I accidentally side swiped my boyfriends car and took off the passenger mirror. It's an older vehicle but I took it straight to the dealership to make an appointment and order the piece needed to replace the mirror. They were gonna charge me minimum $1000 for the part. I almost fainted but it needed to get done. I then called our family mechanic, Joy automotive, and they referred me to Herman's. They send all their clients there and said they are trustworthy. I was so happy so I went early in the morning when they opened to see if they could help me. They were very honest, trustworthy, reliable and fixed our problem in a couple hours (once the part came in). I'm not the only review who raves about this long standing family owned business, but I just had to add to the raving. Also, they are closed on weekends. Closed on weekends means they actually care about their employees and understand that they have a life and families which you do not see in 2022 with most other businesses. Thanks again for helping be right my wrong fast and efficiently. read more

Ran into a cement block at Ralph's and it was taken care of the next day within two hours. Tony was so pleasant and the price was amazing.

Very pleased with the quality of the work and the value. Definitely recommend. I only needed minor body work but it was clearly done with care and consideration. read more

Amazing work and very honest auto body. Gary was awesome to work with, very communicative and on top of everything. Had a really hard time with Tesla Insurance and he put in hours on the phone sorting through their nonesense. This is a family owned shop and very trustworthy. Dont hesitate using them! read more

It seems I am here every three or four years, going back about twenty years. I have had only good experiences at Herman's, and I now trust them completely. This time, I arrived with my Equinox EV after pulling into a space with a low, hidden pole. AAA said $5500 damage. A difficult iridescent color to match. Flawless work and completely quick and efficient in handling things. The car was fully detailed when I picked it up. I wouldn't go anywhere else, even though AAA had other suggestions read more

So kind, helpful, and honest. They don't try to sell you anything you don't need and worked super quick. Highly recommend this place!

Our bumper must have hit the curb, the panels behind were bent and almost fell off. Technician took no time to push the panels flat, tied them together, and declined a charge. Can't pay him enough with a tip for his willingness to help. Will definitely recommend this neighborhood body shop to all local friends! read more

Amazing body shop. They do excellent work. I am highly satisfied with the outcome of their repairs. Great customer service. Five stars to everyone I talked to at this shop. Special thanks to Tony who took care of the process and responded promptly to my questions and concerns. Please thank those involved with the repair and painting. I highly recommend coming here. Your car will be in good hands! read more

Just had my second experience with Herman's and I can't say enough great things about this business. I was in an auto accident where someone opened their car door while I was passing their parked car and lost my mirror and had plenty of damage to the passenger doors and side panels. My insurance kept trying to get me in with one of their "select/approved" repair shops but they were all so busy they couldn't even start repair on my car for another month. Hermans took me in on the same day I called them and they even advised me how to get things moving faster with my insurance. 8 days later my car was ready for pick up. They were super helpful, communicative and they even detailed the inside of my car. They really helped reduce the level of stress and frustration I had dealing with this whole situation and the insurance companies. Highly recommend and I had no problems with the whole process of selecting them even though they weren't on the list of approved vendors through my insurance. Thanks Gary! read more

They did a great job w my car for a great price! I appreciate how they worked w my schedule to get the repairs done as soon as possible. I highly recommend Herman's! read more

They do a good job. Found my car with 10+ more miles, in sport mode and the driver seat calibrated very differently though. I will take down this post if the team proves otherwise read more

Love these guys! I always use them for any car repairs as need be, but I also have come to them several times with questions about my car that didn't require actual service and they were happy to help me out free of charge. So happy I live so close to Hermans and appreciate the amazing customer service! Thank you!! read more

I was just thinking I enjoyed their service so much I wanted to come here to give them a good rating (how often does that happen) but dang I guess they don't need it! Service was really fast & courteous. Good communication. Honest. Car looks great, came back cleaner than I gave it to them. Tony is the man! No complaints. Thanks for the great job guys! read more

Really friendly people. I stopped by looking for a quote and received one within a few minutes. They are honest and do a nice job - a nice change for the industry. read more

Amazing service. Quality work. Fair pricing. Great team! Thank you.

