As my mom got sick toward the end, she required hospice support, and we were so happy she could remain at the Wellington during this time. The hospice staff along with the Wellington nursing staff made everything as peaceful as possible for her. My brother, sister, and I are very thankful for everything the Wellington staff have done for our mom.

(One caregiver found my moms leg swollen and it was discovered she had a blod clot.) Had it not been for her looking out and paying attention to the leg change this could have turned into a stroke. I have a good friend whose Grandmother lives at Fauquier Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. My friend is in constantly to visit her Grandmother - and she does volunteer work at Fauquier Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center as well. She volunteered to take me on a tour of the facility. I was astonished at the difference in ambiance. The place felt good - it has a nice vibe to it. And it was clean. The staff are on top of everything. She knew many of the residents and we stopped and chatted with some in the hallway, in the dining room - everyone was so happy here! We visited with her Grandmother for a while and she told me several times how much she likes the place. She commented to me several times that the food is very good. I asked my friend what the response times were on average when a resident pressed the "call" button. She told me around 30 seconds or so. Fauquier Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is fully committed to the Planetree patient-centered care alliance. The other good thing about this facility is how close it is to fauquier hospital, in case something happens. There are different wings depending on need. The rooms are rather small, but do the job. This place is amazing!…read more We needed to move my father into an assisted living facility when his physical and mental health made it hard for my mother to care for him alone at home. A typical nursing home would not have provided the best fit in terms of a living environment for him. My mother had a company help find my dad Golden Years and More. My mom toured other similar facilities but this one stood out from the rest. It wasn't the cheapest or most expensive place, but the "right" place. They also came to my mom's home to assess my dad's condition to make sure he was the right fit for their facility too. There is a family that lives here and cares for up to eight patients. They currently have four, I believe. The family is medically trained and three to four people are there to assist residents 24-7. They cook meals, wash laundry, assist with bathing, provide activities. This family has truly found their calling! When my father needs assistance in the middle of the night, someone is right there for him. At home with my mom he was getting up and falling down - requiring my mom to call the rescue squad to help get him off of the floor. We no longer have that problem. He is cared for by a team - a family! My dad is happy there. He moved in approximately three months ago. My mom is comforted knowing he is there. My sister and I wish he was closer to us but we know he is getting better care than he would at home. His new home is welcoming. I visit weekly and it's always a pleasant visit. Plenty of private parking. Obviously the facility is handicap accessible. Nicely decorated. Private rooms.

Truly, you all are amazing.* -What brought me here. For about 4 months or so when I showered, I would feel this little "ball" above my belly button. My brain didn't want to deal with it, so whenever I showered, I kept pushing it out of my head. Not long ago, on an evening doing my normal mom routine my brain decided it was time to "TAKE CARE OF THIS RIGHT NOW". A million terrible thoughts overcame me and I just sat crying my eyes out thinking that if I felt this "ball" in my breast, I would think it was cancer. I was so stupid to ignore it. Once I got myself together, I did what probably most of us would... I googled that I had a little ball over my belly button. Google said it was an Umbilical Hernia. It described everything I felt and I knew right then, that's what it was. I googled Hernia Specialists in Northern Virginia/Warrenton and Dr. Dougherty's name caught my eye first thing. She had an office in Warrenton! So happy! I called and made an appointment for an Unbilical Hernia at her office. (More on Dr. Dougherty's visit on another "Yelp" page). - Turn around was quick. Surgery is done... I'm on the front end of recovery now...Today was the first day I got to sit up without any help! I've had two C-Sections and it was nothing....nothing like having a hernia. My hernia was in my core muscle. Every and any daily movement I do affects and uses my core. Just like everyone else. Apparently, when I was pregnant with my kids over 12 years ago, it caused strain on my abs and core. They stretched badly. Living alone, and also being a stubborn buthead, I tend to do everything myself. 70 LB aquarium to clean? a 60 LB 1982 game TV to move? I never asked anyone for help. How stupid. So my already strained muscles, which I didn't know about got even worse... and I sitll didn't know..... I quit smoking and started working out...YAY... BUT.... unbnownst to me, I was all ripped up inside. All of my working out and getting fit made my muscles say " I can't do it anymore" ooops. There goes my intestine! slipped right through my muscles! Yep. Gross. Don't be a stubborn buthead like me. ASK FOR HELP!!!! Also, when you feel somehting is wrong...GO CHECK IT OUT!!! Seriously, there were between 10 - 15 names on that paper, of people who worked like a well oiled machine to put me back together. I went in for a mammogram and they did not inform me about the extra facility fee they would charge in advance. Instead, they sent me this large bill afterwards with an extra hospital fee even though I was never hospitalized. When I called their billing department, the reps were rude and very unhelpful. Overall I had a very unpleasant experience with UVA Health system. Their practice is unprofessional and unfair to their patients.

Each member of the nursing team on all shifts took great care of them as they require a great deal of help with all daily living activities to be. I felt there was the right amount of staff for the number of patients (we have been at other rehabs that are over crowded with not enough staff to provide even basic care to everyone).

My fiancé's mother was only supposed to stay here temporarily while her home was fixed up to be safe for her. They had patients take cloths in before they are admitted to be sanitized. I thought that sounded like a good procedure. I was wrong they lost a large amount of her cloths. They must have given them to another patient because she never saw them again. She has called hysterically, crying every day and night. They left her in dirty diapers for 3-4 hours even though she had been asking to be changed. My fiancé had to call and tell them they needed to go change her because she was calling us sayin it was hours and no one would help. Tonight when she called us she had no blanket and was freezing. One night they told her literally " shut up and stop pressing the help button and left her soiled for hours. I was on the phone and heard a lady say "stop yelling shut up and go to bed ,I'm not changing you right now". multiple calls to the managers she finally was changed. I rate this place a negitve 1000. The are rude take no responsibility for their actions, and are horribly unprofessional. I have never been so disgusted in my life. These people are money hungry liars and manipulators that only care about getting patients checks and dismiss all family concerns they are the worst place for you family. If you love them don't ever do this to them please they don't care and aren't compassionate they are terrible terrible people and no one deserves that. The basic human necessities are not even met here. Think twice before you allow your loved ones to go here and if they already do make sure you visit because if not they will neglect your family even more. Simply disgusted. (Update) she was there for five weeks. They are charging for two months because they charge monthly. That is such a scam. Sadly the mother passed away. At least it was in her own home and not left alone for hours on end in her own mess. (Update) I'm still getting bills in my fiancé's name for time his mother was not there. It just reminds me of how awful this place was.
