During my appointment with Dr. Henke, he told me that surgery would be needed for my broken ankle. He also started to talk to me about taking vitamins regularly, which seemed odd and unrelated until he mentioned that his wife sells Advocare (expensive supplements sold in a pyramid scheme format). Dr. Henke then tried to get me to purchase Advocare from his wife (who is not in the medical field) and gave me all of her information. The night before my surgery I just started to feel nervous about it, so I canceled and got three other opinions from orthopedic doctors who all said that the only reason I would need surgery was if my bones were not aligned, which they are. Therefore, the surgery was not necessary. Overall, he was very nice during my visit, but the whole experience made me feel a little taken advantage of and mistrusting of him and his practice. read more

I would give negative five stars if I could. This doctor has been discriminatory to my special needs child. He refused to perform a needed procedure in a medical facility he has rights to perform in because she "should be able to have it done in the office." His office staff is the most unprofessional staff I have EVER had the displeasure of doing business with in any medical professional capacity for my kid. Dr. Henke himself was rude, condescending, and treated my child poorly. Despite our initial distaste for him personally, we chose to continue scheduling a needed procedure because my kid was in pain. How wrong were we!?! His staff called to tell us Dr. Henke would ONLY perform the procedure on the 2nd floor despite it not being covered by our insurance because he refused to go to Seton (even though he has the ability) because my kid should be able to do the procedure in the office. I had already disclosed to him in great detail the reasons she was not able (and I am not listing here in order to maintain privacy) and I would be happy to provide whatever documentation necessary to convince him of her legitimate need, and ensure insurance coverage. Luckily, I record every call that comes into/out of my phone and have record of this because we will be following up with an Office of Civil Rights/ADA complaint. Alicia later called me and assured me she had in fact secured coverage on the 2nd floor and we were fine to proceed with having it done there. Well, Alicia is AWFUL. Think trying to do business with a teen valley girl with a wad of gum in her mouth the whole time you are talking. Coverage was not secured and the day before we were scheduled we received a call that WE would need to obtain a single case agreement and our insurance would not let their office obtain this. (Funny, other offices have obtained their own single case agreement. Thank you, Sage Recovery for your professionalism!) Single case agreement can only be obtained if there is a network deficiency. There is no deficiency here. Just a doctor who refuses to provide services to children with special needs because he himself has determined they "should be able to have it done in office bc it is such a small procedure." After all that, they offer to reschedule at Seton after all. At this point, no thanks! We have found a reasonable, compassionate, and professional podiatry office with Dr. Golf, who even though he performs minor procedures in a surgery center, is happy to go to Seton Southwest since it is in network, and has treated my kid and me with the utmost dignity and respect. read more

I am very disappointed in Dr. Henke. I had a painful planters wart on my heel (that I think I got from the YMCA). Something had to be done. So I found Dr. Henke on the Internet and made an appointment. He treated it and said it MAY need treated one more time. He wanted me to come back in 2 weeks to check on it. I have no insurance but I decided to listen and do the 2 week check. Came back for the check up and he treated them again. By this time I have over 300$ on this one freaking wart. This keeps going on and on. The 3rd time I see him he gives me a roll on prescription that was also 68$. That didn't work either. So lets just say that I gave them a little over 500$ for this stupid wart on my heel. And it's better, but still there!! I called them to see if he could just finally take care of it and be done with whole thing. Just to make me a happy meatiest and fix this. Make me happy. Not at all. The front desk lady who I talked to was very rude. She didn't understand my situation and was unwilling todo anything to make this right. I have no insurance. Dr. Henke and his staff just want your money. They want to see you at least 5 times to take your money. AND still have the same issue that never even got fixed. My advice, pick another foot doctor because this one doesn't know what he is doing. read more

Do not go to this guy! My wife went to him and he botched her surgery! Her foot was worse than when she went in. We continued to try to get him to correct the problems and he simply told us there was "nothing wrong" (!) She was in excruciating pain and regretted ever having him touch her foot and he said "nothing's wrong"... ??? We then went to an expert and he confirmed Henke botched the surgery. We had another surgery done to fix his mistakes and her foot is now 98% fixed. It's only 98% because of the difficulty in undoing the damage that Henke did. If you need foot surgery, go to Dr. Charles Hubbard in Austin. He knows what he's doing. read more

I ran across Dr. Henke by "accident" and found him to be extremely caring and thoughtful but with a great bedside manner. He treated my complex fracture with expertise and although it has been a long healing process, I feel I have been cared for by the very best. Kudos to the great office staff and nurse who also have always been so kind and thorough. read more

I've had several great experiences with this office. My daughter has been in twice with ingrown toenails and she received excellent care. Dr. Henke did a great job explaining what was happening so that a child could feel informed. I also saw him for my own foot pain and found him to be very knowledgeable and realistic in his solutions and expected outcomes. read more

$450 dollars for a half hours worth of "work" that DID NOT WORK! My son had two plantar warts. They were relatively small and not painful, but he's a soccer player so I wanted to take care of them before they got worse. Dr. Henke was personable enough. Total time in exam room to include a visual, check that they were indeed warts, and a couple dabs of the freeze solution was about 15 minutes. I paid $200 and change out of pocket. Follow up appointment took 10 minutes for Dr. Henke to decide warts looked on way to healing. I paid an additional $70. Insurance paid $125. Just got a bill for additional $60. I'd be far less ticked off if my money had actually gotten rid of the warts. Not only are they still there, at this point they're much bigger than they were. What's wrong with healthcare in America? This is precisely what's wrong. $450 is what they got for a half hour and treatment that did not even work. read more

I saw Dr. Henke about 18 months ago for pain in my metatarsal area. He showed me the x-rays indicating I have no cartilage left and explained 3 options ranging from better shoes (i.e. $45 tennis shoes and no more flip-flops) and an anti-inflammatory cream to 2 different types of surgery. He didn't push me one way or the other. Being cheap, I opted for better shoes, to start with. That worked fine for over a year, but it finally became so painful that I went back in and learned about the other options. I chose to have the surgery. It went very smoothly and I healed great until 7 weeks after the surgery, it started hurting and x-rays revealed the implant (screw that gives me "wiggle room" with my big toe) had failed and was working its way out of the bone. So, that's a bummer, but the repair surgery is much less invasive and recovery time will be much shorter, and a medical device failure is certainly not his fault. I've been very pleased with him and his staff. I will say that he did have a receptionist when I first saw him who was not very friendly at all, but his new receptionist is great as is his clinical assistant. It's funny. I always have a good time when I go there. Even his patients are nice! read more

I absolutely love love love Dr. Henke! He is an amazing doctor with wonderful knowledge and bedside manner. I have foot surgery on February 10th and have recovered amazingly. I gone above and beyond my "doctors orders" and it has been so worth it! My speedy recovery is almost over! One month in my tennis shoes and I am ready for flip flops and cute shoes again! Dr. Henke has answered any and all of my questions I have had and never thought twice about a negative thought or vibe. His staff is equally as amazing! They are always smiling and cheerful on the phone and know exactly who I am when I walk in. They ALWAYS great me before the front door even closes! I would totally have my other foot done if it needed it :) Dr. Henke is one of my all time favorite doctors! read more
