    Oil change required upon pick up.

    Would give ZERO stars if I could! DO NOT use this Hertz. 1. They did not have the car I reserved. I booked a full size sedan and they tried to give me a compact hatchback after telling me it was a full sized sedan. 2. I was given a car that had not been serviced or cleaned. Car was very dirty with trash and food from the last guest who used it. 3. The car stated that an oil change was required. I tried contacting the location but could not get anyone on the phone because they were closed. I had to GET AN OIL CHANGE AND CAR WASH. I have been trying to contact Hertz for 2 WEEKS after returning the car to get reimbursed for the oil change and car wash that I HAD TO PAY FOR. I have called 20+ times to speak with a manager. I have left notes with other employees to have the manager call me.... Nothing. No return calls. After finally speaking with a manager they told me they can't reimburse me for anything because I should have gotten pre-approval before getting an oil change. I tried to contact them when I saw the service notification in the car but they DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE. This is absolutely ridiculous. They have lost my business and my entire family over a $70 reimbursement for an oil change and car wash... DO NOT waste your time here.

    I needed a car for my road trip. I had originally made a reservation at a different Hertz location (Westheimer) but that location pretty much screwed me over (see my other review to be drafted) so I made a reservation at this location and they came through last minute! To be fair to this Hertz location, I made my reservation the night before I needed my car, and it was after closing time so they didn't get to see my reservation until the morning. I received a phone call around 7 in the morning informing me that they didn't have a car for me, but they would put me on the waiting list just in case a car became available. Long story short, it did! Pick up process: Your standard rental car pick up process. They didn't try to offer me all the different insurance options (I would have refused anyway since my credit card pretty much covers everything). They didn't tell me anything about the fuel level. Didn't explain anything to me. The only thing they did do is walk out to the car and check for any visible damages. Anyway, I drove away and I started to notice that I couldn't change the radio station, couldn't connect my phone to car's bluetooth system, etc. Pretty much the radio/bluetooth/system console constantly froze. I had to call back to ask for a different car. When I came back, I was told that THE MANAGER WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE THE CAR WAS HAVING! The staff kept telling me that it would just take the car's system to operate. Nope! I drove about 15 minutes from Hertz to my work and about 30 minutes back (because of Galleria's traffic) and guess what? That's 45 minutes of frozen system. How long is "a while?" Also, knowing that the car had an issue, why wouldn't you get this issue fixed first? Anyway, I was given another car - a Ford Escape. What I didn't realize was that the car had a "My Key" system that I was unfamiliar with. Once I had the car, I found out that the car had the maximum speed limited to 80 mph. Every time the car would reach 75 mph, it would make a chime; and when it would reach 80 mph, it would make three chimes. Let's just say that during my rental period, I just wanted to rip that system out because the chime was driving me insane! Also, the radio volume was limited to a certain level. Sigh. So I picked up the car around 2 pm in the afternoon. But for whatever reason, the rental paper said that I would need to return the car by 8 am. On the day of return, I called them and asked if I could get an updated rental paperwork that would show that I had the car until 2 pm (because one day is 24 hours and not 18 hours, you dig?) and the person on the phone was telling me that I only had the car until 8 because when I made the reservation, I requested an 8 am pick up (see the part above where they told me they didn't actually have a car) and they wouldn't change the return time unless I specifically requested it (Like, really?! REALLY?!). I was already pretty annoyed at this time and so I asked her, "how much does it cost for me to extend the rental period until 2 pm?!" You know what she told me? She said, "there's no charge." HOLY F'ING SHIT dude. I asked for an updated paperwork that showed 2 pm as the return time and you gave me shit, but when I asked what it would cost to extend the rental period a few hours until 2 pm, you'd tell me it's free?!?!?! Like Seriously?! Is there any justification for you to give me shit the first time around? Pretty horrible experience overall. The only reason why this is not a 1-star review is due to the fact that they did come through with a car last minute. That is pretty much it.

The best part is they said they had no vehicles at the same time I had an email with a rental agreement saying the agreement had been adjusted to someone I did not even know and I would be responsible for payment. Annette, the only person at the Westin Hertz location, said she could not do anything more because she was closing and wasn't sure what happened. She even had the wrong credit card for me. She sent me to a nearby location to someone named Natasha who was the manager of that location. She was supposed to be able to fix it all. Another employee who answered the phone at the other Galleria West Loop location said Natasha wasn't in but was helpful enough to call her. I overheard her tell Natasha that I was the customer for whom Annette had messed up the paperwork. I was then told to hold after they realized I could hear them. Annette was by herself, something I have almost never seen at car rental agencies. I have no idea if anyone was properly trained, but I was treated poorly at both locations. No apologies that they did not honor my contract. Its not clear they will not charge me for the stranger to whom they gave my rental. Stay away!!!

They don't answer their phones. Customer service here is horrible. Do not rent your car from here you'll end up paying way more with all their hidden fees!!!

I made the mistake of using some of my Hertz points for a car the following week, and the rental experience was a nightmare in comparison. I've rented hundreds of cars for business travel all over the US, and the team at this Enterprise location tops the list. If you need a rental, I can't recommend Brian, Olivia and the rest of their team enough.

I told them again the their Enterprise system locked the card on their side and the issue did not come from the bank. They kept insisting it was the bank and when I got upset they said they were not going to talk to me with my raised voice and to make sure I gave them the key because I was not allowed to leave with it - I could not have another day. My response was that I was not a thief. yes, I gave them the key back and now writing this review. In the middle of these events #2 below was going on as well at the location at the same time. 2) I called the 1-888 number and asked for a manager at 1-888 number. The person who answered was nice but didn't know how to help the situation as she tried to run the card thru snd it didn't go thru. I then asked for a manager. The manager typed in the info I gave her and sent it to the people I was talking to in front of me. Then she hung up on me. I thought being that it was their company they knew how to fix the situation. Not ever coming back

BTW, the excuses given were ludicrous. I was told that my reservation was made for a location that never has trucks. Employee then called back later trying to again hook us into a reservation instead of canceling. She tried to take back all of the hateful things she said to me the first time. Wasn't having it. Want nothing to do with them. Would never use them again. Something wasn't right with the entire situation.

This is the only Hertz that rents Tesla and I was hoping to get one because that's the car I drive in my home state. Come on now I've lived in Houston for 20 years and I know for a fact that they rent cars to people who are not from Texas. This is discrimination, when a person behind the counter lies and says they don't rent cars people who don't have Texas DL and I feel this person should be reprimanded or penalized for refusing service based on her lack of education.

    Rented a replacement vehicle through insurance because my car was rear ended. When I dropped it…read moreback off (I was self pay with reimbursement) the agent was receiving an error, and deleted the insurance information before charging me. All I received by email was pictures of the vehicle. They never provided me a copy of the contract (I assumed it would be emailed). They also never returned my proof of insurance. Manager said they have no record of the contract and says it's on me to prove the rate with a contract she never provided me. Best case is they intentionally booked me into a higher rate than I actually placed a reservation for, without telling me the rate. In any case, I could have gotten a better deal myself at Enterprise without any corporate rate. At least they didn't call the cops on me and report the vehicle I returned was stolen, since that's a thing Hertz does (They paid $168 million for falsely reporting hundreds of customers who returned cars for car theft, resulting in arrests and jail time for entirely innocent people). If they can't even log in when cars are returned properly, don't trust them with anything. In addition, the car they rented me clearly had an exhaust system issue and idled incredibly rough and smelled vaguely of weed when I picked it up. Use the Enterprise on Bellaire Boulevard. They email you a copy of the contract, the cars are in better condition and they have a larger selection.
