I've been coming to their office since I can't remembers! I'm 19 now and in college and still come for my cleanings. I also did my braces with them at their Woodside location. I did used to get cavities when I was younger and even had to a bunch of treatment when I was like five or six years old with Dr. Atty but I've been pretty good since. They did finds small cavities in my back teeth right before college, but used the special SDF medicine to take care of it and had me brush with the prescription paste and I've been good! I like my smile and feel confident and am now happy to leave my own review after being asked! Well past due! I just hope they will finally begin to offer adult dental services as my insurance will be running out soon :( read more

I am amending my initial review based on the conversations and meeting I had with Dr. Hemaseh Nasseh. When I followed up via email regarding my review below, Dr. Nasseh contacted me within an hour to discuss what happened with the other dentist. She calmly and empathetically listened to my concerns and the problem at hand. She made sure I received x-rays from my son's previous appointment, and offered for me to meet with her in person to discuss and review. During our meeting, she went over everything thoroughly. It's clear she cares immensely about her practice and services provided to the community. I saw a positive difference in how appointments were handled while I was there. If every appointment was like the one during our meeting, there never would have been an issue in the first place. Original post: Front staff are always friendly and helpful. However, I have an issue with the dentist in the Park Slope location who saw my son today. I contacted the office because my child had a tooth growing in on top of another top (see attached picture). I had to wait outside the exam room because there is no space for parents. The dentist told me he's extracting two teeth today, so I said "Well, I would like you to look at the teeth first before just assuming they need to be extracted." He became very rude and dismissive stating that's what the evaluation says (referring a picture I had to send with the Google form they requested I complete). Told him if they need to be extracted, that's fine and what I figured but wanted my son examined first. He spent two seconds looking at my son's teeth then confirmed the two teeth needed to be extracted. I said okay, and he proceeded. Afterwards, I asked about the teeth, thinking it was the tooth already there and the tooth growing in over it. He cut me off and said they were both baby teeth. I trusted what he said and we left. As we got home, my son said the dentist took a tooth from each side of his mouth. I was very confused because we never mentioned or sent pictures of anything but the two teeth on his left side. I called and spoke to the dentist directly, who continued to be rude and said we discussed two teeth being extracted. Told him I only discussed and sent a picture of the left side of his mouth, so why would I think anything other than the tooth already in place and the one growing over it was being removed. I wanted to confirm that the other side actually needed to be taken because my son said he never saw or felt an issue. The dentist was patronizing asking if I understood now and they can do better to communicate going forward. This is unacceptable. I cannot trust that this other tooth actually needed to be extracted because x-rays were not taken today. Nothing at the last routine appointment was mentioned from that visit about his teeth growing in over another tooth (x-rays were taken). He was seen within the last two months. I'm already frustrated with this office with canceling, last-minute, appointments scheduled months in advance. I do not require a dentist with a great "bedside manner", but I expect clear communication and respect. read more

Waited an hour for our appointment on a weekday. I can't recommend them even if the actual service was kind. To make people wait an hour for an appointed time shows a complete lack of care as to whatever people have going on. If the aim is to get as many people in to be billed as possible, they're crushing it. If the aim is the complete care of their patients, they failed. Pass. To put it another way, if these folks made a reservation at a restaurant for 7pm and when they arrived, the host ignored them for an hour, do you think they'd find that appropriate? I took my 3yrs old girls for their annual checkup. Dr. Nasseh is absolutely amazing. She is focused, professional, flexible and extremely friendly with the kids. My appt was at noon so my toddlers fell asleep the moment we arrived. She patiently waited for them to wake up one by one and get ready for their checkup. Also the office manager went out of his way to help me carry the stroller upstairs. All in all I loved our experience and will definitely return for our next check ups. read more

We are still going to Park Slope Pediatric Dental and continue to love the care. They've gotten busier so sometimes we do wait longer for our scheduled appointments, but the front desk staff is very kind. They know my daughter well now and she has a good experience there every time no matter be it a routine check up or a more intense dental procedure. read more

