Love this trail, people were friendly, it runs along the railroad track and you can watch people peddle the rail cars. Everyone seemed to be enjoying there ride. There was even art work, and a free water station along the trail.

Delightful crushed-stone trail to bike on

This 22 mile rail trail begins in York and ends at the PA-MD state line.  The trail goes alongside the railroad that was built in the 1800's and was in use through 1972.  The crushed stone trail makes the soothing crackling sound.  It's perfect for biking, even for road bikes.  On this delightful sunny brisk mid-September day, we put out the bike carrier and deployed our bikes for a 13 mile round trip ride.  We parked our car at Brillhart Station parking lot, which was big but surprisingly jam-packed. We biked from Brillhart Station to Hanover Junction Station, passing through Howard Tunnel and Seven Valleys along the way.  We saw farm lands, corn fields, a tunnel, creeks, and rocky hills.  We spent some time taking pictures around the Howard Tunnel which is the oldest continuously used railroad tunnel in the US.  We spent even more time at the Seven Valleys parking lot which has a lot of picnic tables to consume our snacks, and 3 colorful giant bicycles which present another great photo op.  We stopped at the Hanover Junction Station which has a few interesting outdoor sculptures.  It has men's and women's restrooms; however, they were closed perhaps due to COVID-19.  Fortunately, there's a Porta John next to the picnic tables. We had a great time experiencing this segment of the Heritage Rail Trail between Brillhart and Hanover Junction.

Nice walking trail that winds for more than 22 miles through urban and rural landscapes between the Maryland state line and the city of York, PA. For those who need to rest from time to time, there are memorial benches along the path. We haven't walked the entire length, but have enjoyed starting at the two separate trailheads ~ Shrewsbury and Brillhart Station. Both are very easy to walk/jog or ride bikes on. We first discovered the trail after moving to the MD area 9 years ago. Sadly, the trail has deteriorated to some degree with the encroachment of vegetation. A new ball field has been put in at Brillhart Station so perhaps "someone" will start to maintain the trail. About 1.5 miles S of Brillhart Station trailhead is the 370-foot-long Howard Tunnel. At milepost 11 the borough of Seven Valleys provides an opportunity for refreshments at the cafe, tavern or wine shop. About half a mile farther S is the restored Hanover Junction train station restored to appear as it did in 1863. Close to the Maryland state line portion the trail runs through farmlands and the banks of Codorus Creek. The Heritage Rail Trail passes through Glen Rock, Railroad and New Freedom. From New Freedom's restored railroad station it is just 1.5 miles to the Mason-Dixon Line and the connection to Maryland's 20-mile Torrey C. Brown Rail Trail, which is also known as the Northern Central Railroad Trail. We haven't explored the York, PA portion beyond Brillhart Station so I can't comment. For the most part the trail is shaded by trees which makes it stay pretty cool. There is a railroad track on one side of the trail and Codorus Creek on the other. The towns along the trail seem to cater to bike riders which is really nice!

This park is BEAUTIFUL! We love taking our golden as often as possible. The whole park is not off…read moreleash. Only in the off leash enclosures is it ok to not have your dog off their leash. This review is mostly about the enclosed dog park. I have been going here for almost a year. The one thing that can ruin a good time at the best dog park I've ever been to this is of course the people. I STRONGLY advise reading and respecting the rules. You will be fined and or asked to leave, I've seen it happen to others. DO NOT take your small dog to the big dog side and vice versa. If you know anything about dog behavior this is a bad bad bad idea, even if your perfect angel dog is well adjusted with dogs bigger or smaller than them. Keep them on their respective side. Should your dog get hurt or hurt another dog it will be your fault for not reading the rules. I have seen it happen to others. Just don't do it, it's not worth it. Keep an eye on your dog an make sure they are playing nice. My dog has been picked on by others and it's never fun for me to correct other peoples dogs to keep mine safe. Do not bring babies and toddlers, even if there adult to baby ratio is 1:1. Should an accident happen it will be your fault for not reading the rules. We all just want to have a nice time with our pups! PS: They do switch the big dog and small dog sides every now and then so do read the signage before entering. In conclusion: INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL dog park; read and follow the rules.
