Yelp is making me select at least one star - they don't deserve one! SMH We selected Amerigas because they were the only provider that could supply a tank at the time. Currently our tank is empty - we failed to realize the tank was so low. That part is clearly our responsibility. We contacted Amerigas on Dec 26 to request a refill. The offshore call center gave us a window for delivery of Dec 27 - Jan 2. Today is Jan 6 and we have not heard anything about scheduling a delivery. We have called the call center daily. We have been assured that the issue has been escalated, but we are going into another weekend without gas. I do not recommend this company. There seems to be no way to talk to a local representative. Even the call centered admitted that they do not have two way communications with the local reps. It's very ironic that the company name is "Ameri"gas when you cannot talk to someone stateside about your issues. read more

Call their number, and you get......after several minutes of dealing with a freaking voice menu that absolutely will not let you talk to a human......you get someone in India you can barely understand. "I want a price quote on summer fill up." "Let me schedule a delivery sir" "No, I want a PRICE QUOTE, not schedule a delivery" and was finally quoted a price per gallon. Then asked "how many gallons ?"......well heck, I don't know...whatever it takes to fill up the tank !! Probably 350 gallons or so (500 gal tank)......so they want you to pre-pay right then for some number of gallons. OK I asked....what if I need a few more gallons to finish filling, or a few less gallons than 350 ? "Well sir, if you need more, the amount would be higher" explains the lady like I must not understand basic economics !! Went round and round with her and never did get an answer. Finally hung up. Called the company I normally use, where they sent out a truck and I pay the driver for the AMOUNT PUT IN THE TANK. Price was higher, but I'm not sure price means anything at Heritage/Amerigas, since I wasn't actually able to negotiate a delivery. read more

If I could give 0 I would, I have been trying since May the 27 to get someone from Airgas to come and get their tank first it was to fixed their tank and no one came so then I wanted them to just come and get their tank out of my yard. Well I am still waiting and We are fixing to roll the tank to the road so we can get someone to bring us a tank and some propane we have no heat except a heater. They are the worst people to work with and you can forget talking to someone local because that's not happening. Kat read more

Like a previous reviewer said, I gave 1 star because it wouldn't let me give a zero. One of the worst experiences with a company in my 60+ years. Heritage was okay until they were taken over by Amerigas. After that I spent three years getting incorrect bills and then had to fight with them over late fees they charged on money I didn't owe. It would take months and repeated calls to get everything straightened out and then the next year the same thing would happen all over again. Three years in a row. Finally in January of 2023 I told them to cancel my account and come get my tank. It took 5 calls and almost 7 months before they got their tank out of my yard. I had trouble communicating with most of the customer service staff and none of them seemed to ever care about the problems I was having. We have had Amerigas for one year, filled up twice. On our 3rd attempt, to fill. We order our propane the 21st of September, we were told it was going to be 7 days to get filled. Should be filled by the 28th of September, it is now the 24th of October, no gas. We have called 9x, each with its own answer (guess, lie) to when we will get our fill (we kinda already have had our fill, we've stopped trying to call). We have been told tomorrow (6x), next Monday (1x), hurricane delay (1), by the end of the week (1) and today (1). Tired of getting lied to. Also, if you take a single delivery, you automatically agree to their "terms and conditions ". Interesting... however, you can cancel at any time by paying them to come remove your tank (if it's rented) and pay for them to remove the gas you have paid for (5lbs or less per TDOT). If you're able to purchase the tank (-$2000) you can buy gas from any company at about half the price of Amerigas. So that's what we are doing. A friend of mine told me their horror story, called in October of last year, wasn't serviced until March of next year, no propane, no heat, no hot water for the winter. Sounds absolutely awesome. Here it is Christmas Eve and no propane delivery even though I have requested it repeatedly all month. I have had propane for 30 years and I KNOW when I need a delivery. They said I have 35% - I don't, it's way lower, Roan Mountain gets snow, power outages, and I try to be prepared, especially for my heat. Unless you're willing to fight over every aspect of your propane bill, avoid this company at all costs! Every interaction I had throughout my one year as a Heritage Propane customer was painful. My impression is they are a crooked company that will bill random extra fees which will be removed if you question them... but since most folks pay their bills without scrutiny, I expect Heritage Propane is making away like a bandit on these sneaky fees. Here are the "highlights" of my experience with them: Initially Heritage Propane quoted me about half of what competitors were quoting for a 1 year tank lease and fill, but when it came time to sign, the final paperwork included enough additional fees to bring the price up well above competitors. They price-matched when I called this out. I grilled them on whether there would be any more fees for the first year and was told no - I could pay in full now and not receive another bill for the whole year - everything was included in this "final" number. After signing a 1 year agreement and paying in full, they were a full 4 weeks late delivering the tank based on their quoted install date. After the installation, I was sent a bill for yet more fees despite their previous assurances that the amount I prepaid was the true full amount. When I disputed these new billed fees they reversed them. Once the year agreement was up and I decided to return my tank, I gave them a call to schedule removal. On the phone they insisted a ~$40 fee was the only charge to pick up the tank, so I paid that and scheduled pickup. After the tank was collected I received yet another bill charging me for the $40 again plus an extra $150 in previously-undisclosed fees! Again I phoned in to dispute these fees and the double charge of the tank removal. Heritage tried to claim this was an early cancellation penalty for my 3-year lease agreement... when I produced my own copy of the original paperwork indicating a 1-year lease, they tried to claim the lease terms had changed AFTER I signed and my contract had been swapped to a 3year term without my consent! Absurd! After extensive pushback they dropped these fees and agreed to honor the original, valid contract. read more

Staff is very personable and professional. Very prompt to respond to request for propane or other services. I highly recommend them.

I had questions about the annual tank fee, and the young lady on their phone was EXTREMELY HELPFUL. I love it when questions can be answered without me driving to their office. Great! read more
