They were incredibly helpful to fit me in for an urgent appointment after I lost my flipper that I have for a missing front tooth. I called in the day of and got an apt 45 minutes later. I've never been somewhere that makes your retainer / flipper the day of. It's so helpful, spared me a week of embarrassment of having no front tooth! Generally it takes atleast 1 week minimum to get a replacement flipper. read more

I regret I went there. My insurance is in network and covers 100% of semi annual check ups but I was always billed $65-70(is this legal?). I didn't know much back then and paid for whatever they charged me for several years until I realize I should stop going there. I take care of my teeth good and floss at night but the dentists always tried to find "cavity" on xray. Dr Andrew? Asian male dentist found a "cavity" on my front tooth and did a root-canal. After the treatment my front tooth became soo sensitive he had to fix it three times. At Another visit and an unfriendly asian female doctor told me I have "a cavity "on different front tooth and asked me when i wanna book without asking me if I wanna do it. That's when I realized that they cared about money more than patients. I went to a different dentist who doesn't charge me extra for check ups(cleaning, xray, exam). he said the root canal wasn't done well and might need a redo, also wondered why Dr andrew chose to do the filling on my front tooth which he thinks its a weird place for a cavity. I have been a patient of Dr. Shirzadnia and his assistant George for years. I love those two and this place because it's a major clinic. My last dentist sent me to a 5th Avenue oral surgeon to have an extraction. Herald Square does extractions and more. Every experience at Herald Square has been excellent from the front desk to the hygienists. It's one stop shopping. They have their own lab for dentures, etc. Shirzadnia talked me into getting implants to finally get rid of years of dentures and partials and he was right. I've had these implants for years with never any trouble. The doctor is a well trained, knowledgeable, efficient doctor with years of experience and a great chair side manner. Dr. Yam placed an implant for my missing tooth today. I was super nervous, so I opted for the nitrous oxide inhalation mask and was able to wear my earbuds to distract myself. His assistant Amer kept me calm and patiently answered my 500 questions, and the actual surgery was so fast! Felt like 5 minutes. They showed me the radiographs immediately after, which was super interesting! So far I've had hardly any discomfort, and would recommend this practice and especially Dr. Yam to anyone who is a wimp like me! Scheduling through their website is very easy, you get free consultations (several other offices charge more than $200 just to get an estimate!) the office is beautiful with giant windows and 16th floor views, front desk is lovely and efficient. My boyfriend had a beautiful and comfortable same-day denture made by Dr. Yam a few months ago, which was such an improvement over the terrible one we had paid twice as much for at another facility. Pricing is very competitive and clearly itemized (this was impossible to procure at many other practices.) They do not participate with my Metroplus/Dentaquest insurance, but I've learned that the good dentists don't. My husband and I have been going to Herald Square since 2017. The first few years, things worked smoothly and we were happy. Since the pandemic, we started noticing changes and sketchy things. First, they started pushing us to get more stuff done to our teeth. We followed the recommendations, but then realized it was strange that all of these were coming after the pandemic after dental offices were hurt. By the way, we were more diligent with our cleaning given that we were working from home and brushed our teeth more frequently. My husband got a filling to replace an old one that resulted in pain for months (it wasn't done properly). Then, we started realizing that the billing changed as well. One day, my husband went to his cleaning appointment a few hours before me. He was charged for some of the services provided. I received the same exact services and wasn't charged as it was covered by my insurance. Before leaving the office, I pulled our insurance information and asked why we were charged differently if we have the same insurance. The office apologized and told me they would look into it. Indeed, he was charged incorrectly. Since that visit with the discrepancy, we have been paying careful attention to the information provided by the assistance, hygienist, and dentist. Every time, we have been told that our insurance covers most things that are offered to us. In fact, the assistant typically goes and checks the insurance before the x-rays are done and such. Despite being told that they are covered, we then get a bill saying we owe money. I have been complaining about this since the first mismatch, but there is not a proper response. Thus, we are not going back to Herald Square again. It seems clear to me that their objective is to prescribe as many things to charge the insurance. Stay away from this place. read more

While normally getting a pair of dentures can take at minimum 6-8 weeks, at the denture center they can make them in one day! Amazing! You certainly pay for this convenience but hey is worth it to be able to have teeth if you don't have them. My mother was in the hospital and they tossed out her dentures... poor lady. Luckily I found this place. But beware it's a all day event and a lengthy, messy process where they make your gum mold, then your bite mold, then your teeth on wax mold, and finally the last bit. we were there from 9 am to 5pm. Luckily they have a nice big waiting room with two big bathrooms available and can accommodate handicap individuals with wheel chairs. They also have water available to drink. Dr Pasch was very friendly, and professional. He was helpfully all through the process. I asked about dentures they can't go in one day and he said some partials if they have wires they would need to be sent out. I appreciate that he called in the evening too to check on how my mom was handling her new dentures! He gave her a brush some cleaning tablets and a container for them as well. The office is on the 16 th floor and the view from the Windows is really nice too. I would definitely recommend if you need full dentures in a hurry!! read more

