This place is very beautiful and is a retiree's paradise. They have three places to get food, many activities and there are plenty of different apartments to choose from. The price is reasonable (a bit high but better than closer to Fairfax). The nicest thing about it is that you can go from independent care to assisted living without paying any more money (you pay for it up front and your allotted food money gets lower); allowing for a more worry-free living. If you (or someone you know) is looking for a place like this, I suggest reserving a tour for this place. You can wait list yourself many years in advance of retiring as well or becoming of age to be enrolled (you must be 64 in order to be enrolled - there trying to move it to 60 though, however). There is a grocery store close by (Martin's) as well as a Wal-Mart in which case they have shuttle service once a week.

So, I've spent a good amount of time here. I can say that it is the best place that she has lived since leaving her house. They have lots of activities and get her to her doctor appointments any day/time that she schedules them. They have good food, a pool, gym, library, theater, conference rooms, and other features that give my grandmother plenty to do. I particularly enjoy the wooded trails that surround the complex. The proximity to the hospital and numerous doctor's offices is also a big plus. Having been through a number of assisted living places in the past, I would say that this one is of very high caliber.

We received a call from a caretaker who could hardly speak enough English to tell us what hospital he was taken to. We told her to have the RN call us immediately. It has been four days and we have still not heard from waltonwood higher ups or medical staff, including the executive director we asked to have contact us. We went to get some things from his place and saw the room had been totally rearranged, including bad attempts at cleaning up the puddles of blood from his fall. Please remember that our grandfather is immobile, and it is not like he could even roll or attempt to fall off the bed. I think there is a strong reason as to why Waltonwood is silent, and per my last review I can only hope families of residents and potential ones see this.

It would be five stars but the food and dining room service is AWFUL. I emailed several times to the "chef" and director with zero response. Tracey manages independent living and she is very nice but not empowered to make any changes. For $6-$7k a month they can afford to pay their staff better and get a real chef. Beautiful, new facility however...My mother in law was a resident for almost 2 years before she…read morepassed away November 2023. For the last year of her stay, she was bedridden so she relied solely on the staff for care and she paid additional for this care. She had an alert pendant around her neck to let the staff know if she needed something. She complained a lot that it took a long time to get someone to change her diaper, adjust her in bed, etc. On more than one occasion, we checked her pendant to see if it was working correctly and noticed that the battery had been removed. The overall condition of the room was unsanitary: dirty floors, filthy bedside table, overflowing trash. We did voice our concerns and the issues were addressed temporarily until our next visit. In addition, we have still not received the refund from her prepayment for her last month's care. We had been promised multiple times even after in person visits to the business manager that "the check is in the mail". To date, we have not received the reimbursement check and no one is returning our calls.
