We looked up hospitals, because urgent cares weee all close around 6 pm at night. They had good reviews and it was a great experience for a stressful situation. This place was fast and we appreciated the total of 1:30hr emergency room turnaround in and out with a glued cut and a smiling face! Recommended this hospital for a crummy situation.

There were a few individuals who really stood out as going above and beyond. I would like to share the ways they helped to make my hospital stay more comfortable. There were several individuals in and out of my room to clean. All were friendly and did a wipe down of some surfaces, swept and emptied trash bins. There was one young lady named Arin however who disinfected every surface in the room. She wiped down the chairs, doorknobs, bedside table and every other exposed surface, and did all her cleaning in a timely manner. I was very impressed with her thoroughness. She made me feel that the room was really well sanitized. Marcia and Bree were two nursing techs who stood out above the rest. They seemed to know and respond to what I needed before I knew myself. They were so on top of things, always making sure my water cup was filled, I had what I needed for hygiene and comfort, communicating my thoughts, questions and concerns to the nurses and the doctor, and striving to provide a level of comfort that is difficult to find as a hospital patient. I found the respiratory staff to be among the finest that have cared for me. I have chronic respiratory issues and have stayed in other hospital facilities over the past several years, but Alicia, Dan and Garrett really stood out. My first night was difficult as I couldn't catch my breath and the oxygen tube to my nose did not seem to help. I can't remember at this time what it was called, but Dan set me up with a mask system that included moisture and pulled air in from the room as well as providing the doctor's recommended level of oxygen. I was finally able to breathe with this, which was not only a great relief physically, but also calmed my nerves so that I could rest. One thing that stood out was that while he worked with me, he explained everything he was doing and how it should work, keeping my mind occupied. This comforted me (no matter how many times I go through it, it is still very scary not to be able to breathe without fighting for each breath) and calmed both my respiration and my emotions. When I was able, he introduced me to exercises to open and strengthen my lungs. As he did this he made sure that my thoughts and feelings were heard and validated. Alicia's manner was similar and each time she worked with me she also was able to put me at ease with her calm, engaging way of providing information about what was going on with my breathing and oxygen levels. Her nurturing manner cultivated a level of comfort that, again, was so welcome in the hospital setting. Garrett first helped out in the ER, and I was impressed with his precision when he tested my level of blood gasses. His focus and ability to hit just the right spot made for a pain free experience. All of the respiratory staff did good work as they took me through my breathing treatments and exercises, but these three really stood out to me as demonstrating excellence. I found the nursing staff to be top notch, and all were knowledgeable, caring and efficient. Yet Mariah sticks with me as being extra attentive and compassionate. When dealing with other issues on the floor she made sure that I was informed by other staff members if there would be any delays or changes in my care. With her, I felt that I was on top of what was happening in my day-to-day routine as an inpatient. It was obvious that all of the folks mentioned above take their positions very seriously and are dedicated to going over and above to care for others. As I said before, everyone I encountered on the Cameron staff was wonderful. I just wanted to make it known that the ones mentioned above really stand out and rank above excellent. Sincerely, Tamra Lauer

X-rays of my neck and shoulder showed an issue at C5/C6. I originally scheduled an appointment with Fulton County Orthopedic Surgeons. From the moment I arrived, I felt completely dismissed. I stood at the check-in window for over four minutes while the employee behind the glass looked up at me multiple times and did not acknowledge me. I attempted to find assistance elsewhere and was directed right back to the same window, where I was again ignored for several more minutes before she finally asked if she could help. I eventually saw a nurse practitioner who immediately dismissed my shoulder as a possible source of pain and decided it was "definitely" my neck based solely on the X-rays. When I suggested that an MRI of both the shoulder and cervical spine would be the appropriate way to confirm the source of the pain, she claimed that my insurance would only cover imaging for one area and that If they asked her she would tell them to image the neck. I have good insurance and found it inappropriate for a nurse practitioner to make assumptions about my coverage while also attempting to limit diagnostic evaluation. When I stated that I would be upset if only my neck were imaged without fully ruling out the shoulder, it became clear that my concerns were not being taken seriously. If I could leave a negative amount of stars I would! By the end of the visit, I had lost all confidence in the care being provided and chose to seek treatment elsewhere. I later scheduled with Mercy Orthopedic Surgeons instead

She assisted us immediately. Thank you to Dr Taylor for his compassion and professionalism and quick response to my husband's problems. We felt reassured speaking with him. Another thank you to Haylee in ER who went above and beyond in her kindness shown. I wish I had all the nursing staff names since they were absolutely exceptional and comforting during that time spent in the ER. I noticed too the cleanliness and attentiveness of everyone in the ER. I am thankful that FCHC is part of our local caring medical community.

I will honestly NEVER go into this Hospital for ANYTHING including a Bandaid! I have know for…read moreyears the care here is NO- CARE at all! On 01/12/2020 at 330 pm I took my husband to the ER as he was in Severe pain and thought he might have cracked a rib . We were triaged quickly telling them he HEARD a pop when he coughed and all needed info. They took him into one room, left us, came and took him into another room for who knows what reason. As he could barely move , this was painful! They got him quickly for ex-rays and then..... the wait began. After some time they came and told us they had to send the ex-rays to St Joe"s to be read and they had problems getting them! Are you serious?? It was 330 in the afternoon and NOONE could read ex-rays in the hospital. This is not Little House on the Prairie folks. So we wait, all the meanwhile my husband cannot stand straight, bend, lie down, sit down, kneel, etc without screaming in pain. NEVER DID ONE person come in and TOUCH HIM- ask questions, evaluate the area, have him move his shirt, watch his motion. NOTHING! I mean ZERO! Is it bruised? NO one asked? Where exactly is the pain? NOPE, NOTHING was asked! We told them in triage he HEARD a POP! Finally at about 630 they came in and said , no broken bones, Muscle spasm- Ice it , flexerill, ibuprophen. I questioned them. They knew I was Not buying it! I explained the pain was unbearable and he could not WORK. They did not give him a work note either. The meds given gave him ZERO relief- NONE, Nada, Zero, Zilch. He screamed all night. He could not get in the bed, lay down, lay back, Sleep. Monday morning we went to his Pa- c in Tecumseh where in 5 minutes he was told he most likely had a hairline fracture of his rib and they do not all show on ex-rays. She simply TOUCHED his side, and looked and did what a DR does in a painful injury. She gave him stronger meds , detailed instructions and he is now resting comfortably. This ER is A joke! It is no wonder it is commonly called a bandaid station. They stand and chit chat, gossip about patients, read their texts and phones when one even TOLD me when I asked him a ? and apologized for bothering him that he wasn't supposed to be using his phone anyhow!! Seriously? When you need HELP, there is NO feeling you will be HELPED here! He screamed for 8 hours after this visit. I have a video of him. Hire BETTER People and PAY them and they might care enough to work but This "hospital " is NOT and never will be a good hospital even if they are building a new one!!!! New building- same idiots. D.
