My experience with Amanda L. was very pleasant. I visited during the afternoon as a walk-in and waited about 15 minutes as other customers were taking their time. Amanda L. was very kind and helped me pick between a few items and provided guidance for how to wear and care for them. I came in with a girlfriend to exchange a Christmas gift that I received for another size and from start to finish, my experience was incredible. Even though it was the weekend before Christmas, the store wasn't as crowded as I anticipated. We were helped by Jerad who was so warm and kind. He ended up showing me a few mini Evelynes, twillies and scarves because I said I wanted to start my Hermes journey towards a Birkin or Kelly. I also met Michelle who is the store director and she was absolutely amazing as well. They both explained that in they operate on a wishlist rather than leather appointments like in Europe and the point of building a relationship with the brand and your SA is so that they can identify who really loves their products vs those who want to just buy and resell it. What an amazing shop, it's nice that you can shop here without an appointment. I first came to this location a few months ago, honestly I didn't receive the best service at that time. I came here to drop off a Berkin to be repaired (a couple of scratches and needed new hardware). I contact the store to let them know about my experience, after a couple different people contacted me, I was told the managing director would contact me. Well she, Michelle called me and listen to all my concerns and I was so apologetic. Fast forward to today, I went to pick up the Berkin after all the repairs. I made sure Michelle was there to assist me. The Berkin looks almost like new, they did an amazing job. Oh and the service was so different this time around, you can tell they have a new manager. I had a couple people ask if I was being helped (that did not happen before) Just a head up if you need repairs it does take sometime, specially if they have to send your items to Paris. I came to get a watch band and had seen a few online. They assigned me Diane as a sales associate. The best way to describe her is standoffish. She seemed like she wanted to avoid any personal connection with clients. I wasn't sure if I wanted the double tour or the single tour. The band ends where they meet the watch have two different loop spacers. When I mentioned these to Diane she kept saying she didn't know what I was talking about. Then I tried on the rubber band for the 41 watch and actually liked it better than I thought I would. I asked her opinion and she said it would be inappropriate for her to give her opinion since I was the one who was going to wear it. Fair enough, but I said I would appreciate her input. She didn't budge. Isn't everything the store is selling going to be used by the customer and not the sales associate selling it?! I ended up buying the rubber band. Then I was hoping to look at the Oran sandal and asked for an associate who might be able to offer input and recommendations. Nobody was available so I had to go with Diane. Staff here is so kind and welcoming. Was a very busy day so I put my name on the waitlist and they welcomed me in to look around. She was helpful in getting me the right size and color of what I wanted and the process was nice and smooth. Since I have already paid for the belt and my appt was confirmed, I would have no issue picking it up before our dinner reservation. Boy was I WRONG!!! I wasn't going to leave a review for this location as I didn't purchase anything, as I was told they don't have any bags, and I likely won't get any bags because of a "shortage," and I wasn't offered assistance finding anything else I might be interested in. but I saw what was posted below by a customer from their communications from a higher-up. the message said they supposedly "treat all customers equal" and "no one has to buy anything to get a bag" and I'd like to corroborate that it is a load of crap on the end of customers. everyone knows that it is a system based on favoritism. how you gain favoritism might have to do with bias, and also with your dollars paying commission to ideally one S.A. across every type of item the store sells to prove loyalty and true interest in the brand's heritage. you're not just allowed to like the bags and want one, you have to "deserve it." Palo Alto's store is very small and serves a very affluent community, so you're competing for a very small quantity of bags. I doubt it is "first come first serve" and all fair across the board in this location, or the reviews here would reflect that and I would have received better service than "we don't have any," like being asked what KIND of bag I want, or be offered to get on a wait list if that's what they're really doing... it was very disappointing to just be dismissed. I am glad I gave Hermes a third chance and tried a larger flag ship store to find my dream bag that isn't even a quota bag. but the experience here almost put me off the brand forever! so I can't believe they have the gall to spread the rumor that "you don't need to spend a dime to be offered a Birkin or Kelly," that is a straight up fairy tale which will just lead them to more "annoying first time clients" asking about quota bags and probably having bad experiences. why can't they be forthcoming? it's more like, you don't need to spend anything, because you won't be offered or shown anything here. so yeah, on average I guess no one "has to spend anything" because they don't let anyone lol read more

Picked up a couple of beautiful items today at the Hermes Palo Alto boutique. Holden is a ray of sunshine! He's sincere, attentive, has great instinct on what works well on me and very informative. I always look forward to my visit to the boutique. I had went into the boutique today to look at their FW 2023 collection. I had inquired on a few pieces that I had seen online. Since it's a new collection, not all the pieces have arrived in the boutique today or are sold out. We both did a bit of browsing on his app to see the options for colors and sizes. Holden was able to help me pre-order a few pieces. Can't wait for these pieces to arrive! Today's visit wasn't just to see the FW 2023 collection but also to catch up with Holden. My visits to this boutique have always been wonderful. The team at this boutique are very friendly. A lot of times, I'm early to an appointment, so an associate would advise me that Holden is finishing up with his client and would offer me a drink. Came here on a Friday to shop for my birthday with my hubby and kiddos. We were fairly new to Hermes so we didn't make an appointment but they were open for walk-in at the time. Even though we only live 30 mins away from Stanford shopping mall, this was our first time at this Hermes boutique. My hubby was helped by Stella and while I was browsing around the women shoes section, another SA (I couldn't remember her name )was checking on me to see if I needed help with anything even though she was helping another client. Told her I needed to find a shoes size and she said she would check for me. A few minutes later, Stella, my hubby SA came out with both my hubby shoes and mine, informing me that the other SA found my shoes size and handed it over to Stella so she could assist both of us since we're together. You must use the online appointment system to do anything in the store - shop, return, get a repair done, etc. They will not take walk-ins. And it's possible they won't take same day appointments either because someone needs to "confirm" the appointment and they might not get to it because they are busy. Make sure you're ready to show your appointment confirmation email to the bouncer when you arrive! I've only had one good visit here.