It is an amazing dental office! I could not recommended enough about this place to people I know. Especially during Covid-19-They are taking extra precautions for patients safety and I really appreciated that. They offer same day dentures and pretty much general dentistry procedures here like fillings, prophy, extraction.,etc. So far, I have seen Dr. Pasch, Dr. Yam and Dr. Xu and They are very experienced and very good at what they do plus they are so nice! Receptionist called me saying she needs to move my appointment to another day - which is fine, I understand emergencies happen. The attitude is what I was shocked by - I explained my availability and she gives me a day and time that does not work. I explained to her again and again what works - she proceeds interrupting and talking over me and talking to me as if I'm a child. I asked her to cancel my appointment altogether and she replied "fine!!!" and hung up. Hope Dr Krahn is going to read this and make sure her office associates are trained properly as I'm sure she does not want prospective patients to feel the way I felt. read more

This was my first time going to this office and it was a great experience. It's conveniently located in midtown across the street from the Macy's store and the office was clean and the co workers were super professional. Had a basic teeth cleaning that was one of the cheaper options I've looked into within the 5 mile radius of Times Square. My only concern if any was the timing duration of the cleaning. It was around 20 - 25 mins which I think it's a wee-bit short but they got most of my problems rectified although they've suggested a deeper cleaning in the future. The purpose of my review of Dr Pasch of Herald Square Dental is to provide an objective summary of my experience and serve as a cautionary tale! one visit was during the earlier COVID-19 days I arrived to view a fairly crowded room! I was uneasy but stayed! My initial impression of Dr Pasch was of a rather innocuous man with a superficially constrained affability he reminded me of a traveling salesman ready to sell his snake oil cure! Forgive my subjectivity from the start he told me half truths I'd asked for a non adhesive upper denture was presented with the opposite I asked why he continued on without first consulting me his response was absurd finally he revealed the technician found my mouth to be too small!? Really! The choice option was unilaterally removed Dr Pasch asserted his authority his mantra became he knew what was best! Even when I asked for adjustments to secure a better fit & comfort this option was interpreted as my being a difficult patient I alone was the cause of the ill fitted denture, in a scathing reprehensible voice he again shamed & frightened me! He forcefully told me of his other clients they pay try denture out & they quietly leave! Of course with retrospect I do finally get it! Herald Square Dental is a mass production business churning out high volumes of generic crudely constructed products there is and one should not expect a normative communication between patient & Dentist! Each of my appointments became a true test of courage for me hoping not to be the recipient of his angry abusive verbally hateful remarks he is one of the most calculated liars & is uncontrollably pompous person! My grandma needed an upper denture replacement, Dr. Yam did a thorough examination on her, and explained all the options we have along with the costs. We decided to get her a brand new upper denture, and it was completed on the same day after a few hours. Dr. Yam was very patient throughout the whole process. Don't let the possibility of the name "denture" in the company name discourage you. Paula is the best and truly deserves 5 stars. Paula is knowledgeable, personable and caring. She always gives the best recommendations regarding oral care and takes the time to answer any questions. She will also demonstrate proper brushing and flossing with a teeth model every time I come. I've been seeing Doctor Song for almost a year and have been so happy with the results. He talks me through everything he is doing and explains my x-rays in great detail. Never had a dentist do that before and I learned so much. It's a great opportunity because it lead me to ask better questions and voice any concerns I might have had. Any fear I had about going to the dentist doesn't exist anymore. I do have insurance and Dr. Song took the time to walk me through my insurance and explain what was covered, how much was covered and create a plan to maximize the benefit I could get from my insurance carrier. Great experience with the dentist which is how it should be! My only complaint is that the front desk can be a bit frazzled. My chart wasn't correctly updated and I had to explain to the dental assistant what I was there for as she had me down for the wrong procedure. Another time they forgot about my insurance plan's annual maximum and if I didn't remind them I would have underpaid for my procedure resulting in a balance on my account. My advice is be very clear and communicate with the staff. Don't be afraid to speak up and ask questions. Dr. Song gets 5 stars! Front desk/staff gets a solid 3 stars! read more

Please Consider This A Public Service Announcement (as it was intended) I will spare you the details but suffice to say that after commuting to this facility from well into suburban N.J. for the previous seven years, bringing friends, and being a one man cheerleading squad to business associates I was recently terribly disappointed. The recent dentistry was adequate albeit about twice the cost that I had anticipated. A minor procedure resulted in a $370. bill. Rather than take it up with the office staff, I requested a returned call from the principle, Dr. Pasch, what I got in return was a churlish young lady with an thick accent refuting and denying my claim, (which I knew from the beginning would be the outcome by her tone), without listening to my concerns. He is so wonderful to work with and always answers all of my questions and spends as much time as necessary with me.