My 11yr old daughter had an appointment with Dr. Nasseh and I had the worst experience with her as a parent! When we arrived, within 5 min, the dental assistant came out and told me he is going to bring my daughter back for some quick X-rays and I could stay in the waiting room because it will only take a few minutes. Like 10 min later, he comes back out to let me know that Dr. Nasseh has already started my daughter's cleaning and she should be done shortly. Not once did he say, Mom you could come back now or nothing!! Everything was done without me being present! My daughter comes out 5 minutes later, Dr. Nasseh never once acknowledged me as the parent at no point in time during this appointment!! It was as if my daughter was over 18 and went to her appointment alone! The dental assistant comes out, yet again, to tell me that Dr. Nasseh told your daughter to let you know that she needs to follow up with an orthodontist. How unprofessional of her to pass a message through an 11yr old?? I asked why is the doctor not speaking to me as the parent because I've never experienced this before! He told the doctor I need to speak with her and she comes out to me with an attitude! That practice is very unprofessional and rude! They all need to go learn the proper etiquette of how to deal with their patients and their family members in the correct way! read more

What a great experience for my 3 year old daughter. It was her first visit, and they were so great with her. From the receptionist, to the hygienist, to the dentist. Especially the hygienist, Wafa. She spent time to ease my daughter's worries and nervousness, and really made it very fun for her. Even biting down for the X-rays, which I hate myself. She was very informative with tips on how to keep my daughter's teeth clean. I can't praise Wafa highly enough. Dr Nassah was also great with my daughter. There is a nice play area in the reception area that helps put children at ease. I can't vouch for wait time, because I was the first one there, but it doesn't seem to be a problem. I would give more than "5 stars" if there is space. This place is every child's dream to come for pediatric dentist. From receptionist, assistance, to dentist are all friendly and experts of dealing children. Going to the dentist is every child nightmare, especially the needle being insert to the gum, and the loud sound of the drill would taunt them. My 5 years old had bad experiences on the previous dentist at Kids Dental in Sunset Park, I chose dentist place for the better. This place didn't disappoint my expectations. First visit few weeks ago, Dr. Attire created a warm welcome and ensure my daughter would not afraid of any instrument place in her mouth. Second visit for tooth extraction and filling, second doctor which I forgot her name, had the entire universe patient with my daughter from the start to the end. Throughout the process of tooth extraction and filling, she ensured my daughter that instruments were used will not hurt, talked to my daughter to distract her from being fear of pain, and never allowed my daughter to see needles and didn't surprise my daughter of any instrument. I highly recommend this place to all parents to bring their children for dentist check up. I assure you that you will leave with satisfaction and your child will not say no to you when you take them to dentist. read more

Let me start by saying I gave this office a second chance to redeem their professionalism and they failed...twice. First experience: I made an appointment over a month ago for my daughter. They took down our info and the day OF the appointment (after waiting for 15 min) they tell me they couldn't verify her insurance. She has dental coverage and not sure what the mix-up was. I called the insurance carrier and they confirmed her eligibility. Not sure what the mix-up was at their office but they could have called me AHEAD of time to fix the issue and not wait until we are phsically there for our appt to do this. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them another try because of their convenient location. Second experience: I made a second appointment and they had the same issue as before but this time they called me the next day (after i requested they dbl check/verify insurance coverage same day). Insurance verified. This time they call me 40 min BEFORE her actual appointment to ask me to call my own insurance to get a letter of eligibility faxed to them... This office is ridiculous. I cancelled my appointment on the spot and now have a reliable dentist to go to. Don't waste your time here. If they make mistakes with something as simple as an appointment, your bills will likely be a nightmare. read more

My family is new to the neighborhood and were told by our primary care doctor to have a oral health check up for my toddler son due to some pain in his teeth. Our little one is scared of the doctor let alone the dentist. So we where a bit reluctant to take him. But once we called hellosmile we where so impressed with how they handled our questions. Ololade the receptionist was a wealth of information. Once we got to the office we where greeted with bright colors and Dr. Nasseh was also a real pro with him she knew how to handle me immediately and they quickly became friends :) We would highly recommend hellosmile to anyone wanting to take their child to a happy, professional, fun dental experience. read more

