We wanted to see the lake, the wild horses and do some hiking without large crowds or hassle and we got it here plus some.He even took us to see some Tribal markings and told us the history behind it - incredible. My fiancé and I hiked for hours on the secluded Wild Horse Island and saw bucks, bald eagles, doe, sheep, rams and of course gorgeous wild horses!! The fact that we were the only people on the island was a plus, all animals roaming free and no people. When I spoke with the lady at the fly shop, I said "I'd like to catch fish and enjoy amazing…read morescenery." "Well call Mark at Wild Montana Anglers" was her advice. Glad I took that advice. I went out two days with Mark, both yielded amazing fishing with a scenic backdrop like no other. Turns out there was more, apparently there was a nice hatch happening, it had just started and started early. I didn't have the fly and didn't know of the hatch, but Mark did and tied some flies for our trip. The cutthroat couldn't stay off the fly! This was my sons first trip flyfishing. Mark was beyond patient and proved to be a great teacher. He caught fish after fish after fish. Such gorgeous cutthroat from beginning of the day until the end (both days). I also caught more fish than can be counted and learned so much from Mark in our two days on the water. Mark has since helped me out a lot with tips and tricks whenever I reach out. He's been great! The scenery was like the fishing -second to none. There were so many moments I had to pinch myself. I was floating through Glacier on the Flathead catching fish. Daydreaming and watching the Eagles I was fine to to just float, but no! Interrupted by another trout striking my line, time to bring it in and out the line out! Before booking, I was a little hesitant, it's not cheap to hire out a guide. However, at the end of the second day, I felt like I had actually received a great deal! This was supposed to be a once in a lifetime experience, but I've decided that I'll have to go back and do it again! Thanks Mark and look forward to the next trip!
