, but I should call customer service to be issued a refund. Like WHAT the heck kind of service is this?!?!?! He then proceeded to tell me he did not know the General Manager's name or phone number when asked and no store manager was currently available. This was only made worse by having to try to contact their customer service line and navigate the limited and confusing recordings. I wish I had the time to read reviews before selecting this location. I hope this is not a reflection of the company. However, the customer service here is poor. No names are given. No name badges or cool lanyards either. This is not a stand alone location. It is located in a shopping center with you know, cars. There is no clear indication of which vehicles or lanes are Hertz vehicles. So after I received my rental, it was a mad search to find the vehicle. The driver was, whew!!! No, hi, how are you or anything. So, this led to an uncomfortable drive. His driving skills? Hmmm. Glad we got there safely. Once arriving to the location, no one was in the waiting area, side conversation was going on, and I had to wait. [[Eye roll]] The lady that checked me in was pregnant, eating, and refused to stand or even do a walk around to the car with me. They told me they had pictures on file. How do I know what these pictures include? How do I know what is already there? Walk arounds WITH the customer are important. Unfortuantely, I did not like the location and wanted to get out of there in a hurry. So, I did not do my own walk around until I reached safety. Additionally, I knew what type of car I was renting, but I did not know the color or where it was parked. Why? Because I was told, it's in the parking lot. My reply, "You mean the parking lot of this shopping center." No effort was made to assist me as the customer. There was someone else there too. I'm sure he was not pregnant and was able to point the car out to me. At any rate, be aware that anything dealing with the rental has to go through this location and not Hertz corporate. Be sure to write down their phone number to save yourself some time. Be prepared for the person on the other end to confuse you and not offer you the utmost customer service. I did call and to my shagrin, it was our driver that answered the phone. Chris tried his best, and I do not blame him. He sought help when he couldn't figure something out, but it didn't seem as though anyone was readily able to assist him. But what if Chris was simply hired as a driver? Hmmm... All in all, I am a frequent Enterprise renter. I've also used Alamo and a few others including Hertz, but this is a first. I am used to a courteous pick-up, the car brought out front to me or a clear distinction of the company's vehicles when at an airport, a walk around, and optimal customer service. With that being said, BEWARE. My initial rating was a 1. I only bumped it up to 2 because Chris did his absolute best to assist me. read more