A friend recommended Hermans. So happy he did. They're fast, professional, incredibly fair prices, and thorough.

Recently my corvette was hit in the parking lot and needed a new front bumper. In addition I was keyed a while ago and put off the repair. When I took my car for the bumper replacement I decided to have the big scratch repaired as well. Gary was a pleasure to chat with and get everything aligned with my insurance and with the person that needed to pay for hitting my car. The finished job is excellent. Thanks guys! I highly recommend them. Oh and their prices are very fair as well. read more

See all

Brought my car in for a fix. The day my car got banged up they gave me a quote within hours of leaving the lot. They gave me an ETA of how long it would take and they finished early ! The car looks great again. Excellent service. Gary & Tony are very professional and look out for their customers ! read more

Take your vehicle to another shop unless you want to wait over two months for a job that should only take about two weeks. This shop will give you every excuse in the book and screw you over. Everyone here is professional and helpful. My estimate required modification for the insurance company and Tony was gracious and agreeable. Highly recommend. read more

This is one of the best auto body shops I've worked with. Not that I've had the need for many. They are always friendly and professional. They work closely with my insurance company to make sure all the damage is covered and fixed. They go above and beyond, cleaning my car while they service it. They are such a pleasure to work with, and their work is amazing. If my car ever needs body work, this is the place I'm going to. read more

Herman's auto body has the most reliable and honest customer service of any shop I have encountered. I had my Audi repaired there for minor body work. They were courteous, extremely prompt (1 day in, 2 days repair, 3rd day done) and they are so professional. In contrast to the experience I had elsewhere I will always recommend Herman's! The best! read more

I came to Herman's after seeing all the great reviews, and was glad I did. Great service (shoutout to Gary), communication, and quality. read more

Hermans Auto Body - Before photos on the left, after on the right. My car looks BRAND new. You'd never know I got hit by some jackass in an intersection. - Body Shops Near Me - Santa Monica, California

Hermans was fantastic, they perfectly repaired the damage to my vehicles body for a fair price and even washed my car for me when they we're done. Highly recommend! read more

This is a body shop: the place you take your car after an accident to get it fixed. Odd as it may sound, you want to go here: the level of expertise is apparent from the moment they start to look at the car to their understanding of what repairs might be hidden under the damaged you have. They are prompt and successful at getting through to insurance companies to talk about supplementals, and are as fast as they can be, given that the companies don't think they are a priority. I had someone rear-end my car in traffic, and the insurance company had directed me to the body shop they wanted to do an estimate. I heard about Herman's, and wanted them to do the work, so I handed over the paperwork from the prior estimate and the phone numbers and people who had talked to me. It worked, and I actually got it repaired between Wednesday and Tuesday of the following week: FAST. As I said, these are the people you want working on your car, because they keep you up to date and let you know what's happening. Hire them. read more

Amazing work!!! Repaired damage to the side door of my VW Atlas. Tony made sure my car was ready when promised and was done in less than a week. Washed my car inside and out. Even dusted my car off after it's over the weekend stay at Herman's.. presentation is everything!! Thank you so much to Tony and his employees!! read more

Recently took my 10-year-old 911 in for very minor cosmetic work on the rear bumper. All the guys at Herman's are great!  Gary was very easy to work with and there was no BS.  The color matching process is amazing and shows a master craftsman doing what he does best.  The car is perfect and I'd highly recommend them. read more

So I wake up to find someone ran into my 5 year old GTI while it was parked on the street in front of our house. And of course no note. Having dealt with Herman's before, they were my second call after the insurance company. As before, they delivered. Swung by late morning and Tony took a quick look, said he'd email me an estimate. I had it before I walked back into work. Talked with insurance, arranged to drop the car off. Got it back a few days later better than new. Tony let me know that the insurance company quote had used parts and wanted to make sure I knew and was ok with that. They dealt with the insurance company from that point, I just showed up and wrote a check for my deductible and drove off in my fixed car. I recommend them without hesitation. read more

