Internally, it's pretty much the same as any other Morrisons: a little dated, lots of yellow and black, a little disshevelled looking but plenty of decent stuff at reasonable prices. It's not the largest shop in the world but it's more than big enough for the average family weekly shop, and it's loads bigger than the tiny little Asda at the other end of the town centre.

Its typical of most original-Morrisons stores, and includes a market street area including the Produce dept and a fish bar. The store sells a large range of groceries, and has started to sell electrical items as well. They also randomly sell Sandisk memory cards for next to nothing. It often does extremely generous deals on Wii and xbox games, along with decent dvd multipacks. There is also a petrol station which is not directly part of the store - it is on Moorgate around the corner from the main store.

At first glance, it looks a bit like a cross between Superdrug & Poundland. But once you actually have a good look round, you discover that they actually do sell bargains for the home! They sell branded cosmetics and toiletries, food and drink (including alcohol!), toys (some real bargains to be had there), stationery, cards, bedding, basic DIY stuff and general house clutter. I got some floating shelves (same as Ikea LACK) for £3.99 each the other week, a BHS mirror that had been £60 for a tenner, and they often have Cadbury's chocolate for 10p a bar. Lovely store, helpful staff, clean and spacious. Trolleys available but you need a quid! They take cards and give free carrier bagswhat more could you want?!

Wilkinsons is a really good shop for basic household bits and pieces. If you just need a bag of…read morescrews or a hook or something, you'll find it here for a fraction of the price you'd pay in B&Q. They also sell some quite nice homewares, pictures, kitchen stuff, lighting, paint and wallpaper, plants and garden tools. Some toys, stationery although not many, and a large section containing cosmetics and household cleaning products make it a really useful store. This branch is average in size, but well stocked. It's located on the main street, so you've got to walk a little to the car park but there is a back door and the rear tills are always open so you can get out that way to avoid lugging your purchases too far!

It's a bit of a funny store: it isn't 'budget' cheap stuff, but it isn't expensive either. It's in the same sort of boat as BHS in terms of quality and price. I love Mackays baby stuff (I'll never call it M&Co!). They've got a really cute selection, and although it isn't cheap they do greatly reduce their sale items, so it's well worth visiting regularly. This store is a fair size and has womenswear and childrenswear, but no men's dept. Nice, spacious and clean, and staff were always pleasant when I've been there.
