I really wanted to love Hendough after seeing photos on Yelp, but it ended up being one of the biggest disappointments of our trip. The first photo I saw made it look like they specialized in giant, creative donuts, so we walked all the way through downtown looking forward to a fun dessert stop after our meal. Unfortunately, that wasn't the experience we had. Hendough is located inside an outdoor food hall, which is actually a really fun social atmosphere. It's one of the first stalls on the right when you walk in, although it's a bit confusing because ordering and pickup are shared with the neighboring vendor. Once we got there, I realized it's primarily a chicken biscuit shop. That's perfectly fine I guess since I love a good chicken sandwich and biscuit. So since we were already there I decided to try the Nashville Hot Chicken Biscuit. Sadly, it missed the mark. The chicken was dry, overly greasy, and the breading was crumbly. There was a large grease stain soaking through the biscuit, and despite being labeled Nashville hot, it had almost no heat or flavor. Since we had originally come for the donuts, we tried those too. By the time we arrived, they weren't fresh and were being offered as a buy-one-get-one special after 6 p.m. Even at the discounted price, they tasted like an average grocery store donut; nothing memorable or worth making a special trip for. The only bright spots were the friendly service at the counter and the lively atmosphere of the food hall itself. Unfortunately, the food simply didn't live up to the hype, especially after going out of our way to visit. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend making a special trip for Hendough. read more

Chicken was dry and way overcooked. Cashier was not overly friendly. Ordered an iced coffee and asked for sugar, was told they only had sugar packets to later find out they actually had syrups. All in all this is a cute outdoor atmosphere but hen dough was not having their best day! read more

Second time in two weeks, they lost our order! The first time I paid by card , signed the screen , they gave us our cups for drinks and we we t outside to wait. It was not busy at the timeat all. They saw us waiting. After 20 min or so I went in to check on our order, I asked about our order, she rattled off what we ordered. Says oh the transaction disn't go through?!! When was she going to tell us?? This week we went on Fathers Day, very busy, wait in line, pay cash, take the buzzer go outside to wait. 30 minutes we see people who were in line after us getting there food. Go back in had to wait to get someone's attention.. where is our order, she looks at our buzzer and asks the kitchen about order #7...they don't have it! First place we went to eat while visiting Greenville. The food hall had just opened on this Friday, it's all outdoors. I ordered the southern chicken sandwich that came with pimento cheese on it and a cinnamon espresso donut. The sandwich was pretty good, fried to order and overall yummy. As far as the donut, I'm always looking for ones with the perfect texture and sweetness and not overly doughy. It really was perfect and had the perfect coffee flavor, it really delivered. I've had donuts all over cali and the East coast and this really was a front runner. Perfect size, texture and flavor. Toppings went perfect with it. It was medium sized and I feel like donuts aren't "the bigger the better." I hope to get back here for other donut flavors before the end of our trip! We had a coupon for a free sandwich with purchase from our Realtor. We almost didn't use it because Gather GVL is on the edge of downtown and parking is a chore. Glad we did though. The sandwiches were pretty good. Maple Bacon had a nice flavor and a good crunchy breaded chicken breast. The Southern Chicken sandwich had pimento cheese on it, but really could have used some tomato or something to counter the rich cheese and fried chicken breast. We Loved the Cookie Monster Donut smooth butter cream and cookie crumbles on top. The carrot cake donut was okay, the cream cheese icing was super sweet. Not our favorite but the donuts them selves are very well proofed and delicious. Gather GVL is a busy rambunctious spot! Be sure you have seats saved before you order food. I honestly want to give them a five star rating however, due to the change in their vegan donuts, it's a mx between a three and four star rating as they are so different that I don't even want to go back. But also I love that they have these options! I believe they stopped caring them for a while and then they got a new baker that was trying to learn the recipes... The last time I got the donuts was maybe around spring time or summer time of 2023 and they were thicker and they were not as good at all! So bad that I never got them again. It breaks my heart because I love that they had these options for people who don't eat eggs or dairy. I just wish that they tasted the same as I did before because they're not good anymore. However! We went to HenDough for breakfast. We got some chicken biscuits; bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits; and glazed doughnuts. My friends had the bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit and said it tasted fresh and yummy. I had the chicken biscuit which was okay- the biscuit was dry but chicken was tasty. The doughnuts were large, soft, and yummy. This a great place for a Saturday morning outing with small children. THIS IS the BEST Chicken biscuit in Greenville. Period. Every time. A fresh fantastic product and consistency is the secret for success. Next time I'll try take a picture before I dive right in. I had the Nashville Hot and my daughter had the traditional chicken biscuit. The way this fresh soft biscuit compliments the perfectly fried lightly breaded chicken breast is definitely divine. The doughnuts are very soft, a bit dense comparatively, but none the less, you should get one to spilt to have a little something sweet to complete this delicious early lunch. Run, don't walk!! On a Saturday morning after a run, I love to get two donuts. My favorite is the caramel espresso donut; I get it every time. Love the concept of chicken and donuts; love that this idea was conceived in Hendersonville, NC. Truthfully, I wanted to eat something from Cafe Zorba, but it closed before I could mosey my way there, so this was a second choice. Hubby tried the French Toast and I went with the Traditional Chicken Sandwich. No donuts this time, but maybe next time. The food itself was fine. I enjoyed the chicken sandwich as it had a different kind of batter on the chicken; just not the usual I'm used to. My better half devoured the French toast, so no complaints there. What did take me off guard was the lackluster engagement from the order taker. You could just tell that she would rather have been on Antarctica than at HenDough helping customers, because her demeanor was icy. Icicles! Passing through town and decided to check out the donut place. The owner was chatting outside and came over to see if i was looking for donuts. We had a nice chat about my hometown college. It wasn't open yet, so I decided to come back in an hour. I came back and decided to go with a Birthday Cake donut and it sure did not disappoint!
