I've been working with Georgios for about 2 years. I first came to him due to a partial tear in my rotator cuff. I waited an entire year to seek actual help for it and I chose Georgios because of his crossfit background, so I didn't feel I needed to overexplain certain things (as to why I got the injury in the first place, etc). A few things to note about Georgios: He is kind, understanding, patient and has his active listening on point. While I am sitting there babbling my life away, he is really listening for potential stressors in my daily life that can be fixed. during the initial consultation (which is extremely thorough) he was able to identify which parts of my body needed the most work. He. Is. Magic. Since I've begun working with him, my shoulder is 100x better. I am hitting my old #s with my snatch (they were not very high, but I avoided the movement altogether) and the only thing holding me back at this point is me (I still need other work) but as in the regeneration of tissues, he has done a beautiful job of repairing it. I also could not do push ups w/o pain, or bench presses, and I can now do those movements painfree. I also came to him for a cold I had earlier this year and I meant to cancel my appointment, and he "strongly suggested" I still come in. Though I was in no mood to go ANYWHERE, I listened to the doctor's orders, and I still stand by this: He. Is. Magic. My cold did not disappear in 1 day, however, it did not accelerate like it usually does. He knows his stuff. Last thing I'd like to note is that Georgios is not all about the money and lives a balanced life. I think this is important because he does not run his business like a nail salon where it crams his life, he schedules other ventures in his life accordingly so that he is truly present with each session with his patient. I loved my experience with Georgios at Hermes Holistic and I will be back! I've been doing crossfit for years and have had many injuries where I received help for my pain from my primary care physician, physical therapists and chiropractors. They provided me with relief but it felt only temporary in my opinion. I recently pulled a muscle in my back which caused me so much pain to even breathe. I have to admit that I was very hesitant to do acupuncture not because I have a fear of needles but that I suffer from anxiety, claustrophobia and the thought of having needles in me not being able to move very much made me even more anxious. Georgios made me feel so comfortable. He empathized my fear and he helped calm me down by normalizing my feelings. He even left a small crack in the door for me. Such a nice guy! Throughout the session I felt as if the acupuncture relaxed me and de-stressed my nervous system. I can't believe I was there for an entire hour. After my session with Georgios, I went from not being able to walk upright or having difficulty breathing that day to having way less pain and to my surprise I walked out of his room standing up straight. I don't understand how this therapy works but my relief carried on throughout the weekend and I even went back for another session (with the door closed! I suffered an upper back injury doing an Open Wod (shocking I know) and was in constant pain in the scap/rhomboid areas that would often travel to the delt and lats. I was forced to stop exercising except for running, I was unable to do anything on the rig, any pressing, or even front rack a barbell. I tried several weeks of body work and deep tissue, which provided only temporary relief. After only a couple sessions with George I would be pain free for much of the day. Now after 2-3 months of treatment months I am completely pain free and rebuilding strength after 8 months of very limited exercise. I recently had my first appt with Georgio. And let me tell you right now, he didn't not disappoint. I saw him for acute lower back pain that was getting in the way of my ADLs and I was desperate. I was unable to turn, unable to sleep, unable to sit or lie down without it being painful. It was my first time going to an acupuncturist and let me just say it was the beginning to many more! I don't really do reviews but I knew this was a necessary one. Georgio really listened to my concerns, he was very knowledgable and professional! I was nervous to do facial acupuncture because I must admit I'm nervous about needles but I have to be honest and say that I didn't even feel when Georgio placed them in my face! Georgios is a miracle worker! After a lifetime suffering from OCD triggered anxiety as well as increased anxiety due to PTSD, I was seeking an alternative to western medicine as I have never liked the way these treatments impacted my body and mental state. Acupuncture was suggested to me by my doctor as something I should explore and I am so glad I did. After a few treatments, my anxiety was noticeably minimized and my sleep patterns had dramatically improved. While in the midst of my treatments, I also suffered a physical injury to my knee so Georgios began addressing that injury in conjunction with my other treatments and I can honestly say that my recovery was significant expedited as a result. I highly recommend Hermes Holistic to those curious about eastern medicine and therapies as you will be surprised by the wide variety of issues that can be treated and the high level of efficacy.
