April 17th, BATHROOMSAND SHOWERS ALL CLOSED/LOCKED AND THEYRE STILL CHARGING FULL PRICE TO STAY HERE. BASTARDS. I'm watching my neighbors shit and piss in the woods multiple times WITHOUT digging a hole. What in the $&!? Is wrong either way the state parks/rangers YES YOU RANGERS you're charging full price and no one even has anywhere to go take a shit or a piss, there's no honey pots out or anything. What the fuck? If I hadn't paid before, I knew the bathrooms and showers were closed. I would never have stayed here. Highly highly highly recommend the state park, plus it's dirty, my campsite is full of trash and there's huge rocks lane everywhere including the fire pit read more

Love this place! Clean campsites. Restrooms with showers (yes, with hot water). Easy access to the lake and to town. Great place to kayak and just relax with family. BTW - Campsite #9 is on a slope. If you bring things like a camp kitchen or table, you'll want to bring something to safely level it. Other than the slope, it's a nice site with the tent pad away from the road. read more

As a nature-lover and certified California tree-hugger, I loved Wayfarer's State Park. I can't believe that only non-Montanans have been the few (yet) to attempt a Yelp of Wayfarer's. Must be all the surfeit of natural beauty found in this state that has made locals ho-hum here. Not me! I had a rental car and following a long day in Glacier National Park, I had to take the opportunity to check out Flathead Lake and the State Park. I drove the back way into Big Fork, admiring the many farms and big parcels of property that dotted the area. Getting into town, I followed the signs--wanting to get right up on Flathead, which looks so beautiful from the air flying into Kalispell. Entering the Park, there is a Ranger station, where it's time to pay to play UNLESS YOU HAVE MONTANA PLATES. In state residents get in free so since I had my Enterprise rental, it was no charge. But Wayfarer's is steep and hilly, with a series of parking lots as you descend. That's why I deducted 1 YELP STAR. If you don't get there early on busy days in the summer, plan on hiking up or down the road. Otherwise: fabulous. Picnic tables, restrooms, disabled parking, helpful Rangers. And when you get to the bottom, there is the magnificent Flathead Lake. I got out of my car and stuck a toe in the Lake and COLD! But there was a rocky beach and a boat launch. I noticed a woman reclining on a big rock enjoying a book. This was such a serene place. But probably not so much on summer weekends. Still, make sure to visit this great Park, if you are in the area. read more

Cyclists beware. I came in on my bicycle and was directed to the hike bike section. I chose one of the sites and set up my tent. For the next hours lots of children kept coming into my site and disturbing my things. No parental supervision whatsoever. Got in my tent about 10:30 and fell asleep. Woke at 1:00am to some guy yelling in the non cycling site next to me. Just nonsense talking. When I ask if he could keep it down. He said F you and just got louder about the country being F'ed up. Shoes on, cloths on I walked to the host site. Knocked. He came over told him to keep it down. The guy told the host I was the problem. What? The host threatened the guy he would call the sheriff. He didn't. The guy stopped yelling but continued to talk loudly for another hour. They should not put the party sites next to the sites for cyclists. We have to get up and ride our bikes in the morning. There are two overflow sites next to the cycling sites. If you get parties there. You are not going to get any sleep. Horrible experience. I'll never come back. Campground host was a joke. Get someone in there with some authority please. read more

Gorgeous state park that is right on the water! The lake in bigfork is right off of where this is so that makes this a perfect spot to enjoy a picnic or dinner to go. Makes for a good date night as well as a perfect photo opportunity for engagement photos or wedding photos. One of the prettiest parks in the Flathead, and the view is unreal! read more

The fare for our non-visitors day pass was only $6, very affordable for access to such a well-kept swimming area. Previous reviews site the lack of a proper swimming area, but we thought the swimming area at Wayfarer's was great! The beach is more rocky than sandy, but on this lake that is NORMAL! If you want to swim from the shore of Flathead lake, you need to bring water shoes. There are no sandy beaches that we have ever found. With that aside, the swimming area was clean and well-equipped with picnic tables. We also saw quite a few people using paddle boards and kayaks from the shore. We did not check out the camping area, trail, or restrooms, as we were only there for a swim. However, I can imagine that if they are as well-kept as the beach, the camping is just fine! Its not that there is anything wrong with the park but theres not a ton to do. We couldnt find an inviting place to swim. The trail was disappointing although the scenic vista was nice. I would recommend making the trip to glacier. read more