After receiving a diagnosis from another dentist in the neighborhood, we learned that our son (then 5) had a number of cavities that would need to be dealt with, including pediatric crowns and root canals. She was prepared to do the work in the office, but I had concerns about the drug regimen and the use of nitrous oxide (all standard, but done without an anesthesiologist). For a second opinion, we went to see Dr. Attaie, based on a recommendation of a friend, whose son had a very positive experience with his office. It is worth noting that the office setting is uber kid-friendly. It is interactive, bright, colorful, dynamic, and a generally fun place for young people. Dr. Attaie was warm and direct with us, understands how children operate, but is also ready to give parents the information they need. He confirmed the diagnosis and suggested we attempt to do some of the procedures in the office. (I tend to lean towards conservative practitioners in general, and I consider him to be one. ) My son was, at the time, extremely anxious about having anything done in his mouth, so after a failed attempt to do procedures in the office, Dr. Attaie recommended that we have everything done under general anesthesia at Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital. Needless to say, we weren't thrilled to put our son through all of this, but I knew he would be in good hands in a hospital setting. Everything went down without a hitch. In fact, Dr. Attaie and the staff at Mt. Sinai blew me away with their personable approach and kindness. Following the procedure, we received phone calls from the anesthesiologist, recovery nurse, and an additional doctor who had been in the O/R to check on my son. A year later, my son (now 6) is comfortable getting his teeth checked, and has developed a friendly relationship with Dr. Attaie and his staff. Furthermore, I completely trust Dr. Attaie's medical opinion, and simultaneously find his bedside manner totally on point. I highly recommend Dr. Attaie and his practice. read more

HelloSmile is THE most fantastic pediatric dental practice you can wish for. My 4-year old girl literally LOVES going to the dentist - in large part because of her very first experience where Tareq the dental hygienist turned her cleaning (for which she was very very nervous on beforehand) into a true party, including singing songs and calmly explaining what he does. She visibly relaxes once she sits in his chair. Believe it or not, but she sometimes asks me out of the blue when we go to the dentist again. I haven't had experience yet with serious dental conditions so I cannot say anything about their specialized expertise, but what I see and feel when being around is 100% confidence in their practicing dentistry. I haven't seen other kids in drama moods either every time we visited. The environment, incl. the behavior of all staff and dentists present, is serene. read more

Staff are very friendly and helpful. They are all very kind and great with the kids. The reception has a nice play area and each child receives a balloon after their visit. They are also good at helping calm nervous kids- it's a bit of a drive for us but their kindness makes it worth it. read more

I am upset about the expectations set when reviewing Hello Smile, however when attempting to schedule an appointment and reviewing all location options it becomes evident that Hello Smile is biased in neighborhoods. If and when operating from several locations one location should not look to have different policies than others. Seems like this company cares more about a client profile, when they should really focus on providing the same services regardless or location, background, or cultures of the community. The pictures posted on yelp are not the uniform appearance of the company. I an rather startled and unimpressed, I would never suggest for anyone to support a business that uphold such practices. read more

I would give it NO STARS if I had the opportunity. I booked an appointment over a month ago and told them exactly what my insurance was. I get a call the evening before I am to take by son for his first dental appointment and they tell me that they, in fact, DO NOT take my insurance. I find this to be incredibly unprofessional and it shows me how highly unorganized this office is. It took you over a month to figure that out? It's probably a good thing that this happened, because if they can't get their paperwork in order, I can only imagine how they take care of our children's teeth. No thanks! It is very upsetting because I could have been to another dentist by now and selected this one over many others. If I were you, I'd move on and not even bother with such a disorganized office. read more

Don't do it. Worst pediatric dentist in the area. The technicians are fine. But the dentists are awful. And customer service is bad - they're nice in person but no one ever answers the phone when you call. First visit for a check-up was fine. Second follow-up, the dentist was 45 minutes late, stormed into a full waiting room - w/out a word, let alone an apology, to any of us - and complained to the receptionist about traffic before disappearing. It was another full 20 minutes before she started seeing patients. Third visit was okay. Fourth visit, a follow-up, the dentist was a FULL HOUR late - again, w/out a word to the packed waiting room - then ultimately recommended a root canal on my 6-year-old. ON A BABY TOOTH!! We sought other opinions, first from a family member a retired dentist who said pediatric root canals were extremely rare and probably unnecessary, and another neighborhood dentist who agreed the root canal seemed extreme and offered to see our daughter within days. She asked us to get the dental records w/ x-rays - but this office told us it would take 2 weeks for them to prepare our records, then insisted they could not email them and that we had to pick them up by hand - and when we got there they gave us FREAKIN PHOTOCOPIES of the x-rays! Which of course the neighborhood dentist couldn't use and so had to do x-rays himself anyway. Just overall an awful experience. There are a bunch of pediatric dental offices in Park Slope. No need to chance this one. read more

