I had a roof replacement, shake underneath a Cal metal roof so basically 2 roofs removed. Efren R. recommend a CertainTeed energy star roof. Back in October 2020 I had new roof put on. I waited until now for my review thinking this roof wasn't going to cool my house being my upstairs would get so hot in summer. I can honestly say I'm so impressed how cool my upstairs is with this roof with temperatures outside reaching as hi as 115* my a/c broke down just had ceiling fans on and was 85* inside. Henry roofing is a joke. The quality of their work is horrible and their follow up repairs is even worse. My roof still leaks. One time the owner came to look at the leaks on the new roof his crew put on and thought nothing was wrong. There is stains on the ceiling with water damage, ruined expensive dining room table, a shorted light above it. And the list goes on. I am so impressed with Henry Roofing. Honesty, integrity and great service. In the past we have used them on several houses, always a great turnout. Recently, my parent's roof had a small leak (Henry Roofing did not do the original roof). My husband called them to come out and take a look at their roof since we trust their opinion and work. Tim Henry and his wife will get back to you if they don't pick up just leave them a message. Tim came to my house to show me different types of shingles, and then gave me a brochure to choose from. It takes 3 days to complete. First day they took off the old shingles, and fix some dry rot if necessary that's additional cost for that. Second day they brought the material, and put on the roof. Third day after the installation, they painted all the vents for you, and finished the same day. read more

On one of my neighbor's recommendation (I wish I had checked here first! Sheesh!!), I asked Henry Roofing to replace the gutters on my home and shed before the big rains started this last season as they were pretty much shot and some where even rusted through from the inside as the previous roofing company (done by the previous owner) put the low side of the gutters on the opposite side of the downspout in a couple of places! Apparently my house has a problem with roofing companies! We agreed on a price and that the work would be done in 2 weeks. The day arrived, I left the gate unlocked for them to have easy access and left for work. I came home and the gutters on the house were mostly done. However there were holes left everywhere from the old brackets, 2 spouts partially miss the drain they were aimed at, the cable for my satellite dish was flapping in the wind, some flashing with untucked, the shed hadn't been touched and nor was the sunroom. It looked to me that they weren't done so I waited. 2 weeks later I got an invoice so I called them and got the voicemail. To their credit, they did return this call. The lady I spoke with said don't worry about the payment until the job is done. Here's where it starts going south... A few days later, I came home to find they apparently jumped the fence to get into my back yard which is by no means a good thing to do. They reattached the satellite cable and did the gutters on the shed, but left a HUGE amount of mess lying around including nails and rusted metal chunks. Probably a good thing I don't have small children. They left the flashing, gutters/downspouts on the sunroom and they didn't fill any of the holes they left in the exterior walls. At this point I'm getting aggravated and I don't really want them to come back because, well, they obviously have no attention for detail, even the obvious ones that hit you over the head with a club so I call and leave a message telling them of the above issues, that I would rather not have them come back and that I would like to see some relief on the invoice. No return call, just another invoice, which got another call... this happened a total of 3 times. I finally opted to go ahead and pay it to avoid any type of legal action they might have against my property but enclosed a letter explaining my position for the final time and that I would like a portion of a refund as I have had to do a portion of the work contracted. The only response was that they deposited my check. Hopefully the BBB will be able to help (HA! like that will happen) as I'd rather not have to resort to small claims and include my time in my suit but this is becoming a matter of principle at this point. They didn't complete the job and what they did do was somewhat shoddy plus they have pretty much NO customer service. Apparently there's a bit of an ostrich syndrome going on where if you don't see it, it doesn't matter or didn't happen. read more

