I took my 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 to Hendrix because I had a Cam sensor and timing misfire codes that a mechanic I work with diagnosed. My friend said that the engine may have jumped time and needs a a timing job. Hendrix said that was not likely and would further troubleshoot. After about a week, they replaced Cam position sensor which I had done already. Still same codes. So then they replaced the fuel pump saying it had low fuel pressure. Still the same codes and so Hendrix told me that I probably need a new engine as my truck had 217K. Unfortunately I had to pay them $1100 for nothing. Took my truck home and purchased the parts needed to do a timing job, roughly $900. I did a timing job with new tensioner and new timing chain. My truck cranked right up after the work and now I have 252K on it. I would not waste my time with this auto shop. I think Hendrix could learn a thing or two from YouTube as I did regarding the issue and codes my truck was giving. read more

The business charges a hefty service fee to pay with a credit card. Had I known that my repair of $675 would have included an additional $27.02 is service fees, I would have paid in check or cash. The business was uninterested in considering an adjustment claiming the fee notice or "fine print" was near the credit card reader. The attitude of this business is such that another repair shop will earn my business in the future. There are better options out there. read more

Under promise... Over perform!! This should be the motto for Hendrix Auto in Bulverde Tx. 3 days, (12/22/22) before Christmas the "check engine" light come on in my GMC Duramax Truck.. I have a reader so I scanned it (thinking it was another Nox sensor issue) but it turned out to be thermostats were failing.. I am pretty good at fixing things so I looked it up on YouTube and it was a little harder than I wanted to tackle this close to Christmas. I took it over to Hendrix (where I have been to many times over the years) and Jeff told me it would be about $550 and he would get it out by the end of 12/23/22 no later than. With not much hope of that happening, I left it for repairs. The Hendrix Crew actually got it done in about 6 hours and I had it back by 3 pm with a pleasant surprise.. They only charged me $421! The best! So fair, fast and honest. Truly professional and great people to deal with. Do what they say, fix you up for a fair price and no games to milk you. So glad to have them. Took our car in for leaking oil, also the reservoir of windshield fluid was not holding fluid and a sensor. The oil leak was because the filter had backed off and the reservoir of windshield fluid had a hose disconnected. They adjusted these small things for no charge and charged a reasonable price for the sensor. I will not go anywhere else. These folks are a God send. read more

Had truck in for repairs and basically because they could not put a part back on properly they up charged me for a new part that was not broken and had nothing to do with the repair. Just had them do a tuneup on my Silverado using Delco parts. They did a great job and reviewed the old parts with me. They identified a badly worn A/C belt and put a new one on. I didn't ask for this but I a grateful they corrected this situation before I begin a road trip. They reviewed the old belt with with me and it very bad. I glad that I can trust them to do the things I need without doing anything unnecessary. Prices are quite fair and as quoted ahead of thime. I recommend them highly. Update 6/23716. They did work on my brakes today and a few other small items. They did a great job, very thorough and fairly priced. I took my car to Hendrix to have the the seat belts pretensioners fixed which they did. But when I pickrd up my car the the engine was dying everytime I came to a full stop. The car was not doing this before I took it to this shop. I took the car home and started looking for reasons for this problem. I found out that the Idle air control valve was not working and the BISS screw in the carburator was out of adjustment. So, I had to replace the IACV and adjust the BISS screw. I know for fact both parts were fine before I took the car to this shop. I will never again use this shop again." read more

Never Again. I went in for an A/C issue and manager agreed it was the compressor. When I came to pick my car up they said it was just a drier. Cost was still about $600. Then I never made it to the light at 281, no A/C. I returned and it was the compressor that was bad. They refused to refund or apply the previous payment to the work needed; even when it was their mistake. When I left the 1st time we agreed that the compressor would be replaced. I was never called about just a drier. My total was over $1200. Never Again!!! read more

I recently deployed overseas and the day I leave my truck won't start. Not being mechanically inclined and having no other recourse, my wife took the truck to Hendrix. Actually, it was towed to Hendrix. They managed to get it running just far enough to get it outside their front gate. After $626 worth of parts and labor, my wife had to have it towed home because it wouldn't, still won't, start, Now I am trying to talk my son through fixing it on long distance, if he can't get it fixed, it will have to wait till I return. I don't know that the parts they replaced did/did not need replacing. That is not what I'm upset about. They refused to finish the job, stating they don't work on the particular aftermarket part they think may still be the problem. Well, someone is going to have to fix it. Thought that is what mechanic shops were for. I'll never take another vehicle there. I would give them zero stars if yelp allowed that option. read more