I brought my 13 year old son here a month ago because this practice accepts medicaid insurances...while our first impression was mixed, the staff was very concerned with both my satisfaction and my sons experience. Also, he'd never had cavities before so I took my son back to his previous, very expensive dentist for a second opinion. He concurred with the diagnosis and sent us off with his blessing. I was very impressed by how thoughtful and effective these folks were at taking my feedback and making immediate adjustments. We had a great experience at the dentist. This is what my then 8yo daughter wrote in her diary: On May 28 2015,on Friday I had my first filling at my dentist! I was worried. I thought it would hurt, but I didn't feel anything, except for the shot. F.Y.I. I love my dentist!! WHAT I HAD TO DO: I had to lay on a dentist chair on two pillows,then the dentist put a jell on my gums called toothpaste P.S.It's not the kind you' re thinking of. After the toothpaste the dentist got something like a needle in my gums, I felt a tiny pinch. Then two dentists washed my mouth, and introduced me to an instrument that sounds like a motorcycle and they drilled away in my tooth. When they were done they go this thing that sucked up my saliva, then they put a gold ring on both of my teeth so the filling does not get on my other tooth , and the doctor put the filling in and washed my mouth. We are new to NY and I had booked appointments for both children (and had emails confirming those appointments) and also received an email from Shiva in his office asking to call me to prepare my daughter for her appointment. I called to do this and give them my insurance info. Turns out they didn't have our appointments even though I have the emails to prove they did and they now only see patients on Tuesdays until 4:30. Not very helpful so we will find someone else in the area. The dentist might be great, but I don't imagine him doing well if his staff can't even book appointments correctly and with such limited hours! read more

Staff here Cant make a simple appointment. It took 15 minutes to make an appointment for my toddler because the staff I spoke with could not get the insurance card info right. I must of repeated my self ten times and she kept putting me on hold. To make matters worse I told her I have Aetna and she kept thinking I saying blue cross. It was a nightmare to make an appointment. There was a point that I even asked her if she could here me because I though maybe my Phone reception was bad but that was not the case. Finally When confirmed my appointment she tells me she is having issues with the computer and that she accidentally double booked for that date. I get a call five days later saying that my insurance does not cover dental. I said how can that be? so I called my insurance and they verified that my plan does include dental. What is wrong with the staff here?? I don't think they are properly trained. Very poor communication, not trained properly and lack of understanding insurance coverages. read more

Hellosmile is by far the best pediatric dental office we've ever seen. The team has a natural way about them. They explain everything so well and made my daughter feel special. My 6 year old ran up to the hygienist and gave her a big hug. Everyone in the office is friendly and goes out of their way to make me and my kids feel comfortable. It is just a relaxed atmosphere. we've been to Dr. Attaie twice in his Park Slop location. Both times my daughter emerged tear free which for her is a huge win! The office is cheerful with fun dental oriented toys to teach them and get them comfortable with the visit. Dr. Attaie is super attentive and hands on and easily put my daughter at ease She was smiling while sitting on the dentist chair and also let him put varnish on her teeth without any problem. After the visit, I would often reinforce her brushing habits by reminding her what Dr. Attaie said and she totally listened and even repeated herself, Dr. said no candy and I need to brush my teeth so I don't have cavities. This is a far cry from the dental clinics I had to go to as a kid! Fun waiting room, bright colors, sweet games, and a lovely staff welcome you when you first arrive. My kids had absolutely no fears in the actual dental rooms -- they had fun with the dr's who are so caring, so thoughtful and so kind -- you kind of wonder whether it's all a dream. The rooms are equipped with ipads which are equipped with their favorite films. While my son had to get two cavities filled, he watched Tinkerbell and also got a tooth pulled without a single tear and without a single drop of anesthesia. Amazing. I recommend this office very highly. I wish they did adult dentistry too! read more

My child is not easy when it comes to going to any type of doctor, but the team at Park Slope Pediatric Dental work with him when I am really puzzled at what to do to convince him to go through with the exam and cleaning! Park Slope Pediatric Dental has been our dentist for a year now (we went through several) and we have found our dental home. They have a tremendous amount of patience, true caring personalities and my son loves their waiting area and prizes.