I needed a replacement roof on a house and garage. The owner helped me choose the color and roofing materials which turned out to be perfect with color of the house & trim. Henry Roofing workers kept me informed throughout the process. They found some dry rot and with my approval did the necessary repairs. They also replaced the old gutters with new ones that perfectly matched the trim. They were very careful at all times and at the end of each day they cleaned the area surrounding the house and garage. When the inspector came, he said they do everything right! Wow! We needed a whole new roof, and I can't have been more pleased with the work Henry Roofing did for us. I have to admit I was skeptical. First of all, they don't have any reviews here. Secondly, their prices were ridiculously low. I mean lower than ANYONE else by a long shot. Furthermore, they agreed to do the job in 2 days, which is half as long as my other 5 estimates. Who were these people, making promises and quoting low? But after doing my due diligence (checking with the BBB and ensuring their license was valid and current) I decided to take a chance on a small community owned business. Best decision ever. Not only did they complete in less than 2 days. Not only were there no hidden exorbitant fees. Not only did they clean up and complete the job in a professional manner. But the end result: Gorgeous. We haven't had a big enough rain for me to test it properly, and when we do, if there is a problem I will be sure to update (i.e. if you don't see an update then they did a great job). I'm so surprised that there are no reviews of this place here yet. Perhaps they don't serve yelpers, but if you live in the bay area, I suggest you hire them. Finally, a new roof! I was a little skeptical about getting my roof done at the beginning of 2019 because of all the rain...but I really needed the roof fixed. I didn't do all the heavy research to find a roofing business so i went with ratings and reviews on one business and so i called Henrys Roofing and Efren came over to give me a quote. We introduced ourselves and i basically told him what i needed to have accomplished, he showed me his samples of comp roofing materials, i made my selection, set up a month-day-time and just waited. A week out from the scheduled date the weather was not going to work with us and a storm was ready to make an impact. Efren called me and asked if he and his team can come before the rain...again feeling skeptical about the timing, i asked for reassurance "can you complete this project before the heavy rain arrives?" And with confidence he replied "yes, we can complete the roof before the rain!"...sure enough the roof was completed in 2 1/2 days. The rain arrived and pounded the roof!...and best of all NO LEAKS. These guys (7 of them) moved quick and efficiently on removal and replaced alot of wood due to dryrot but also keeping the surroundings clean from debris especially the nails. Overall, no special sales pitch, all straight responses, great effort, they cleaned up after each day and were fair priced. My roof will look great for the next 20yrs easy (or at least in the remainder of my lifetime). read more

I had Henry Roofing company do my roof when I lived in Vallejo. Even to this day when I pass by my old home it still looks amazing. That was roughly about 12 to 13 years ago when they were a friendly company! I now have another home and need a new roof so the first company I thought of was Henry Roofing in Vallejo, especially since they did such a great job the first time. I called and thought I was going to get the same friendly service on the phone, NOT!!! After calling three times on different days, I finally got the wife on the phone. I had a few questions about different material of which I could tell she was either uneducated about or just did not feel like being bothered with answering. She was rude and made me feel like I was interrupting her from watching her soaps or doing some crafts. I brushed off her mood and gave her the benefit of the doubt. I made an appointment for them to come to my house for a roof estimate. Maybe I am impatient but after I did not receive an email back in writing of the estimate after a week, I thought I would call week two. I called and got no answer just a voice mail as usual, so I left a message but got no call back. The next day I decided to send an email and received a response quite quickly and was told that they work on a very limited office staff and an estimate would arrive to me in a week or so. Now the roof is not large at all and it is flat. This was a quote for a torch down roof an older roofing material but still rather reliable if it is installed correctly. I was shocked at the estimate. I thought I was reading the numbers wrong. $14,000 with a 10% discount = 12,600 for tear off only and haul away with permit and to replace the roof $6000 with a 10% discount = new roof $5400 for a Total of $18,000! Now I had a received a few other bids and the other bids where half the price for tear off and replace of new roof with permits! What the heck! Maybe if the wife was not so rude, I would have just ate the cost since Henry's did a great job on my old house 12 years ago. But Pattie Henry's attitude was a total turn off and I think they are overpriced compared to other licensed roofing companies offering the same thing for half the price! Not to mention, I still have not had the opportunity to even talk to the professional roofer at Henry's to address my questions of which I told Pattie. Henry's Roofing in Vallejo, you've gone down! Instead of scheduling someone to come out later and seal the cracks, he just did it himself while he was there. He also advised that if it didn't hold, what they would come out and do to repair it and gave us an estimate. He refused to take any money for the sealing he did. this company did the roof on my grandmothers house. came highly recommended...but the quality of the roof and workmanship are absolute garbage. they filled up the furnace with debris which had to be cleaned out. good thing we had it checked or a fire would have happened, the gutters are crooked and dont slope towards the down spouts, the downspouts are put where they will flood sections of the backyard. after spending 20k on her roof my grandmother Joy Henslin cant even get anyone to come out or call her back.....do yourself a favor and do not use this company they take advantage of older people read more

