He additionally blamed his lateness on the poor directions of our female directors, with an EXTREMELY misogynistic and derogatory comment, but they were only giving him directions because he had missed multiple turns and added multiple hours to our driving time over the course of this 2 mile circle of the same 10 blocks for over an HOUR. I also think its important to note he was late to pick us up and it literally would have been faster to get out and walk, as he circled the same exat blocks in brussels for over 30 minutes and eventually just stopped in the middle of the street even though there was an abundance of bus parking. I am planning a trip back to europe despite, this was by far the worst and most inconvenient part of my trip, but i will be sure to avoid this company and will do anything i can to ensure others do in the future.

It is located in historic SW Germany. While the base offers lovely suites, generous amounts of American fast food and a mall with standard base stores, it is close to wonderful, historic towns that offer fabulous German food and places of interest. Large forests with hiking trails, many castles to explore, good shopping in walking districts and so much history, too much for a 3 week trip! With GPS in our rental car, it was very easy to find the local communities. The base also has the USO and a travel agency available with day trips to Belgium, France, Amsterdam, the Swiss border, Rhine and Mosel River cruises, and tours of major German cities. The USO offers orientation on riding the German Trains. I am hoping there is still room in their German cooking class! Everyone at the base has been incredibly helpful and pleasant. We are finishing up our first day toasting with a local riesling wine, sitting in comfortable easy chairs at the window overlooking the airfield below. What a lovely place.

AMCR however gave us a ride in an employees car the 5 minutes to their location in town. We ended up having to pay VAT tax on the car which is automatically taken out at the KMCC location. The staff was friendly with workable English. We rented a Citroen C-1 at about $50 USD/day which was fine for 2 people and luggage. It struggled keeping up on the autobahn. We returned the car on the Ramstein Air Force Base. They have a rental car drop off lot right near the pax terminal and a key drop in side the pax terminal. Very useful.

Instead of canceling my reservation they charged my card the rental amount anyway. When i called to request a refund they first couldn't find a reservation under my name even though i provided my information. Then they hung up on me...i called back and was told i needed to come in the office because they didnt show where my card was ever charged. The manager is clueless and always calls on her subordinates for help....if i could give this place 0 stars i most definitely would. Worst customer service ever!!! Never again! Go to sixt on base!!!

I told them I had a reservation for something resembling a small minivan that was diesel. The lady at the desk informed me that they had some kind of Nissan SUV that was regular gas or an Audi Wagon A4 that was diesel. (cue the crickets) What? I made a reservation, on the reservation page they showed things that I would have gotten but were displaying as not available. For example I would have gone with a BIGGER wagon that was diesel. Or a Ford SMax Minivan that was diesel. They were all listed as unavailable. So the next best thing that was available was something resembling a VW Touran Diesel - or something in it's class. I looked at their site again and neither the larger Nisaan SUV or the Audi A4 are in this category. I was stuck. We needed a vehicle. I reserved this online. I showed up. I did not want to be charged for canceling the reservation on the spot. I needed a car and I knew that SIXT has been considerably reliable. So we got the Audi A4 Diesel wagon, as it was the only diesel thing on their lot that wasn't smaller than a Mini Cooper. We reserved a bigger car because we were going skiing, not because we were two childless adults going on a beach trip and only needed to pack our bikinis. We were going on a SKI TRIP WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN. Maybe Sixt workers do not have kids? So they think you can pack two small children and their crap load of ski winter clothes into the glovebox of a mini cooper (they are small right? so their stuff is small?). I used to love SIXT but I can now say I will not be renting from them. After we jam packed into the car and went on a SKI TRIP for a week with TWO KIDS....I will be suggesting everyone take their business elsewhere, even if it costs a few extra dollars. It was not worth the hassle and insanity that we experienced.

Vergoelst Reifen were wonderful, one of the service engineers stayed late to replace the tyre with a good one, checked the other side tyre and added air. They proved a true diamond for complete strangers who they knew would never be returning for more work. Thanks.

When I was young dad and I would do it in the driveway and store the spare set in the garage. Fast forward 40 years. Dad's in a wheelchair and we've got no garage. But no worries. We can just take our vehicle to Vergölst and they take care of everything including storage. And if you don't want to bother with taking your car to the TÜV, they'll do it for you too!
