If I could leave less than 1 star I would. Where do I start. They did not handle any of my moms things with care. They packed her things in water damaged boxes. They dragged her brand new mattresses across the ground. They took up so much time just standing around so they could charge more it was ridiculous. It took 4 men 5 hours to move a studio apartment and an almost empty one bedroom apartment less than 10 miles. They also left matchbooks randomly throughout my house. They just threw random things in boxes to include their trash. I am so disappointed because I only heard good things. I really hate to give this company a low score. They did a very good job in moving my items and were reasonably priced. The reason I am giving them such a low score is because they were late in showing up for the job, which I understand things happen. Then in the process of moving a piece of glass from a table was broken. Still no big deal, things happen. I was assured it would be replaced. The matching piece of glass was taken by Gary to use as a template to make the piece of glass that was broken in the move. It has been almost a year since this occurred and I still have no new glass for the table, he will not return the glass that he used as a template and only wants to compensate me with $35.00. Help! Movers did an excellent job with our move across town. Everything was carefully packed in the truck and arrived in great condition. They were very careful with both boxes and large furniture and took care not to damage the newly painted walls and carpet. I will never use these movers or recommend them to anyone...Things were damaged..they did not put large items where I told them to....they left stuff in my apartment that I had to hire movers to finish up what they didn't..It was a total cluster fu**.. Then after I was told it was 70 per hour they went from noon to 4-5 2 guys plus Gary.. Gary and his crews did a fantastic job packing and moving our belongings cross country. We moved from OH to CA. We were down to nothing with moving options until Help Movers came into the picture. Gary himself orchestrated the loading of our belongings into the moving trucks including piano, statues, furniture and lots of boxes. It was more than expected. DO NOT HIRE GARY OR HELP MOVERS! GARY WILL GHOST YOU WHEN SOMETHING GOES WRONG. He still owes me $2,134. I have a current and open case against Gary/HELP Movers with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). Call them 800-686-7826 and they will confirm case #00648939. I have all texts and emails saved. Gary from HELP Movers was hired on multiple occasions to move household goods. The last move involved a hot tub and automated powered cover from 2156 Grice Lane, Kettering, OH to a storage unit. I confirmed with Gary prior to the December 17, 2018, move if he was able to move the hot tub and cover as special precautions must be taken. Gary responded it was "child's play" and wouldn't be a problem. The HELP Movers crew disassembled the cover and support structure at the house. They moved the hot tub and cover to a storage unit. The crew did not take proper precautions and care when moving to the storage unit as the cover, support structure, and motor assembly was dropped, tossed, and left to fall over in the storage unit. I told the crew I was concerned if the motor unit and support structure would be functional since it fell apart as they moved it into the unit. The crew told me to contact Gary if there were any issues. The HELP Movers crew moved the household goods from the storage unit to the new house location at 1631 Kirkley Hall Drive, Miamisburg, OH, Jan. 4 - 6, 2019. The hot tub, cover, support structure, and motor unit were left in the unit as it was already agreed Hot Spring Spa of Dayton would provide a separate service to move the hot tub and accessories to the new house. The Hot Spring Spa crew arrived at the storage unit approximately Jan. 24, 2019. The crew saw the condition of the accessories and immediately determined the cover, support structure, and motor unit would not be functional once it arrived at Kirkley Hall Drive. The crew delivered the hot tub to the house and returned to the Hot Spring Spa shop to repair the cover and accessories. On Jan. 25, 2019, I received an invoice for the move and repair work to return the cover to an operational status. The invoice totaled $2,529. On Feb. 12, 2019, I contacted Gary by text to make an insurance claim on the cover damages. Gary asked several questions, did not provide a form or method for an insurance claim, and would not commit to paying for the damages caused by his company. On March 5, 2019, I continued to follow up with Gary on paying the cover damages. On March 6, 2019, I provided the Hot Spring Spa invoice copy via email. The conversation continued until the end of April 2019 when he stopped responding to my communication in an effort to avoid paying for damages caused by his crew. In May 2019, two separate letters were issued to contact Gary by certified mail; however, Gary continued to ignore the request. Gary has multiple addresses listed. I am extremely disappointed with the service and level or professionalism. They showed up hours late, I had to call them and ask if they were coming. They arrived in a smaller truck than advertised which forced multiple trips and cost triple tye amount quoted "with a discount". Movers were carrying one small box at a time to unload the truck and placing it anywhere. I basically had to move all the boxes once they left. They did not bring boxes or tape for packing and worst of all they damaged a nice piece of furniture and will not take responsibility to fix or replace. They are not organized nor prepared for full service moving for a family home. I would not recommend them. read more

