I own a triplex apartment building that was in need of significant stucco repair and repainting to match the existing exterior. Because it's a rental property, I didn't want to repaint the entire complex and instead chose a more targeted, piecemeal approach to save money. From the start, Bobby the owner, was fantastic to work with. I had never heard of Hendrix Painting before finding them on Yelp. We decided to get a quote based on the good reviews I read. As we compared Hendrix to our other quotes, we decided to move forward in hiring them because of the quality of paint they were going to use, the process described, their good work guarantee, reasonable quote, pay when happy and a good feel for David's integrity. We explained to him we are very particular and detail oriented. He assured us we would be happy with his painters work and he was spot on! Working with Demi on the scheduling and any issues was a delight. Kevin was the foreman. He was very communicative and directed the painters well. One day, my husband happen to witness one of the painters come down off a ladder and accidentally step on a pipe that was part of our main water shut off. A day later, I noticed the area starting to slowly puddle with water. My husband flew out of state. Kevin looked at it and said the pipe was rusted and said it wasn't their fault, which concerned me. David came to access it and agreed to take care of it since his painter caused the break. That's honesty and integrity which we appreciated. He took care of it right away. Kevin suggested we consider painting the block wall. It was not a hard sale, just a suggestion. I asked for a quote, which we thought was reasonable, so we moved ahead. They did a wonderful job filling any gaps. It looks so nice! With my husband gone, I did the walk through alone and found a few things which they tended to right away. When my husband returned home from out of state, he found a few more things. One example was there were a couple of sprinkler heads that were not covered properly which clogged them, but they took care of it promptly. Hendrix guaranteed their work for 5 years. 5 years ago my family and I were blessed with the house we've always wanted. For its 5th year anniversary we wanted to start changes by changing out the gingerbread brown color (which I was never in love with) of our house to a more modern look. I started looking around for painters on yelp and lucked out and found Hendrix Painting. David came out and quoted me on the spot. I told him I wanted white and black trim. He assured me that the white would be bright white (without any of the old color showing through) which is what I was worried about at first after seeing several white painted homes in the neighborhood. I had other quotes from other companies and their prices were ridiculous! About 2-3 times MORE compared to Hendrix's quote. Fast forward to our exterior house paint appointment and everything went smoothly from the first day. I met with Ryan who did the power wash to prep the house for paint who was very helpful with the whole process. The following day their other team members Stu and Frank (they had other painters but I didn't get to meet personally) who was very courteous and made sure they had all the details right before they started the job. I am not sure why Hendrix Painting has 3.5 stars or so few reviews. They are 5 Star Great! I was introduced to Hendrix when they painted by neighbors house 3 years ago. Although I did and do not like the color they did a great job. The neighbor who has since moved is quite particular so I figured if Hendrix could get a job done for my neighbor they may work for me. I made an appointment with David Hendrix who came out to look at my job. We talked about expectations, paint quality, colors and clean up. I later met David's dad Bobby who was just great. They do not sell, they just talk about the project offering their thoughts on what needs to be done. They gave me a competitive bid based on my expectations (which were/are quite high) and I have never looked back since. It has been a couple of years since my house was painted but it still looks great and I get many compliments. Further, they have painted multiple investment properties (apartment buildings) and I have referred them to several friends. In ALL cases, Hendrix Painting surpassed expectations. As a property owner I am always happy when I get an excellent job done for the lowest price. Usually you get what you pay for, but in this case I think I got more. The job was to completely paint a 3 bedroom, 2 bath apartment and to replace the popcorn ceilings with a smooth finish and paint. And getting it done quickly was important. I got quotes from from 5 local painting contractors. Prices ranged from low $4K to well over $7K. Hendrix Painting was the lowest by several hundred dollars. Normally I would be concerned that I wouldn't be getting the quality job I expected if I take the lowest price. Fortunately, after 30 years of experience hiring contractors I have a well developed sense of when I'm being feed BS. After meeting David for the job estimate walkthrough I could tell he knew what he was doing and was being straight with me. I had decided I wanted to give him a try even before he quoted me the price. Being one of the first quotes I wasn't sure if his price was the best. But the thing that really intrigued me is that David explained that he wouldn't need advance payment or even progress payments, just pay it all, labor and materials, after they complete the job to my complete satisfaction. You need to have complete confidence in your work to put it on the line like that. Well the job turned out very nicely. The ceiling work and painting really updated the whole feel of the apartment. The work was completed expeditiously as promised. The premises were left in a clean condition, which isn't easy when scraping acoustic material from the ceilings. Dave and his team are amazing! My husband and I bought our first condo and it needed some love. There were purple and gray walls, uneven paint jobs, black door ways, popcorn ceilings everywhere and the kitchen cabinets were wonky... Dave was very communicative and honest from the beginning, he gave us a very fair price and worked with me on moving the date when our escrow got delayed.
