Fabulous boutique specialising in "Antique, Boutique and Vintage"…read more The shop emits a luxurious feel with it's well displayed wares in the smallish space. There is none of the clutter to lessen the shopping experience that you get in so many of the London vintage shops, giving the impression that each item has been hand picked for this store, rather than being a jumble sale that you have to wade through in hope of stumbling across a gem. I loved the women's bags and accessories, and happily left with some scarves for my collection. I expect that I will be back before my short stay in Lincoln is over. Definitely worth a visit!

I was drawn in by the accessories in the window. They had some cute stuff, nothing in my size and the accessories, while lovely, were not necessities on this particular trip. The clothing selection is a bit limited because there is no clutter and the racks aren't overflowing with clothing, but that's kind of what I like about it.

The oldest department store in the world? Maybe. But it's not all frumpy rumpy old fuddy…read more I was in town when all the sales were happening. Thus, everything had a good price. At the entrance of this store, there is a beautiful display of bathing things: scented, glittery, soapy things. Beautiful. Further back there are hats and belts. Then a small section of crystal stuff. And other department store areas. Even for the experienced shopper, I was having a tough time telling the department stores apart. I was trying to organize by hierarchy and some left me a bit confused. This was not as trendy as New Look nor as cheap in quality. But it's not M&S. Everything is expensive in the UK. Even going to the toilet comes with a fee.

Ah, Eve and Ranshaw - Louth's traditional old-fashioned department store. I know a lot of people…read morewho rave about this place, but I'm not one of them - it's a decent enough shop, but I think it's too crowded, and tries to sell too many different things in too small a space. They only have small ranges of all the items they offer, which means choice is limited, and a lot of the designers they stock are old-fashioned and unfashionable. On the ground floor you find handbags, men's clothing, women's clothing, kitchenware, china, glass and bedding as well as a fabric/haberdashery department. Typical brands on offer include Portmeirion china and Fiorelli handbags. Upstairs is the lingerie shop, which admittedly has a fantastic range, particularly of shapewear. Eve and Ranshaw is crowded and it's hard to negotiate if you have a buggy or a child with you, but since the staff aren't child-friendly anyway, this isn't really a problem as its just somewhere to avoid if you are shopping with kids. It's a mainstay of the town, so I hope it keeps going, but I think it needs to move with the times - if only slightly - if it's to survive another 100+ years!

The lady who works in there is very helpful and is great fun, really helpful to customers. Prices are good and you can be guaranteed of finding something different. Shops at the Feathers end of Mercer Row have a hard time surviving in Louth but I hope Feathers does, as it's a definite asset to the town.

Staff friendly and polite, only bad thing is pushing you to have a store card, which the staff have to do anyway so its not technically their fault.

The staff are friendly, take care when handling products to purchase and take questions and queries on bored. I find it very good how when you walk out of the changing rooms, a staff sees you and comes to give advice whether if a different size, colour or other things such as accessories will look better and make the person more 'trendy'. When purchasing an item, the staff at the till will talk to you and ask if you will be 'doing anything nice' due to the things which is about to be bought. New Look is practically more wardrobe and everything ticks my expectations and nothing i can think off is an issue. The best shop ever and not too pricey prices. Although, no one wants to pay more then they can.

Debenhams is always my first stop when i'm looking for anything. They sell menswear, perfume, bags…read moreand jewellery downstairs, as well as having a Game in the store too, then up the escelator (or lift) to womenswear, homewear, underwear and kids wear. They have a cafe too, up a fllight of stairs from womenswear, or up in the lift. The womenswear section has a dorothy perkins, wearhouse, principals and oasis as well as the Debenhams brands such as Rocha John Rocha, Red Herring and my favourite, Julien Macdonald. They regularly have sales of upto 70% off, and it's definately woth catching these early for quality items at bargain prices. The Debenhams Classic section of the store is great for cheap basics, although these items aren't the most beautiful ever, they will be the start of a staple wardrobe. I recently bought a grey pencil skirt for less than £10. It's perfect for work! There is a free personal shopper in the lincoln store, who you can book in advance. She's very good, knowing quickly what will suit you, and she's not at all pushy like some sales women are. She's not intimidating either, I went to her after i put on a lot of weight, i'd gone upto a size 18/20 and didn't know what suited me anymore and she was so kind and patient and showed me so many ways to dress up basic items so i could have a whole new wardrobe without spending much (she even offered to take me out and show me lincoln because i said i'd just moved!) It's a lovely big store, and although it's not really cheap, when the sales are on, some real bargains can be had. They're also very accommodating when it comes to returns of faulty goods etc.

It has a massive range of products; perfumes and cosmetics, watches, jewellery, clothes - mens, womens and childrens, lingerie, toys and games, household goods - cutlery, pots, pans, fabrics, in fact all the sorts of things you'd expect to find in a department store. In Grimsby we have a rather nice House of Fraser Store but I do prefer to come to Lincoln to go to Debenhams because it has everything House of Fraser have and more, it's also laid out better - it almost has a bazaar feel to it with lots of little nooks and crannies where bargains are often to be found, the staff are great too. I must not forget to mention the store restaurant - it blows most other department store restaurants away. The choice is pretty good and the prices aren't bad at all. The layout is pretty good and it is fairly sizeable too, so even when it's busy you can usually find a table and the staff are brilliant - which when you've got a child with you who suddenly decides they are hungry you need fast helpful service and that's exactly what you get.

There is also a selection of formal wear to hire at quite reasonable prices. The prices in the store are quite reasonable for the quality - they are more expensive than asda or tesco for instance but the quality is also better. Apart from the suits the majority of the clothing is aimed at the more mature man - more formal casual than trendy casual - but if you're looking for a bargain work suit and shoes this is a good place to go. The staff are always very friendly and they at least know what they are selling unlike the staff in supermarkets. They will also (tactfully) tell you if something doesn't suit you and try to get you into something that does suit you - again something you won't find in supermarkets who are only interested in the quick sale. Have a rummage around because there's usually something at a bargain price.
