Some of the staff are dishonest . They like to give you the run around when there is a issue that needs to resolved.

This review is about 8 months overdue! Apologies to Griffin Buick!…read more I was interested in purchasing a used truck from a nearby sales lot. I was extremely interested in this vehicle (a Chevy) and asked the dealer where I can take the truck to for a quick check-out. They suggested Griffin Buick. So I made an appointment later that day and dropped the truck off at Griffin Buick, while I waited in the waiting room. I worked with Richard O. at the service desk. Richard wrote up an estimate for me and I was in agreement, so they began their inspection. After about 30 minutes, Richard comes into the waiting room and asks me to follow him. He is shaking his head and tells me, "you have to see this." I follow him into the mechanics' garage where the truck is hoisted up on a rack. Him and his service crew proceed to show me that there is nothing 'sound' in this vehicle: the rack-and-pinion steering is completely shot, the shocks are worn and leaking, the springs are weak. In short, the steering and suspension systems need overhauling. He strongly advises me "do NOT buy this vehicle!!!". I take his stern warning and run with it... He feels so badly for me, in fact, that he waives the service inspection fee :O I was shocked at his kindness and took too his advice. I am EXTREMELY grateful to Griffin Buick and Richard O in particular of saving me from a $10,000 mistake!!!! I get home, and explain to my spouse the story of what just transpired. Then she tells me, "Oh, they're great! That is where I take my car all the time for service and oil changes!". Wow, I did not know that! I will tell you this: if I buy another car in the future, I would absolutely give Griffin Buick my first preference. If this is how they treat non-Buick owners, I can only imagine how they treat "one of their own." Top notch service advisors and mechanics bar none!

Scam Alert Don't buy…read morehere! Don't waste your hard-earned money at this dealership. They are scammers. This dealership is nothing but a den of scammers, ready to swindle you out of your hard-earned cash. Their mechanics? Nothing but liars. I reached out to inquire about a 2009 Volkswagen GTI with 85K miles, as advertised on Carfax. They assured me it was ready for a test drive. However, during the drive, the car behaved strangely, and a mysterious light popped up. When I questioned the Sales Manager, he brushed it off, attributing it to my driving on a rough road. Their mechanic magically turned off the light. They assured me the car was in excellent condition and well-maintained, but that was far from the truth. The Carfax history was sketchy, indicating no recent inspection. When questioned, they hastily explained that they had performed all necessary repairs after receiving the car as a trade-in. False assurances were given that any issues could be brought back for fixing--empty promises. After shelling out $8000 and driving home, the check engine light illuminated, and I discovered severe windshield damage undisclosed during the purchase. Upon contacting Juan, the Sales Manager, he requested I return the car the following week. Their mechanic, using ODB2, erased the check engine light, claiming they forgot to reset it after maintenance. Skeptical, I consulted another mechanic who provided a lengthy list of issues: steering wheel column problem, transmission malfunction (no reverse), cooling system problem, and mass airflow problem. Returning with a written diagnostic from an independent mechanic, I requested that they fix the issues. Speaking to Juan in Spanish, the mechanic confirmed the problems because using an ODB2 scanner he saw the same errors. He declared they wouldn't fix anything because they sold the car "as-is." I reminded him of their obligation to disclose all issues, per the law. In response, he exploded in anger, even threatening violence if I didn't leave. I walked away. Before leaving, their mechanic, at Juan's instruction, erased the check engine light once again. Doing extensive research on the car's VIN number revealed that it had failed safety and emission tests before being sold to me. I am now stuck with a car I can't drive because it is not safe to operate. I am also out of over $8000. I strongly advise staying away from this deceitful company. Save yourself the trouble and keep your money safe.

As others have commented, you can expect a nice, laid-back car buying experience with Charlotte…read moreAuto Group. The prices are fair; there is no haggling, but none is really needed because nothing is radically marked up. After two months of searching for the right car to replace a total loss (and two months of countless visits to drive vehicles at big name dealers), we found one via AutoTr*der that looked good at Charlotte Auto Group. When we got there, we were really impressed by the service we received from Michelle, Duc, and their other employees. We were able to test drive the car by ourselves without anyone tagging along, on a route of our choosing, and there was never any pressure about buying the car. When Michelle first showed it to me, she even pointed out a scratch on the door that she said she hadn't seen before, but did want me to be aware. The car was clean and in good shape, and we felt a lot better about giving our business to this 'mom and pop' shop as opposed to one of the big, greasy dealers who charge you extra thousands in random made-up fees. We were in and out with our purchase in less than 2 hours, including our somewhat-lengthy test drive. I'm sure the process would have been a lot longer if we bought from a big dealership. We swung by my trusted mechanic this morning (at Neighborhood Garage on Iverson Way) who confirmed that we got a solid machine that will hopefully last us many, many years to come. Check out the Edmund's reports for whatever car you're interested in, do your research, and I think you can expect to find a good, clean car for a good price with Michelle and Duc.

Two experience perspectives below. Would give 2.5 stars if I could because one was a 5 star and the…read moreother a 1 star. But always recommend you do your research and go with your gut. These are just my experiences. Experience #2 2022 Traded in our larger family car for a smaller, safe suv for my daughter's first car - she has her permit so her practice driving was gonna be in this car. Found a decent looking Ford Escape with low miles. Had a couple of concerns on the test drive that were dismissed in a manner that made sense at the time. Unfortunately they wound up being a little more serious - 3 tires that needed patches and a bad battery that impacted the electrical system. On top of all that, less than 1 month into ownership the transmission (torque converter) started causing a shutter between 35/45mph. I mentioned some of the issues to CAG via text and email - was nice about it at first - but was told that because the car I traded in wound up having transmission issues (which we had discussed prior to the deal) there was no room for good will. Ok. I had the warranty anyway. I had asked for a warranty that would cover everything minus a deductible and purchased it. Low and behold the warranty actually will only cover about half the cost - so $1500+ out of pocket.(Was told I should have read the fine print. Yep. I should have.) Told the dealer this and again was given several reasons why they were not responsible for any of it - with the exception of an offer to possibly reimburse for the battery. So their website says they "stand behind their cars" but in this case they were several hundred miles behind it. Major repairs like this within less than 90 days... shouldn't be the customer's full responsibility. They never offered to have their own mechanic look at it. Never asked any questions or expressed any concern for the issues. Didn't ask if my daughter had gotten stuck on the side of the road or anything. It turned into a back and forth with no resolution not even agreement wherein both sides don't win but also don't lose. I'm out the money for the car, the warranty and the repair. Buyer beware I guess. Experience#1 2019 Cody and Duke took great care of my elderly parents. We were looking for an affordable, but comfortable and reliable vehicle. The CAG team were fair, and certainly went far above and beyond what one would expect from a car buying experience. Respectful, caring and sincere. Thank you!
