Mayra was not only extremely personable, she checked Medicare and found that I could file my new glasses with Medicare-- and saved some money. I was quite comfortable in the relaxed, friendly atmosphere until management decided to call an employee to task for a really minor infraction while I was sitting there. The manager did not get up and come over to tell the employee quietly that she'd made an error. She berated her in front of everyone. I was impressed with how that employee shook it off and continued to smile, because I was still annoyed hours later. But my experience with Mayra outweighed everything else so I'm still giving 5 stars. Also, the other two employees were friendly as well, and smiled often. It was just the manager that made me feel ill at ease.

As I found out because I called my insurance company to request this a refund I had to pay out of pocket to get new glasses. Prior to getting new glasses I called my insurance to make sure I knew exactly what my budget was and make sure when I went to pick out new glasses I stayed within my budget. My surprise when the worker told me that would be $30 that my insurance wouldn't cover. I asked her what it was it for she really couldn't give me an clear answer of why I was being charged $30 out of pocket. Instead of fighting with her because from the instant I walked in I noticed she had an attitude and was very rude not just to me but the other customers so I decided I would just take it up with my insurance company. Call my insurance company let them know what was going on and thought maybe the worker I spoke to prior gave me the wrong information. Nope my insurance company informed me that I was well within my budget and I should not have been charged $30 out of pocket. They asked me to email me a copy of my receipt which I did and that's what I found out that they were trying to scan my insurance company out of money because the amount that they claimed my glasses cost and the amount that was actually on the receipt was off by a couple hundred dollars.

Went to Sam's Club and was able to get 2 pairs of glasses with the same lenses for $344. There are several online alternatives which offer much better prices than NEA.
