They will take your money and then cancel for no good reason, for any foolish reason. The refund you get is less than the amount of time you were insured by them. They try to give you a hard time when you call to ask about it, and it becomes clear that they were well aware and this is how the job is done, they make easy money like this. Eventually, they say it's non-refundable and state-regulated, etc. My advice to myself would have been not to sign up with them; you'll just lose money and have to look for something else anyway. read more

I have used Heritage Insurance for the past 5 years, and will not use their services going forward. Terrible customer service with a shady disclosure of additional fees. I am not someone who gets up in arms about things very easily, but I feel like this review needs to be made as a warning to potential customers. I worked with Rosa, and received a call from her a few weeks ago alerting me to a rate increase with my current insurance provider. She said she could transfer me to another insurance company for a much lower rate - great! I was told I would receive a call on the 22nd to get everything moved over since that is when my old insurance coverage would be up. The 22nd came and went with no phone call. That day, I got charged an outrageous rate by my old insurance company for renewal of coverage Rosa said we would be transferring to another company. I called her on the 23rd to ask what happened and was told "I'm sorry we didn't call you - we're very busy, and can't always call people so you should have called us instead". From a customer service level, I feel like that's ridiculous. If you set an appointment to call your customer, you call them... and you don't blame them for your mistakes. She called the old insurance company to get the charge reversed. Still waiting on that to happen. We then set up my insurance with the new insurance company, and she verbally disclosed the premium to me, specifically calling it a premium, and never mentioning that included in that price is a $100 broker fee to Heritage Insurance (on top of the commission Heritage already receives from the insurance companies they work with). After being charged the premium plus a separate broker fee (which I had never been charged for before), I called Rosa to discuss it, and she was extremely defensive and dismissive of my concern. The fee was hidden in the documents I signed, so I understand my obligation to pay at this point, but it was never disclosed to me, and the total amount charged was presented as a premium, and not a premium plus broker fee. I was never given the opportunity to speak with someone other than Rosa about my concerns. read more

Horrible customer service. I was referred here. Got a good rate on homeowners insurance. I've had nothing but problems since. You cannot speak with anyone above the receptionist. Agents won't answer phone or return calls. Received notice of cancellation on my new policy. The notice directs you to the agent. The escrow company says that they sent a check. I can't resolve because no one will return my calls or speak with me. Do not use this company! read more

The roadside assistance is suck. I did this twice. The first time, we wait 3 hours in rain, and they can not find the location even with address. 2nd time, another 2 and helf hours, and I'm still waiting now. read more

Worst company I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. There Nampa Idaho rep (Matt) Did not cancel my insurance when I talked to him two months ago and got a bill from this company. I had recalled all of our conversations and he LIED to me over the phone when I called and got the insurance cancelation date from Bristol ins. I personally think the Idaho rep should not be allowed to conduct business in this state. I was referred to Heritage insurance through my progressive direct representative. Fortunately for myself I reached out to a very knowledgeable and motivated agent named Michelle. Michelle was able to explain to me in much better detail the circumstances of my situation, and was my wisest courses of action would be to take. I highly recommend Michelle at Heritage insurance for advice and sales. For what it's worth I'm writing this review of my own free will. No one has fueled this besides me. Good luck! read more

If I could give them no stars I would. They gave me the run around and blamed the other insurance company when I wanted to change my due date and I got over charged even with automatic payments deducted from my bank account. I got my car broken into and my Louis purse was stolen along with $235 and I was told that my insurance doesn't cover it so my loving boyfriend was upset too and didn't want me to pay the $185 for the window replacement so he paid it for me to get it fixed which made me even more mad because the insurance SHOULD'VE covered it AND I have full coverage insurance!!!! Even my co workers thought that was strange that my window wasn't covered do to no fault of my own. Heritage has been a nightmare since I've been with them! I can't wait til June for my 6 months to be done....BOTTOM LINE, DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Awful customer service. At my insurance renewal, the rate jumped twice the amount I was paying at the time. I asked them to cancel my policy because I am not going to pay twice the amount I pay for no apparent reason. I have good credit, had auto-pay so I was never late on bills, no claims, no tickets. They just decided I need to pay twice the amount because I guess I was a good loyal customer. Not sure how that works. Anyways, I called to cancel my policy and the girl told me I have to put it in writing. I did and I ask for a confirmation once it is canceled. I absolutely did not want to pay for another day to work with them anymore. Three days later, still no confirmation. I called to follow up on the cancellation. The girl gave me the wrong information. Then she told me that my policy was cancelled but she cannot send me any confirmation. I need to call the insurance directly who keeps telling me to talk to my agent. So lucky I never had to file a claim with them. That would have been a total nightmare. Safe to say I will never do business with Heritage again. If you are even thinking about using them as your agent, you need to put on your best running shoes and sprint as fast as you can away from these people. read more