Although I didn't get service with a smile, or even a "hello" when I walked in the door (reason why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5), I must say the breeze of renting a vehicle and selection here at this location was superior. I was in and out on a Saturday morning in less than 5 minutes. I reserved and checked in and paid online so I'm sure that helped. But I really appreciate the ease. That overrides no smiles in my book anyday! Keep up the great work with the ease of your customers renting a vehicle and smile sometimes! I'll be back. I would rate hertz and this location a zero star if that was possible. Beyond terrible customer service, they downgraded us and we are Hertz gold status . Furthermore, after repeated attempts to contact Hertz customer support to rectify this situation, they did absolutely nothing. Our car was the size of a roller skate and we rented and paid for a full size car. To add insult to injury, we waited over 45 minutes for our car and the Sirius XM radio we had paid for did not work. I prepaid for a week long rental with Hertz. When I got to the office to pick the vehicle up I could not rent a vehicle and I was leaving town in 4 hours. Needing a rental. I went to Enterprise and rented a vehicle with no problem. The real issue started when I called to request the refund of the pre paid rental. I was told that I could not call that day to request a refund-had to wait 24 hours. When I called the next day I was told it would take 5-7 days to receive refund. I was thinking wow that is kind of a long time, but things may take that long. I called on the 7th day to find out that the refund had not been approved yet. Approved nothing should have had to be approved. Hertz took my money and I did not receive any services or goods. I think that is called "stealing"! I asked for a manager and was hung up on twice, really?!? I called the third time and was told that the last person I talked to processed the refund. Now I had to wait 7-10 days. NO consistency! Ask for Jason and Larry. They are easy to work with, knowledgeable about the cars/features/storage/etc., and go above and beyond to make the rental experience a positive one. I mean, they were both dressed in ties, yet they didn't hesitate to go outside in the heat, roll up their sleeves, hop in the car and show me how to put seats down, find anchors for car seats, and explain the safety features and climate control functions. Zero stars if I could. I used to rent here only, they had always been great, fast checkin etc. and we rented cars several times a year. If there was an issue like a car not available (never happened to me but yo others at office at same time) they were apologetic and worked hard to get quick resolution A few years ago (before covid)they changed management, then they got rid of long term employees then it went to crap. We re Ted twice after changes started and it took forever to get in, there were always several people in there with issues and no one seemed to care so we switched to enterprise down the street and it was great. I decided on this trip to retry hertz. I am so sorry I did. They could give 2 shits about anything. They seem lazy and are like whatever. I started with trying to get rental (a minivan) a day early...I started calling early that week and the girl said it was t in yet...so the day before rental I went in to see if car got turned right before closing and it wasn't in yet. Which was fine, but getting worried as we had to be in Philly the next night I asked if for some reason it doesn't come back do you have another vehicle that size or bigger that we will be able to use because we had to be there. She just shrugged and then said we will give you something. We go in morning of rental no van, the dude shrugged and said it's not here. Nothing we can do. I was like that's not acceptable, I reserved a car with you months ago for a car to be here and he says cars are based on projected inventory not guaranteed. I said why make a reservation??? He said he can put me in a Mid size sedan!!!. I said we have six people and luggage for 9 days we won't fit he just shrugged said it was t his fault!!! I said you need find to find one....I said you better start calling other Hertz's. He called one and no cars and the other he was on hold with....The name of manager and district manager he refused to give us and refused to call to help find a remedy. My husband started calling other companies...I got on phone with 800 number and after at first being useless I asked him to try Greenville airport, he found one I said before I have someone drive us 2 hours can you call snd ask them to verify if it's there and that it's ok to drop in NY. I went to hold he said he talked to them and it was there and they would hold it....but the price was up $600 then my reservation was. He said we could have it or not. I needed a car so I took it and would fight it later. 2 hrs later we get to South Carolina go in and the girl says no one called us but I see a reservation with your name. She says the dates but has me returning there. And I said no it's going to be dropped in ny. Shecsaid it wasn't a corporate car that she couldn't release it. Reservation was to be returned there. I said please tell me you have something and she said she will work it out give her a second to go through inventory. She asked if a suburban would be ok and I said of course, thank you. As she entered she was going with price on reservation phone guy made so I told her our original rental wasn't there could they honor the original reservation price....she said sure, so I showed her our reservations and she fixed us up. I am so thankful to her. I would not been half as mad as I was if they in Buford would ha e done their jobs and tried to help resolve it. The girl in there with the guy just shrugged as well and just say there. Will never use them again. Will use enterprise. If flying in or out of Greenville I would use there hertz location for sure. read more

I'm giving a big fat 1 star because there is no option for 0.. And my star is based on the quality of their products, in this case their Cars. I would rate them higher if it was solely based on customer service I would rate them higher.... The issue started at the airport when I rented a Mazda 6. I did not realize until I got to the hotel that the key-fob was non functional. And also noticed a note on the key-fob that said "front side tire goes flat" (why would you have such car on the lot?). I went to the nearest location on Satellite and swapped cars! (The guys at the counter was helpful and eager to help). Once I got in my "new" rental I notice that the seats were all wet... I guess the previous customer left the windows open so the seats got soaked. So I switched again to a new car and it was fine for the first day and next thing I know, the engine light comes up, a few minutes later the change oil sign shows up. At this point my image of Hertz its going down the drain. So took the car in and they sent me to another location where they had more cars. Hopefully the 4th will be the one. The only good thing (seriously) were the people working for them since each time the transition from one car to another was smooth and they did not give me any problems. My advise to Hertz is that your company needs to keep an eye on the products that are put out there for their clients, or they ("me") will not come back. That's it for now. read more

Received the worst service from this facility. Had an insurance claim . Called the day before and confirmed they would have a car reserved for me comparable to my Chrysler 300. Arrived at a dirty location. Was told that they only had 1 Kia and if I didn't like it that was the best they could do. I left and came back to the facility and the guy at the desk walked around the office on the phone talking , looking at me and the other employee told me the guy on the phone was the only one that could help me. Needless to say , I left and will not be back. Worst customer service I have ever encounter. read more

