I consider myself an eyelash psycho. I've done it all - falsies, extensions, mascaras, serums…read more.. you name it, I've tried it. I'm extremely picky about extensions, and know a good place when I try it. Out of all the extension places I've tried (more than a dozen in the GTA), Tokyo Beauty Studio is the ONLY place I've come back to. I've been coming to them for a couple years now; Whenever I go on vacation and don't want to deal with the hassle of falsies/mascara, you can find me here. There are different technicians, but everyone is excellent. They're perfectionists and meticulous. I can tell them what I'm looking for - and they'll definitely deliver. Unlike other eyelash extension places, they always understand what I want before putting lashes on me. Best of all, these lashes LAST. The full look lasts around 3 weeks for me (Which is a miracle. Admittedly I do rub my eyes, use cleansing oil, the whole shebam.) I don't want a "I bought $1 falsies from eBay and stacked them on my eye" look. I want a "damn, she must have some next level genes to have lashes like that" look. Tokyo Beauty Studio absolutely delivers. I would strongly recommend this studio!

The effectiveness of laser hair removal is dependent on your hair follicles. It is effective on…read moresome people, and not on others. Be aware that laser hair removal at ANY place is not guaranteed to be effective. I got a few of large body parts done here for laser hair removal. I was able to see the difference immediately after the first session. After spending over $1,000 a lot of the hair grows back just as thick as it did before and in some places not so much. As for the service: When I come here I feel like I'm getting quality service with integrity, and Hoda is super gentle. Just to give you a heads up this service is set in an unrelated business office. Hoda has two rooms rented out here for her various services. Dont expect a spa setting. However, your skin or hair follicles dont know the difference (about the setting), so it doesnt matter. I would also recommend booking 1 or 2 sessions ahead if possible. I recommend this place.

I bought a service from groupon around October 2014 and Hoda was very accommodating and assured me…read morethat she would still honour my Groupon, despite the stated expiry date. Experience: As a new client of Karisma, I was very impressed with the service that Hoda provided to me. I went in for my first session for laser hair removal on Feb. 14th. I initially was only going in to get my underarms, but thanks to Hoda, I ended up doing all three small areas. The procedure only took 30 min. and that is for three areas. Hoda started with the paper work or admin. stuff and walked me through how we would proceed and she also took the time to explain her machines. Her newest machine is impeccable. It's performance is amazing, I barely felt anything except for a warm glaze of heat. We started my first session at a higher setting and my skin was fine, where we didn't see any inflammation or red skin. Hoda was very pleasant to work with; she approached my appointment in a professional and friendly manner. She offers many other services, in which I cannot wait to try, like photofacials. As a side note, just in case you forgot to shave a certain area or two, Hoda does offer to shave off the hair on those areas to treat. Razors are clean and disposable. Price: The cost of her services are manageable and much more affordable than other like competitors that offer similar services, such as laser hair removal. Aside from Groupon, she openly offers the same promotion in her clinic. I have three small areas to be treated by Hoda. During your appointment, you can either bring a print version of your groupon or present it from your phone, where she can scan the barcode. Please keep in mind that you have to pay for taxes during your visit. Don't forget to tip!* Location: Karisma MediSpa is located near McCowan/Ellesmere; minutes away from Scarborough Town Centre and the McCowan RT station. During weekends, there are certain procedures to enter the building, and that information can be obtained from Hoda. It's very easy finding the building; it is on the North side of St. Louis Bar and Grill. The clinic is located on the 7th floor. If you are taking the TTC; you can either exit from the mall from the Cineplex side and walk past the YMCA (3min) or exit from the McCowan RT station (3-4min). Verdict: Whether it's your first time getting laser hair removal or you're an avid experienced user, I highly recommend going to Hoda at Karisma. She's very gentle, knowledgeable, and friendly. Her machine is so impressive and you can barely feel anything, well at least for me. I cannot wait to go back for my next few sessions and see more results!

No instructions were said, we were expected to know what to do and change. She did not introduced herself nor say what she was about to do or put on me, in terms of massage oil or cream. She massaged me very quickly like she was in a rush and did not use any effort at all. My friend went with me in the same room and felt the same too. After the massage, they disappeared and never appeared again as if they were in a hurry. I would strongly not recommend this spa place! Even though it is a deal, I feel that I would want a refund.

Follow Yelpers please let me provide this disclaimer before hand:…read more I do not go to massage places often this was my experience today with no bias as I haven't read any previous reviews...yet. My lovely wife decided that she wanted to do a couples massage and was recommended by a friend to go here for the 'inexpensive' cost. Additionally as our workplaces cover the total cost of a RMT licensed massage; based on her friends recommendation of we decided to go. As far as environment and ambiance not a ton of bells and whistles here. There is a nail salon set up in the front along with a couple of hooks to hang up your jacket but I wouldn't hang my jacket up there as it's by the door and would be easily stolen. A person who appeared to work there seemed to be hanging around and didn't look up when we entered the store. Someone else ran in frantically within a few minutes and asked who we were and if we had an appointment (we did). After a 5 step walk to a room we were advised to change and lie on the tables. Two massage therapists proceeded to walk in promptly and asked what we wanted to have done as this business gives you the option to change what you originally had booked. Wife had aromatherapy and I selected a full body massage which I would later regret. We were both asked if there were areas that we needed to be focused on I said right side of my back and my wife said lower back. Can I let you know that neither therapist focused on the areas requested? Then began probably the more interesting 60 min of my life... The massage therapist proceeded to pull my boxers down lower to the point where my bare behind was exposed. Having had a couple massages in my lifetime previously I wasn't sure if this this was a bit out of the norm however I figured this was just to get to my lower back. I quickly found out that wasn't a case. I attempted several times to pull up my boxers up and the therapist wasn't taking the non-verbal hint. The only reason I didn't make up a fuss was due to the shock of it all. After 20 minutes of a very interesting..butt massage the rest of the massage went decently...except the part where her knee was massaging my head and her fingers were in my ears massaging my temples (It just didn't seem normal to me) The warm towel to wipe away the oils used were decent, nothing spectacular. HOWEVER when it was over and put back on my clothes I felt like I was walking on clouds Thus I felt so conflicted: the way the massage was preformed left me feeling great however the techniques used were so questionable. Side note it was 80 dollars for the hour per person without a groupon but this may be holiday pricing Conclusively I can't say I would go back on my own just because of how I felt from a comfort standpoint BUT if I was in a pinch and in discomfort I would grin my teeth and bare it, as its 110 dollars less than most places downtown. Personally I would rate this place 2.5 stars outta 5 BUT #yelp doesn't allow for half marks sadly. I don't think this place is as bad as the 1 star rating I saw on the page but this is still no #ElmwoodSpa which is my top end standard of massage parlors I've attended