I made reservation 2 wks in advance. THey were to be there late morning on a Friday. At noon, I receive a call that their truck is tied up. (he didn't know that 2 hours ago?) He's looking at renting a truck. He says he's on his way to get the truck and will be headed to my house. Two hours later, no one has arrived. I call and get NO ANSWER -and voice mail is full! At 3:00pm, he calls to say they'll can't be there till tomorrow morning at 11. Saturday morning at 10:15, I get a text message from him saying he won't be therel---how about Saturday night? The worst moving experience of my life. I hired Help Movers to pack, clean, haul trash and move from Dayton to Chattanooga. They never showed up before noon to pack or clean then actually arrived at 9:00pm to pack truck for move. Once mostly boxes and a few pieces of furniture were packed, owner sent truck to Chattanooga without notice. The owner was intolerant and uncommunicative. In the end, I had to hire separate crew to finish hauling discarded furniture and trash. My bill was outrageous for terrible service. If u hope to save money or receive more focused, responsive service using a small local company, Help Movers only delivers stress and aggravation for the price of a large professional firm. read more

On Wednesday Sept 20, I inquired about moving service for my Aunt who suffers from lung cancer, dementia and alzheimer's. She had to be out of her home by the end of this month without being thrown out on the streets. After speaking with Gary for $60 per hour per person and what dates he had available. I told him I live out of state and would be responsible for the bill. he stated that wouldn't be a problem and could video chat or send pictures by text. I told him I would call other company's and call him back. I called him back to confirm everything he told me he was on the other line and to text all the info. I did except for storage location. Other family members were scrambling to get it in place. I told him i would text info no later than Sat. morning for a Sunday move from 12-6pm with 2 man crew and 5 family members. On Friday Sept 22 Gary texted to say he was in the neighborhood and could drop off boxs. Thought that was nice and even took my Aunt to the store. I thought wow this is going to be great move for her. I also gave him the confirmed address of storage for Sunday. Saturday i get a text message from Gary at 1:43 am saying ok thank in response to storage location. (what professional business responds at that hour) At 1:33pm Gary texted stating that they finished a job early and could do the move a day early. I told him no I have everyone in place for tomorrow but thank you..... Sunday the day of the move a family member calls me to confirm move tome from 12-6pm. I responded yes I haven't been told differently. I get a text from Gary at 1:01pm asking if we were ready. I texted him back at 1:26 stating Appt time was 12 been ready. I stated getting calls and text from different numbers. I answered the and this person is asking how there going to get paid. I'm floored by his statement considering they are now 2 hours late haven't put anything on the truck and asking about being paid. I get a text from Kairun that they are headed to my Aunts house.I responded they have been waiting since 12. He then responded that I should have never been scheduled for 12 due to the religious purpose we don't operate until 1-1:30pm etc. I sent him a screen shot of my confirmation and never responded back. I then sent Gary a message of why are all these people contacting me about being paid and not knowing they are late and to call me ASAP. @2:11. @2:14 Gary states that his staff was calling to confirm appt. I said they are late. He then states that they are saying there's way more stuff than they thought and wont be able to finish on time. I said what do you mean i have 5 family members there to help and you dropped off box's to her why would you not evaluate your job. He says let me call you right back. He calls back and say i'm going to send 2 more guys out there to help. I said that not what I agreed to and at whose expense. He said yours. I said how are you going to strong arm me to pay more when i have help already there. He said well I can help if this exceeds your budget to get the job done sooner. We have another job to do so were going to get started. I said but there will be 2 men and a truck there packing correct? He said no were canceling this job to go to the next. I said what? I booked a time and what I needed to do this job and because your demanding i use 2 additional workers at $60 and hour per person $120 more per hour. So you can guarantee they will be out in 3 hrs vs.6. He said I'm not stating nothing because i telling my crew to leave. I said let me call my Aunt and I will call you right back. He said there is no need to call me back your job is canceled.............. THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL, UNORGANIZED, STRONG ARMING, CROOKED business. These guys are the worst movers in the the history of moving. They quote you one price then charge you a higher price. They damage your property (the stuff they are moving & the structure they are moving from/to). The guy in charge spent more time on the phone than he did moving. It got so bad that me & my family had to start helping them unload because they were so incompetent (maybe thats how they got their name, you have to help them).