Just had my car repaired at Herman's, I worked with George. I went on multiple body shops around LA that priced the repairs at $2,500 whereas George charged $500. I was beyond happy with the above and beyond customer service, fast turn around times, extremely reasonable pricing and of course the end result. My car looks great and was gone for a single day. So impressed! read more

I had a hit-and-run bumper bash in Venice, and even though I filed a police report (and since the eyewitness was unable to get the license plate of the f*#%^@g drunk-ass driving a Porsche Cayenne that did it) I got stuck with the deductible. Herman's made that a lot less painful. First of all, and don't be put off by this, there may be a wait to get into the queue. This is a very good sign. Second of all, all the cars there were a lot nicer than my little 8 year old Jetta. Also a good sign. But that didn't mean Gary and the boys treated me any different than some rich west sider with a brand-new Benz. Gary was a responsive and thorough project manager, and everybody there was friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I got my OEM bumper, the car was delivered as good as new, and although I hope I never see a body shop ever again, if I do, it'll definitely be these guys. read more

Great service, they were quick and thorough. My insurance company recommended Caliber but I asked around and my repair shop , More Joy, recommended this place. Dealt with my insurance company well. They even fixed a few other minor dings for free! read more

My Car: 2006 Audi A4 The Damage: I pulled partially over a curb in a parking spot at a strip mall and when I reversed back, my bumper caught the curb and flipped open. I immediately looked on yelp for the highest ratest autobody repair shops and came across Herman's. Service: I called on my way over to Herman's and George picked up the phone. He knew the problem and invited me to come on in so he could take a look. I pulled in to their parking lot and George (the same person who picked up the phone) brought in one of his mechanics. George offered me two solutions, the temporary solution of just bolting on the bumper and the total replacement solution. I naturally asked for a quote for the total replacement. George brought me inside and got me a detailed quote that reflected parts and service. In the meantime, George's mechanic bolted my bumber into place. The car looked great after the temporary solution and there was no need for replacement. I was in and out in less than fifteen minutes. These guys are professional and honest. read more

First a big tip: ASK FOR GEORGE! HE is the man! Incredibly kind, efficient, and, as I nicked my Dad's car, tended up saving my life. George is truly a magnificent human being. Now, the full review: THE BEST. A google search, if your in the area, will probably suggest H&H Auto Body for you, with fairly decent reviews. DO NOT GO THERE. H&H gave me an estimate of $3,500 worth of repairs of which they said I would be lucky to have done within a week. Immediately took to Herman's, and they gave me an estimate of $1,300 and they said it could be done in two days! The results: AMAZING. I had side swiped my own car (a black Lexus) on a yellow pole that completely tore up the left side of my car. When I got it back two days later, it was as if the accident had never happened. I'm still blown away. I cannot rave about this place enough. read more

Long story short...a tow truck drove past my VW Tiguan and the car it was towing came loose and fell onto my parked car and crushed it. Literally out of a movie. Yes. I know. Anyway, George was super easy to work with and was super communicative with me all along the way. My old crushed car looks new and wonderful and perfect. I will most definitely be coming back here for any body work I have. A++! read more

I have been using Herman's at this location since the late 80's. Though the name changed several years back, it is still apparently owned by the same family since the 60's at this location, with many of the same employees. George Torres has been handling the repairs for our family for most of that time. He is always a pleasure to deal with. Incidentally, on those occasions where I have been asked to get several estimates, Herman's has always been competitive. read more

I needed to get my front bumper, fender repaired and rear bumper replaced on my 2001 Audi S4. I had been looking for a good body shop in the area and found Herman's Auto Body in Santa Monica. After calling I drove down and met with Tony we went over all the damaged areas. I handed over the keys that day. George the general manager kept me in loop during the entire process and sent me photos of the repairs as they were being worked on. Less than two weeks later my car was finished and turned out amazing. They matched the factory pearl blue paint perfectly. It's awesome, job done above and beyond. Great service from start to finish. read more