The employees there were great. My issue was they required 300 deposit to rent a car. Thats absurd. And when i made my reservation online i wasn't told about that so was not prepared. Enterprise charges 50 which is a lot more reasonable. However, i was able to get a 20% off ABN discount which saved me almost 20 bucks. read more

I reserved a car way in advance and when I arrived, the car was dirty, smelly and had stains int he seats. This is the 3rd and last time this will ever happen or I will rent from them again! I informed the guy behind the counter and he gave me a coupon for me to go and wash it myself. Like I work at Hertz and it is my duty to do his dam job. Plus when I walked in the girl behind the counter was on her Facebook and it took her a couple minutes to notice me. No customer service and the cars are trashy and dirty each time. Called Enterprise and they came with a car to the Hertz place and I showed them the car. They said they would be fired if they let a customer even see a car that dirty. Hertz is out and Enterprise/National is in. And since this was done through Amex, I let them know also and they took this location off their list. Hertz, clean up your act...and cars too! read more

This is by far the WORST car rental company I have ever dealt with. They are dishonest in regard to their rates and flat out lied about their lowest offer in terms of coverage when I requested that. Because of this error, I was overcharged over $200 and was later told nothing could be done to remedy the situation even though they admitted it was their error. As a customer, transparency and integrity are two highly sought after values that determine who I do business with and, obviously, I will be searching elsewhere in the future for my car rental needs. read more

I wish I would have read the reviews before renting from here. My sister and I rented a car from here to take a trip up to Ohio (we are currently driving back). The guy at the front desk was not friendly and looked somewhat annoyed that we were there. We reserved the car for 8am on a Thursday. We showed up 5 or 10 minutes early and they told us our car still needed to be vacuumed. We sat and waited for several minutes. The guy finally drove the car up to the door for us and gave me the keys. When we got in the car, we saw that the tank was only filled 3/4 of the way and the "maintenance required" light was on (we took pictures of this for proof).The car also reeked of smoke. I couldn't tell if it was cigarette smoke, marijuana, or both. Either way, it was awful. When I adjusted the rear view mirror, it fell off completely and we were left with no mirror for the entire trip. We consider purchasing command strips to put it back up but decided it is not our problem. We also decided to only fill the tank 3/4 of the way when we return it since that is how it was given to us. In addition to all of these issues, we were given a Toyota Yaris, which is supposed to be eco friendly. We assumed we would save on gas. Nope. We stopped four times to fill up our tank on the way up. We have driven to Ohio before in our own cars and only have to stop once or twice. I will absolutely never use this location again. I am so angry about this whole experience that I will probably never had Hertz again. I can't believe they are allowed to give cars like this to paying customers. I feel ripped off and do not think I should have paid as much as I did for such a horrible car. read more

Had a use a car from Hertz of Buford due to a GMC recall. When GMC and Hertz could not communicate properly regarding payment for the rental our daughter's credit card was charged instead. This location is terrible from the cars to the customer service. I reserved an SUV, the inside was clean but the outside was filthy with scratch marks and a big rust spot on the left side. I remarked about the car being dirty and was given a coupon to take it down the street to a car wash, are you kidding me! As I drove away I noticed a warning light on the dashboard, called the office and was told it was a low tire pressure warning and that it should go away. After 15-20 miles of driving it was still on. Called the office back and was told no other cars available. Inquired about the following day and was told they didn't know what would be available Friday. At this point I was extremely frustrated and called Hertz Corp. they transferred me to Emergency Road Side and after 2 calls I was told I could take the car to Atlanta Airport to exchange. I had to drive at least an hour in Atlanta traffic from Flowery Branch one way to get a decent car. When I returned the car I was asked how the car was and I informed them terrible and had to exchange the piece of junk Jeep Compass for the Nissan and all he said was "Sorry" with the emotion of a robot and could of cared less! I have been a Hertz #1 member for many years and this was the worst and the most frustrating experience I've ever had with renting a car, but never again. I will never use this location again under any circumstance, and will think twice about using Hertz again. read more