The guys from Henry cancelled an estimate, showed up late after we rescheduled, and left nails and debris in our driveway and yard. So why am I giving them four stars? Well, they did a full tear off and re-roof in two days, replaced our roof for about 2/3 the cost of the next lowest estimate we got, and we weathered two of the biggest storms of the year without a leak. They also addressed all of my questions, concerns, and even corrected my bill after discovering they had overcharged me. An honest contractor is nothing to sneeze at. Some of the flashing details aren't the prettiest, but I'm picky about that kind of stuff, and again - nothing is leaking. If you're willing to deal with some less-than-ideal communication, Henry does do a good job for an unbeatable price. I would recommend them to anyone with the qualifications stated above. read more

On a recommendation, I called Henry Roofing to come out and give me an estimate to fix some tiles on my roof. "Henry" did just that and recommended that the Valley's on the roof where moss had collected be cleaned and that his service could do that at the time they are repairing/replacing broken roof tiles. We set an appt for his team to come do that and they were a No Show. I followed up with a call to reschedule and left a detailed voicemail which was never returned. This is my first ever yelp review. Normally I would not care but after seeing some of the negative reviews of what seems like some impatient people, I wanted to step in with my good one. My pop used them a little over 10 years ago and had a good experience so I decided to check them out. After my roof inspection he gave me a time frame to start the project. I let him know that I was about to loose homeowners insurance and he made an accommodation to move up the start date. I also work 12 hr night shifts and he was able to schedule for my days off. The project was completed quickly. The crew was nice and willing to put up with me asking questions. Everything was cleaned up well if not better than they found it. Even with some rot damage that was replaced the cost was pretty spot on to my estimate. The estimate itself was about 1.5 - 2 k lower than a couple of other quotes I had from other companies. read more

Henry roofing just completed our re-roof. It was a larger job as they had to remove my old metal Decra Tile roof which was on top of the original shake roof and installed sheathing over the entire roof. They also repaired quite of bit of dry rot and installed a solar tube. Efren their estimator / job coordinator was very responsive and always answered our questions promptly and throughly. They worked with me so I could paint facias etc before installation. They worked through minor supply issues and glitches professionally. Owner Tim Henry paid a job site visit to ask how they were doing and to just check in. Work crews were prompt and professional and cleaned up the entire area daily. Given current conditions for lumber supplies and costs along with pandemic conditions they were satisfactorily on schedule with no big surprises to budget. I'm buying a house in Vallejo and my agent recently ordered roof inspection from this company. As opposed to property inspection from another contractor (which provided a highly detailed report with tons of suggestions) "Henry roofing" returned emailed report in 3 lines: roof needs to be cleaned from debris, there are 3 cracked tiles found, and estimation is $680 for repair. All of our further requests to clarify "3 cracked tiles" location or any more details, are going nowhere, nobody responds just like you can see from other reviews on Yelp. Thus, I would avoid this company at any cost. Zero customer service. read more

I'm giving them a 3 out of 5 because of their terrible customer service. My roof and down spouts turned out beautifully but these people don't know how to return a phone call! We were supposed to get our roof done on a Tuesday and we called them the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday before and they didn't call us back until Monday to let us know that it wasn't going to happen on Tuesday but rather later in the week. On top of that my garage and attic were a horrible mess after they left. And they said they told me beforehand to cover stuff - lies!!
