Using the name of Hemingway was not going to secure my trip here but since I do have a soft spot for Papa Hemingway, I knew I had to have a drink here. The blue neon lights underneath bar identified it for me as I walked throughout the mazelike roads in Ericeira. Inside, I made my way to the bar and we chatted up with locals as I soaked in the magic of Portugal. It definitely is a popping spot even if the side streets seem dull on your way in. Plus, they're open super late and quick to serve you a stiff drink. Ericeira is a quaint surf and fishing town on Portugal's Atlantic coast just about 40 minutes from Lisbon. People tend to visit this area for its beaches and culture and while you're in the area, this strip boasts plenty of dining and shopping options. read more
