What a great find! Me and my family are traveling for business and while I was looking for somewhere to eat I came across this place! Tia was our waitress and she was very welcoming and helpful! The food was really delicious and came out quickly! We had the duck fat fries, I had the spicy scallop linguine, and my parents had the fish&chips and the ribeye! We all really enjoyed our meal and would recommend it to anyone in the area :) it's got a great cozy but upscale feel that makes it special and inviting. We also had cheesecake and it was light and fluffy. Not the heavy kind that makes you feel sick! Very good!

Duck fat fries with feta, pickled fennel seeds, csrdamom and something umami I can't put my finger on that pushes this dish over the top.

A truly amazing experience. Food, ambience, attentiveness to detail, creativity, front/back of the house, serving... it's all exceptional!

Delmonico steak, scalloped potatoes, and roasted Brussel sprouts-- very very good!!

Celebrated Father's Day with my wife & son. Very nice establishment, food was outstanding, and service was extremely pleasing & welcoming. I had the Delmonico steak & scalloped potatoes, son had salmon & wife had crab cakes. Topped it all off with kiwi lime pie. We will be back many times!

Fish and chips. It comes with a lot more fries but I ate a bunch before I took this pic

I recently had dinner at The Heritage Restaurant in Shamokin and it was amazing! The food exceeded all of my expectations. I had the fish and chips and it was delicious. The best I've ever had. The breading was so crispy with the perfect amount of crunch and the fish was tender, moist and so flavorful. And the fries were awesome too! We also got the Pulled Pork Nachos and the Duck Fat Fries and let me tell you they were so so good! Better than any nachos anywhere. The pulled pork and homemade bbq sauce had such a great taste we finished it all! The fries packed with so much umami (I wasn't quite sure what this word meant until I had these fries) and richness they were hard to put down. I also tried some of the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was also amazing! The chicken thighs were so juicy and the sauce was perfect. Again, probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had, and I've had a lot. The restaurant itself was very nice and rustic with an upscale feel. A beautiful decor filled with signs and memorabilia of past tenants and local favorites. And the service was prompt and friendly, which is rare these days. I swear I could have been eating in one of those trendy restaurants you'd find in a large city like Philly or NYC or on a food show. I highly recommend The Heritage Restaurant. Their menu recently changed, which it does seasonly, and I can't wait to try their new offerings.

    Whatever this stuff is.

I wanted to like this place. I hate eating in the coal region when I visit my parents. This place seemed like it would be a great new restaurant and a breath of fresh air in this dilapidated area. I want start by letting you know our food took close to TWO HOURS to come out to us. Multiple tables (who arrived WELL after we did) had gotten their food before we were served anything. Our waitress checked on us once in this timeframe. I would go into further detail but I really want to get into the how the food was. This place is disgusting. It is a pathetic excuse for a restaurant that made me sick as soon as I walked out the door. I didn't eat more than two bites of each part of my meal and my stomach was in shambles. What I ordered... "Cedar Plank Salmon, Garlic butter sautéed mushrooms, and Mac and cheese(because I heard this specifically was good from here)" What I got... I don't even know how to comment on the cedar plank salmon. Have the cooks at this place ever eaten any food flavored with wood? I HIGHLY doubt they could have. Why? They smothered this fish in the most unappetizing slop I've ever eaten. It wasn't the way a real restaurant would approach the same meal. Maybe a dry rub and some lemon and butter? No... A coating of sauce that caramelizes as the salmon cooks to create a savory layer to the flaky fish? No... They flavored it with something that tasted like chinese duck sauce and red pepper flakes. Through the horrible sauce you got the piercing bite of gamy salmon. If that wasn't enough once I scrapped away the mound of sauce I revealed the true color of this prime cut of fish. The grayish pink flesh of this "locally sourced" salmon. Where Did you source it? The Walmart in coal township? The salmon was pathetic. You should be ashamed of serving it to a paying customer. Next is the "Mac and cheese". How dare you do this to Mac and cheese... Again, you should be ashamed. There was no real taste of cheese and looked and tasted like maybe ketchup was in it? What in the world is wrong with you people?! Seriously? What the heck are you doing? I have nothing else I could possibly say. It was so bad you offended me. Your Mac and Cheese is SO TERRIBLE that I feel disrespected by it. MOVING ON! Lastly the mushrooms... Soggy garlic mushrooms that had absolutely no depth in flavor. The person cooking them had no clue how to prepare a mushroom and didn't let the moisture cook out while they sautéed them. The result? I wet mess I was served. They were covered in butter and garlic but tasted only like mushroom because they didn't let them actually absorb the VERY simple flavors they chose to use. This should have been a cakewalk. It was a travesty. I deserve every penny of my money back. I am sure that won't happen but hopefully someone choosing not to eat at this place because of the review will give me a bit of satisfaction.

Danielle, the bartender is an excellent mixologist!

Danielle, the bartender is an excellent mixologist! A great place to eat in Shamokin, you can't go wrong here. Located on the corner in a beautiful historic building exceptionally redone. The menu has everything from burgers to the best tuna I've had in awhile. The bar will be famous for its cocktails, Jon Taffer would be proud of these guys! Great atmosphere!

If you squint you will be able to see the very beginnings of a fragile rebound. Shamokin, a city on life support at best is starting to stir a bit, and it's because of dedicated citizens putting their money where their mouth is. Heritage is a very nice restaurant that celebrates, you guessed it, our local heritage. My family ate there for the first time last night and we were blown away by the work put into what was a pretty dilapidated building. The food was excellent and the service was good. One of the knocks seems to be prices. I didn't find anything expensive for what it is. The prices are quite fair for what you're ordering. It's not fast food or bar prices, but it's not fast food or bar food. By the time you pack up the car and drive to Selinsgrove for Applebee's you would save money by keeping it local. The work put into this place, the unique food and drink menu, and the faith the owners put in the local community to support them makes Heritage a must visit.

The Heritage Restaurant is Shamokin's best by far. You won't find several menu items anywhere else in the area. A must try.

I just had a very rude encounter with Brandon, a manager there. Based on his rudeness alone, I would not recommend going here.
