    An excellent kayak rental experience!
    A.C. S.

We rented kayaks for the Swan River drift. The kayaks are clean and in excellent condition. Life jackets are like new. I'm told he buys all new equipment every year. An easy experience all around from payment to pickup. Would use this vendor again and recommend them highly.

My son and I rent a kayak here every summer. They are always friendly and accommodating. The equipment is good and so is the location.

Mark (the owner) is the man! Super friendly place. Great prices. Don't make the mistake of going somewhere else. You can't beat this place.

The boat showed a little wear and tear, but was generally in good shape. Fun boat. Zippy. A jet boat is a good idea on Echo Lake, which has shallow spots. Shockwave hauls the boat to your preferred location, puts it in and takes it out. Easy for you. Our boat was put in on time and taken out on time. Staff was courteous. No problems. If I were going out on Flathead Lake, or if the water was choppy, I'd prefer something in at least the 20' range, but a lot of people like these little scooters.

I decided to widen my search to all of Flathead Valley and was a little disappointed when I had a message that said their machines were down and if I left a message they would get back to me... I left a message doubtful that anyone would ever get back to me. Less than 10 minuets later they returned my phone and confirmed they had 2 jetskis available. They also delivered to Whitefish at no extra cost!! 2 hours after we called them they had 2 2014 sparks in the water fueled up with extra gas (so you don't have to pay the $8 a gallon at the marina)!! It was a little more expensive than another place I called but they were unavailable and only had 8 hours instead of 10. Boy did we have fun! When we went to pay for fuel after (you pay the difference for the rentals and the tanks he brings) we were charged pump rates. Very exited for this new business in the Valley and I wish them all the best of luck! They also have an assortment of towables as options with the jetskis.

Views views views!…read more Great change of pace after days of hiking. I rented a 1 seater kayak from glacier outfitters. It may look like a far walk but it isn't! Totally doable. The staff was very nice to explain everything to me. They showed me the lake map and where to go and not go, etc. Instructions were very clear. I rented 2 hours (they have you 15 mins for the round trip walk). The walk from the rental to the lake I thought was a bit of a walk but it was not bad to haul the kayak there, they are on wheels so it is not bad. You leave the wheels near the trees. Returning the kayak was fairly easy as well. There are lockers available that you can put your stuff if you don't want to take it with you. The minimum number of hours is 2 hours and it was 40 something. Overall it was a good experience! Everything was great. Would recommend and use service again.

(highly recommend reservations)…read more There is a small parking lot and some street parking but it was not a busy day and it was full. We had people waiting for our parking spot when we returned to the car. I'm not sure where people would park when it gets very busy. Perhaps there is another parking lot I didn't see. When you walk up to G.O. you sign waivers, pay the fee and are gathered in an area for instructions. The man who provided the instructions was very informative. Advised us of areas in Flathead Lake to avoid including a rough water area and a few bald eagle's nests as they recently laid eggs. After instructions, you are provided with the kayak, paddle, life jacket and a cart to roll the kayak down to the lake. Now, I'm pretty strong but the kayaks are heavy. I did think to myself, how would someone with less strength get this kayak down to the lake? Something to ask about if you are renting as it is several yards to walk with a heavy kayak. The carts were easy to remove and stash while we spent the day in the lake. When you finish kayaking, you simply load the kayak back on the cart and roll it back to G.O., drop off gear and you are done. We had a great experience with Glacier Outfitters and would use them again.

I am not an experienced kayaker and I also have a double knee injury. I was a bit nervous that this trip might not be for me. When we got there we met our tour guides Shelby and Tyler. They were extremely knowledgeable about the lake and kayaking. I felt confident that I was with the right people. My other half and I used the tandem kayak. Tyler stayed right near us as we kayaked the lake to ensure I knew how to steer properly into the wakes and waves and not tip. He also offered to pull the kayak if we got tired, but we didn't need that. The island was great. I would recommend the 1-1.25 mile loop if you aren't athletic, that way you don't get too tired out for the kayak back. The only downside to our trip was the lunches that were provided were warm by time we got to them, so we didn't chance it, and didn't eat them. We weren't upset because we wanted to try a local restaurant when we were done anyway. Just a tip for anyone wanting to go- bring a bag with extra water, sunscreen, a towel, and hiking shoes. We definitely enjoyed the trip! If we didn't live all the way in NC, we would definitely go again! Thanks Shelby and Tyler for an excellent time!!
